1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things that annoy you... *Rant Thread*

Dec 11, 2014

    1. I think my biggest peeve is mostly shipping. I get so paranoid ever since then.
In one case, I had bought something from iplehouse. Sure enough USPS messed up the zipcode. I tracked down the package and found it was ping ponging all over 4-5 states. I'm wondering what the heck is going on here.
I called their office to see if they can enlighten me on that. The kind lady can't really do much on her end but she did sent a note and corrected the right zipcode. Apparently the zipcode that Iplehouse wrote on the box was correct...however..usps wrote a different zipcode. :doh If this was April's Fools Day then I would have been loling at this....but I wasn't..

    2. How in the world can they mess up a zip code? And why did they even need to rewrite it? That is insane O.o

Right now the thing annoying me most is shipping.... I have an Iplehouse Pamela on the way and she arrived at the airport in Chicago around 11am this morning... but her tracking just finally updated an hour or so ago saying she was inbound into customs 5 HOURS after landing.... wtf? Does it really take that long to sort some packages and take them to the customs office in the same city? Jeez! At this rate I probably wont see her until Thursday x.x

also... what is with the tracking taking forever to update?

    3. I am sorry to hear that geez. I'm not sure how custom is in terms of updating but I know for USPS they had trouble mailing stuff out. People would get their mail very late. It started last Christmas of last year. I'm thinking it got pretty hectic but even now, still on the iffy side. Tracking on the site doesn't get updated as often as it should. Both USPS and wherever the company you have ordered from is shipping it to. But with the whole zip code correction, I saw that iplehouse wrote the correct zipcode. Usps wrote two wrong zip code on the form and on the box. I still don't even know why that happened.

    4. Probably just idiots not paying attention. Those forms Iple puts on the box are not hard to read at all, so I dont understand how that could happen. Some of these postal workers need to pay more attention to what the heck they are doing.

Yeah I know the mail has been crazy lately but jeez. It's march.... there arent any major holidays involving packages right now (unless for some reason people send a crap ton for Easter).... so they need to get their act together.

The main thing that bugs me the most about her taking so long is, she's being shipped to my Gran's and I'd like to open her up when there is still day light since all I have is my crappy phone to record videos and take pictures with... it is terrible in low light. Plus if she arrives at my Gran's after noon, I wont be able to open her until A) late afternoon once the sun has gone down or B) the next morning... because I work in the afternoons and have to leave at noon to get to work on time. Option A sucks due to the camera issues and option B also sucks because if she doesnt get delivered until after 1pm Thursday, that means having to either wait til Friday to open her, or risk getting crappy pics/video and open her around 5pm and hope there is enough light available (I work from 2pm-4pm on Thursday.... those two hours would be freakin horrible knowing she's here and I cant open her x.x).

I'm on spring break right now and was hoping to have most of the week to play with her, but at this rate I will probably only get the weekend :/

    5. I get so sad when I go to great lengths for a buyer or trade partner to make sure everything is perfect for them. I take a lot time, hours, to clean and package the doll, add cute little details that I know they'll like, and include gifts for sometimes $100+. And what I get from them is a "OK, nice".

As sad as I get by ungrateful buyers, as equally frustrated I get by people who takes forever to respond, or those who just plain ignores you.

I just wished people showed as much care for you as you do for them.

    6. - All the waiting mostly. You want something and can't afford it? Then you have to wait and save up. Then BJD items aren't easily acquired so a lot of it has to be hand made & shipped from else where- which takes time. I find myself getting impatient at times and constantly checking shipping on EVERYTHING! :XD:
On top of all the waiting, sometimes things don't ever get to you- when you were so excited for it. Then, might I add, you get a refund, and it's one of those moments where you still wish you had something other than your money back.

Do it yourself? That takes a lot of time too... Still have to wait to get specialty craft and resin safe items... Special tools... Practice a lot of things till you get it right..
This hobby teaches you a lot, and the big one is to be very patient. I appreciate that at times..

      - Fellow collectors that are inconsiderate to others feelings, and are snobbishly cruel.

      - Seeing dolls being sold that were poorly taken care of/ that are difficult to repair because of an owners negligence. Why pay all that money in the first place, just to ruin a doll, and then try to sell it to someone who needs to rescue it? Almost might as well just flush a wad of cash down the toilet. I know it's not intentional, but finding and seeing it... is like watching someone take a scissors to a chalk board. There's painful wincing when a doll is nearly green and missing chunks.

      - People trying to get away with cheating the hobby. Making some doll gods look bad in the process. Annoying part is not being able to do much to stop it besides stating your mind.. :|

      - People not taking enough photos. I have no problem with the condition of the photos really (as long as you can make out what's in the photos), I'd rather see more of what you could do with a doll. I very much enjoy photos. I'll just google certain dolls to look at them and relieve stress sometimes. Seeing so many styles makes a person appreciate the little things. It seems so many people in this hobby worry about what others will think. They worry about the photo's quality, camera quality, their dolls quality, lighting, or their background area quality... So much that some don't take pictures of their dolls at all.
Some companies don't provide very many photos either. Then when you search for owners photos, you get about... What? 3 pics in a search? There are people out there with these dolls, and they're keeping them all to themselves. RAWR!! SHOW ME THE PRETTIES! :sigh

      - My biggest one is with myself on DOA... ABOUT 90% of my posts I end up editing.
      ... including this one...

