1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things that annoy you... *Rant Thread*

Dec 11, 2014

    1. I got in two pairs of 14mm eyes. One brown, one blue. One pair was for a girl the other the boy. They're twins...but they were like 0_o when the eyes went in! So had to give each one an eye from the other so now the eye sizes match. Now they both have one brown and one blue eye. Both pairs had one eye bigger than the other!

    2. Whoa, that's just poor quality.

    3. I would like to know what kind of resin gets affected by the W&N brush cleaner O_O I have soaked all my heads in that cleaner for several minutes (CP Chiwoo, Switch Soseo, Soom teenie, Rosettadoll Zio etc) so far those companies seems to have a good resin because all my dolls are ok but I will be cautious from now on because I don't want to get a surprise.>_<

    4. :roll:I bought a MSD dress from ebay and when l got it it was yo sd size. I contacted the seller and told them that it was the wrong size of a dress they clamed that it would fit a MSD and that l was wrong and it would fit etc. I guess some people ddon't know the differents between a MSD and a yo sd.

    5. *laughs* Happy to help! I think. . . :sweat Most likely the head came to the company face up artist and they wanted to minimize the asymmetry. . . or something. I wish all companies would post blank photos. Sometimes a really gorgeous sculpt can be buried under the face up. By the time someone has gotten the doll and posted blank photos the sale period is over.

Can't recall the type of resin off hand but I think they had left the heads soaking for hours, not minutes. It stuck in my mind because, in Alaska at least, W&N is kind of pricey (even with a coupon) and they apparently bought enough to soak a whole head in? :XD: I'm stingily determined to make that 4 oz bottle I bought go as far as possible. *_*

While I'm at it. . . the price of materials these days! I thought with oil down (thus transportation costs would be cheaper) and the dollar being stronger that prices would drop a little. Nope. Waiting a month or more for aerosols. . . . :|

    6. Something that bothers me quite frequently is the foot sizes on the dolls I look at. I really really detest looking at human feet, so I have to make sure a doll I'm considering doesn't have feet I'll hate seeing, even if I'll probably have them wearing socks or shoes 99% of the time. I feel like most of the dolls I've looked at in the MSD size range have feet that are larger than they should be compared to the ideal in my mind's eye. This might be because I'm used to Pullips who have really tiny feet, or MH dolls, where the toes aren't really as noticeable on either. (Toes are the part of feet that freak me out the most)

Continuing with the above, it bothers me that on the more animal type looking dolls, such as cats, the cat type feet are usually just clawed versions of the regular human feet, with pawpads on the bottom, as opposed to being shaped more like an actual cat's feet.

    7. Not sure if this will help you or not, but the size of a human foot is (generally) the same as the length between elbow and wrist, when you bend your arm. Of course, there are many dolls whose feet run smaller and larger than this.

    8. It's moreso the toe length compared to the rest of the foot that freaks me out, I think. I can't look at most human feet for very long without getting weirded out. Thankfully in life drawing no one's had ones that were too unbearable. It's also probably because most feet sculpts have the big toe as the longest toe. On me, my second toes are the longest, so seeing feet look the other way is unsettling since it's not what I consider "normal" though most people have theirs that way.

    9. Yeah, I emailed the company and all they told me was that it will be closed for a period of time. :| I wish they mentioned this in their site so as not to crush the hopefuls.

    10. Rant:

Freakin' CUSTOMS. I have a parcel coming from China that has been held up in customs in SF for the past several days, even though it's just a pair of SHOES for chrissakes. Look, guys. Just because the estimated delivery date isn't until mid-April-early May doesn't give you license to hold my damn package until then when it got to the States way early!

    11. Chinese customs held one of my packages for a month. I was just glad that it didn't get held up on the American side.

    12. 1. when people overprice their dolls. i know each doll is very important! but if the person decided to find a new home and lets say sell doll A for 1,000$ while you can find her on the internet for 500$ new... it pisses me xD

      2. limited dolls... without an option to make payments =\

    13. Ohhright!
I could use a good doll rant!

      - Getting one eyebrow PERFECT and messing up the second one...
      - Messing up eyelashes..
      - Changing something on a doll and regretting it later...
      - Having the uglyest doll at a meet..

And the most obvious one.. NOT HAVING DOLL MONEY Orz/

    14. Spending hours hand-rooting an alpaca wig into a leather headcap, carefully putting it in a glass curio cabinet for the glued in cotton liner to cure, finding out that the kitten has figured out how to open the curio cabinet to get to the alpaca wig and chewed it to bits. Mebbe did some screaming and shouting at the cat, and now feel bad about that now I'm at work.

    15. Uff, gluing in eyelashes! It's the bane of my existence and it always makes me rip my hair out! I can't leave them out, though, because I prefer the look of eyelashes...

Also, the days that I want to do face-ups, the weather is awful. The days that are perfect, I either have no time or something else interferes.

    16. Here's one that's annoying me currently: when a company specifically makes wigs for a line of dolls, but one of the dolls from that line you own has a head wayy smaller than the others. My HDF Cinnamon has a tiny head compared to my Scone, and the wigs made for HDF go over his ears :( Now I'm scared to get him any more wigs because I don't know what exactly will fit!

    17. People expecting you to pay their PayPal fees for selling their stuff! If you want the darn fees include them in the price, that way you don't look so greedy, and aren't doing something you know are against the rules of selling.

    18. I'm having a similar problem... the package isn't exactly doll related (case for new camera I bought to take pics of dolls) but it arrived in Chicago and was processed on the 24th. Ever since then there hasn't been any movement x.x the estimated delivery date is middle/end of April :(

    19. Mine too! Don't go so far as to rip out hair. . . Well, not mine anyway.

    20. What annoy me? NOT being able to painting decent eyelashes of my dolls (that I always have to buy without faceup so that it can be at least less expensive) but my faceup eyelashes look always so bad!!!
What annoy me is the italy UNFAIR Custom fees!!
