1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things that annoy you... *Rant Thread* - pt.2

    1. When you buy a wig and love it so much you order it in every color but some of them come cut drastically different. I hate returning things :|

    2. Got a new one to add to the list:
You post a WTB, and you get a response. Communication is good at first—up to just before the payment info is shared. You wait a few days, hoping for a response, but—nothing. It's like as if they either changed their minds or were just baiting. Regardless, it bugs me to be left hanging on a sale. Please don't ghost me. If it's off, just inform me. It's rude otherwise to just stop responding altogether.:sigh

It's stuff like this that makes me prefer to buy direct from company/dealer instead of secondhand. The wait times can suck, but at least I know I'll get a response.:3nodding::roll:

    3. Dear god, the wait times in this hobby are what really get me. I am not a patient person whatsoever. I definitely understand why it's necessary, but it still annoys me :vein

    4. not really a rant but how expensive pet dolls are, i understand it takes a lot of time to sculpt small joints but still

    5. This is such a tiny little niche thing to be angry about, but ooh it gets under my skin
Clothing and patterns labeled as "lolita" that are just ..... not lolita.

I don't expect everyone in this expensive niche collector's hobby to also know every single thing about this other expensive niche collector's hobby, especially since lolita fashion has only just recently gotten to be more accessible and less cost-prohibitive and easier to access smaller brands (especially Chinese brands)
and I know that it's very hard to scale down the structure of lolita fashion garments, especially when you get below a 1/3 size and go into 1/4 and smaller, it takes a lot of fabric to make a cupcake skirt.

But at least give me a skirt that vaguely looks like it could fit a smaller structural garment. Something that looks like it could make a good lolita shape with just a bit of netting underneath it.
I'm about to make these own dang patterns myself for basic 1/4 sized lolita dresses for my mini-me that I'm working on.

Also why the heck is it so hard to match pinks. It never gets easier! I've been wearing pinks for 12 dang years and my shoes will never match my jsks and my blouses will never match my bracelets, and now my doll's shoes will never match his dresses either!

    7. Lol, I was saying the same things about black. I have worked in a job in which you have to wear exclusively black, and, while I have a tolerance for a little difference, I had a boss who could tell even the littlest mismatch. According to her, I should only wear the same costume, each piece worn the same time and washed the same amount of time (and of course, it had to be expensive).

As an impoverished intern, it was slightly stressful and humiliating, but now I got the bug from her and I can tell when the blacks don't match each other. Of course, I would never make a remark in that sense to another person, but I have the hardest time matching shoes to clothes for my dolls too. XD

That said, most people can't see the difference if it's any consolation.

    8. I felt that so hard--I have that ability as well, and 90% of my wardrobe is black--it's like, a quest for the least clashy 2 black things to wear

    9. I've written an email to supiadollz 3 times in the last month asking questions about 2 dolls I want to buy at their info email. I want to get some information before I invest so much money. They never email be back. I really, really love the dolls though, i'm so sad. :-(

    10. The thing that's most on my mind recently that's suuuuuper annoying is I've got a couple friends who are self-proclaimed "not interested in dolls at all!" ... but I guess they still feel obligated to try to relate to it? .... So more than just a couple times they've sent the first piece of doll related media they've stumbled across on the internet, which always turns out to be some like, super disturbing imagery! They clearly don't care to think through what they're sending, and so I am really surprised this same behavior has happened with more than one person - but it really comes off as just an assumption that because I like dolls, I would be happy they thought of me when they saw an sort of humanoid formed object, no matter how strange or disfigured.

So yeah, my "things that annoy me" thing can be summed up as having some people who've learned this is my hobby seem to be defaulting to using it as a way to be really uncaring about the way they approach social interaction with me.

    11. Lack of communication!!!!
One thing I cannot stand is lack of communication, and when you finally reach out being made to feel like the bad guy for asking for an update!
I can give plenty of examples, believe me I have been given the run around and heard so many excuses for why it is taking longer, or my dog at the shipping label, but seriously why make excuses or get mad at me because you have poor time management? Just be honest, I feel more ill at ease when I feel I am being lied to or made to feel I am being a pest for wondering where my stuff is when it is well past the date you gave for completion!

    12. All of my favorite companies do not offer head-only sales (or very rarely they do, but those are not on my wishlist)...like I don't want to hoard myself with big, heavy bodies:|Plus I always go for sculpts that are not very popular, so it's even harder to search for one in 2nd hand markets (that's my fault lol)

    13. I got the same feeling. The company I ordered from do have the single head option for normal head, but the romantic version can only be purchased with the body. And it kinda make me feel bad because if I waited for one more year, I could order the full romantic version + the normal head. Due to this incidence, now I tend to postpone purchasing if the doll is not time limited. Who knows what kind of sale strategy would the company come up with in the future.

    14. So I bought myself both DF-H pumpkin heads in their Halloween event last November, for 40 dollars each. I was happy enough that that event didn't entail having to buy hundreds worth of other dolls to qualify for the event dolls. Now I went to check Clover-Singing the other day and they have those heads listed for sale again, for 18(!) (discounted from 22) dollars?? Probably overstock, although it didn't say they were actually in-stock dolls, but still. Don't get me wrong, I love Clover-Singing and I love that they seem to often offer the opportunity to order event dolls separately, but at the same time I feel kind of cheated every time I scramble to order in an event and then find the doll I wanted available separately or for less from another dealer months later. Still I don't dare count on it happening every time either.

    15. Pretty sure that is the price for the little skull face masks as the listing has +$30 to the listing for the pumpkin heads. So, you still got a good deal. It does stink though to buy something and see if you had only waited a little longer you could have gotten a much better deal. Hurts even more when you are still waiting on the doll/item to be made!

    16. @Krissim Ah, oops, totally missed that, now I feel dumb:doh

    17. It's probably been mentioned here already, but high secondhand prices that aren't negotiable... I'm better off buying new! It feels wasteful to let dolls languish like that.

IDK, I always price stuff to get it out the door so this baffles me a little.

    18. I thought I was the only one! It's hard, because I'd love sets for dolls that match well with my coords, yet it's hard to find things I would feel comfortable actually bringing to an EGL-related meet and showing to other people in the fashion. Plenty of them are perfectly good outfits, but I'd never try to present them as lolita specifically, you know?

I also feel pretty similarly when traditional Asian outfits of any kind get blanket called "kimono" when... they are not. I don't expect people to always know the differences in either case and I'm not about to correct anyone if they're not asking, but I find myself getting super nitpicky on these things when I'm browsing for clothes as of late.

    19. Finding that right shoe size for your doll who has such a slim feet. I can't seem to get it right.

    20. Something I've noticed lately that bugs me--

Please list the size of your Iplehouse dolls in sales threads.

Not everyone has the size of every Iplehouse doll memorized (Iplehouse probably doesn't even know the sizes of all their sculpts off hand). And, thanks to Doll Choice, you can have different heads on different bodies (I have two EID girls both on SID bodies), so even if I did know all the sculpts by heart (I barely know the ones I own) they could be on any one of several different bodies, with different attributes.

I keep looking Iple dolls second hand and have avoided most of the sales because I have no idea what body they're on. Other than the new SID (which I'm only familiar with because I have one), all of them are so close to each other it's hard to tell in photos. There are definitely people who lost a sale because I didn't know what I was supposed to be looking at, and moved on.

(fyi this is not a WTB post. I don't need an Iplehouse body anymore, I have a different company's body on the way to me now and am done shopping)