    7. Something that really annoys me is the conversion between American dollars to Canadian dollars,, Whenever I want to buy something it ends up being sometimes a couple hundred more than the price listed in USD when I convert it to Canadian. It's so annoying as I always then trick myself into thinking things are less expensive than they would actually be for me :(

    8. I feel that sometimes. People getting dolls you can't and then after all that trouble of acquiring them, they take only one or two pictures. But then again, I have gotten a doll whom I've only officially taken 2 photos of. That's favoritism kicking in, of course. I've taken over 100 pics of my favourites and my non-favorites? They just languish in their boxes. But I haven't really heard people wanting to see pictures of that sculpt so I'll really rather be taking pictures of my favourites instead.

Yeah...I have a habit of editing my posts as well. I usually type so fast that I don't read what I'm writing and then have to end up editing it.

    9. Dodgy couriers is a pet peeve of mine. There is one company here that is well known for just carding people and not even ringing the doorbell. As I knew my parcel was for delivery one day I stayed put just doing stuff on the computer so it was quiet and I would here them. No ring, no knock, but later that day I found a card in the letterbox saying no one was at home and they would return my parcel to the sender! Had to make a few calls and it finally got sorted out and they dropped it off at my local post office.

    10. My main peeve is swap partners who never acknowledge getting their gift, other than that it arrived. I once went to a lot of effort to make cowboy boots for a littlefee and although they were received there was no 'thank you' or feedback at all. I don't do swaps any more.

    11. What annoys me most, lately - the Dollar-Euro-rate. Seriously, I think I'll just not buy anything those next few months and instead, start selling stuff for dollars because I can make quite a few extra bucks from that ...

    12. This. Oh so very, very much this.

    13. This is a terrible one...I usually end up double-tracking through track-trace.com, because the USPS site takes forever to show me any information, while the origin post (usually Korea for me) gives me a wealth of information that updates quite a bit faster, at least until the doll clears customs. If I had to just stare at USPS's frustrating "Preparing shipment" the whole time it was actually in transit to Chicago, it'd make me feel like the doll was never going to show up; is it really so hard for them to actually give me some real information?

    14. I had a doll sitting in NYC waiting on customs for TWO WEEKS. He finally started moving last week, but the last update is that he left a sort facility in NY yesterday morning. It's been over three weeks for a priority mail international package and I'm starting to get quite testy.

I've also had a number of packages held up in Chicago for a week or two. I'm just praying they all get here safely. USPS is a mess lately.

    15. Arrrrgh! The tracking/delivery! I recently sent out some dolls for work and the post office dude said 4-5 business days because of the shipping method I chose and.... they're still not delivered and the delivery date listed on the post office site was supposed to have been on the 6th of March. It is now the 11th and tracking STILL says that the package is sitting in a sorting facility. *grrrrrrrrr* If I paid for faster shipping with an expected date, why can't they hold up their end of the deal and deliver when they're supposed to?

    16. Can you get a refund on shipping if they don't delivery as quickly as promised? While scouring the Canada Post site for help for other problems, I'm pretty sure I saw something about that.

    17. Possibly I'll check into that but CANPost drags their feet about EVERYTHING unless it involves money owed to them. Then they're all over that like a dirty shirt. Apparently it's been sitting in this particular facility since the 8th, which I think is the last stop before going out for delivery, so even if the artist I sent my boys to couldn't get to the post office right away, the package still arrived 2 days late from when it was supposed to. If it goes on for much longer, I may end up going through all the PITA stuff required to get a refund more for the point of it than any desire to get money back.

    18. To add to the annoying mess that is international shipping, in the US at least we also have an *outgoing* Customs office who can throw a wrench into the works...

I sold one of my Soom dolls to a very sweet lady in Russia last year. She paid for our version of EMS shipping (Which wasn't at all cheap for a doll as big as a boxed SuperGem-), and based on another Soom I'd sent to a different Russian city less than a month before, we expected that she's have her package within a week or two.

Outgoing customs apparently pulled the package for inspection before it ever left the States, and they held it for almost six weeks.

Eventually, I ended up calling their office in San Francisco and absolutely raising hell about the delay, reminding them that my buyer had paid over a hundred dollars for faster shipping. They were completely unapologetic and the PO didn't offer any sort of shipping refund when I brought it up with them. They just noted that it wasn't an unusual thing to have happen if you're shipping large packages to certain countries. <_<

So... International shippers beware. If outgoing Customs gets paranoid and pulls your box for inspection, you could be in for a long, annoying delay before it ever hits the postal service or in-coming Customs office on the other side.

    19. One thing that absolutely drives me nuts is company stock.
I know sometimes its out of their control, but I hate having my eyes on an outfit, or wig that's out of stock on a website, only to go to buy it and it's out of stock. Then it takes months for it to come in stock.. or never does. You think it does, and then months after waiting to see if it comes back they take it off their website. Whhhy. Why couldn't you just take it off to begin with?

Certain angle pictures is a big one, and eye positioning in dolls. I hate it when I snap a picture and think everyone looks good, till I realize that no-- one of my dolls has wonk eye going on, or the angle doesn't work for them as it does everyone else and I need to reset and retake it.

    20. I'm totally annoyed by the exchange rate of the E U R O it S U C K S big time :...(
