1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things that annoy you... *Rant Thread*

Dec 11, 2014

    1. Trying to align eyes perfectly and realizing the head was modded unsymmetrical. -_- An hour wasted

    2. Oh no vicemage! I do hope your doll gets sorted properly and you get it quick!

My tracking did update and my doll is out for delivery today... Which brings me to another pet peeve -waiting for the package to update to 'delivered' so I can drive the three miles to town to pick it up! The agony!

    3. Yes i also agree on when people don't mark their items as sold or gone, you find something available and you take your time to contact the seller about it and then to find out it is already sold. :/ It feels like you get a slap in the face. xP

The last thing i dislike or more hate, is bullying. It's not acceptable, what the heck makes you a better person if you are mean to somebody? Ugh. Well well, that's what i dislike in the community.

    4. Totally agree with this! On the other hand, I really don't like people who already call it bullying when you dare to disagree with them. Nope, folks, that's not bullying - that's not agreeing with you. Go find a dictionary and look up the meaning of "bullying" ...

    5. My rant: i've been wanting to do face ups for WEEKS, but it's just been mega humid and drippy the entire time. 8T

    6. 1. How the guys are always taller than the girls when you get a doll couple. I mean, I understand that that's actually pretty realistic in a lot of cases, but why not just have the guys and girls generally be the same height? There should at least be different height options in case you'd like a tall girl and a small boy. In fact, that's generally how my original character couples look.

      2. Not being able to find a limited doll secondhand...I know it was limited and very hard to find but I really want this certain one and my heart just kinda broke when I realized they're not selling her ANYWHERE.

      3. When BJD owners make fun of Barbies, Monster High dolls, and basically anything else that isn't a BJD. Really, Barbies, though their proportions are really really strange, were my childhood. I made original characters for them that are easily just as dynamic as most resin BJD's characters.

      4. The fact that the Dollfie Dream Dynamite Kanu Unchou is the only tan one in existence and can't be found anywhere anymore.

      5. When people are too afraid of damaging their dolls to play with them. D: I know that resin yellows, chips, and stains easily, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't play with and love your dolly!

    7. Complete newbie here, so only a couple of things have bothered me thus far!

      - Finding the perfect wig, only for it not to be available in small enough sizes for my doll. I appreciate that she's a rarer size, but it's always disappointing.
      - Similarly, eyes. Finding nice 6mm eyes in the right colour is hard. :(
      - The lack of sizing information available for clothing and shoes for tinies. My girl's a pretty non-standard size, and trying to find things to fit her is a bit pot-luck!
      - Having to go to work and not being able to spend all that time sewing tiny outfits ;)

    8. At least three miles isn't too terrible; I grew up about three miles out of my hometown, and never feel like it's a long drive. (Though that may be because I'm in a city now and driving from a residential area to anywhere where I can shop tends to be at least that far.) At least you can get it today!

Fortunately, it looks like someone did finally catch the package as misdirected today, so it's moving along again... unfortunately, it seems like no one in this whole string of people from the moment it reached the US has any idea what "EMS" is. This is the slowest EMS shipment I have ever received, and even though it's tagged as departing the facility at 1:30 am today, it hasn't updated anywhere near me since. (Sadly, if they hadn't screwed it up entirely, I probably could have gotten it today, my only day off... :|)

Related to the topic of bullying... I don't care for it, however... maybe it's just me, but I don't feel like I see much if any? I do of course see people cry "bully!" at anyone who disagrees with them, but I can't think of any real cases of bullying I've seen lately, in spite of how often I see the word thrown around. And accusations like that bother me. Not just bullying, but other cases where someone tries to throw out some accusatory statement or another. I remember seeing a thread about doll bodies, where a poster came in and said, "Well you shouldn't go with Company X, people keep saying they're recasts of Company Y's bodies." Yet that was the only instance I could find of anyone insinuating such a thing. It not only demonizes a company that doesn't deserve it, but it makes legitimate discussion of recasting disingenuous, which is likewise bad for the community.

    9. Gappy eyes! It also bothers me when people nitpick other people to death over their photos/outfits etc.

    10. This is one about my own doll...

My Vala (an Light tan Resinsoul) just... Looks... OFF in lime/neon green. Especially when lime green and neon green are together!!! I need to make her a new summer meet outfit. >_O;; Ugh...

    11. Thank you! <3
And I totally agree!!! >_< I was following a person before who took the most disturbing photos ever... I felt very uncomfortable and didn't take long until I unfollowed them. Theres a fine line between artistic nudity and.. porn lmao.

Also reminds me of that one time someone posted about how Korean/Chinese dolls are plain ugly and the only ones who look good are the Japanese dolls... I was like O_O Wtf. They're all asian bjds which means they almost all follow some sort of similar aesthetic... but even if you feel that way, why say it out loud? xD Its just going to make you look bad. Yikes.

      Looove the comparison there xD

Although I would be super mad and frustrated if I was in a similar situation, I feel like this adds an interesting "backstory" to your twins :) Kinda like Suiseiseki and Souseiseki from Rozen Maiden ^^

    12. I hate sales posts which have the doll you want BUUUUUUT looks fishy. When you PM the alleged seller, she takes sooo long to reply, as if she isn't really into selling anything. (That is reaaaaally fishy)

Dirt, of course. Clean up, people! *_*

People who aren't into the hobby but pokes the face up of your doll, just so so rude.

    13. Fused fingers! I hate these so much. It wasn't noticeable in the listing for my MW girl, but in person I just hate her hands. I would pay almost anything to get her better hands because it's the primary reason I don't do much with her (that and her posing is really limited).

Poor posing. Some dolls just aren't designed well enough to be able to pose without modification. I don't like modding my dolls much so this is a big annoyance for me.

The lack of mature MSDs bothers me too. I want a mature looking male MSD that doesn't have a weird nose or a super stylized face. They're hard to find though :\.

The lack of diversity in pre-made furniture and clothes from companies. I guess furniture bugs me more, it seems like they all order their furniture from the same vendor. It seems like a majority of what's out there is Victorian style chairs and sofas, and while they're pretty and detailed, I honestly can't tell one Victorian style sofa from another most of the time. It seems like for clothes there are a handful of styles that most companies use, and I guess I just wish there was more originality, only a handful of companies really break outside the box in terms of design. I can understand from a business standpoint why they don't though. What's popular is what's popular, and what's is what sells.

One of my biggest pet peeves though would have to be BLATANT false advertising when it comes to companies. For example, one of the dolls I used to have wishlisted looked so soft and delicate in her sale photos. I loved her instantly. I had to choose between her and another doll though and since she was very new, there weren't any owner photos of her, So I held back a bit and waited. I am SO GLAD that I did! The doll looked absolutely NOTHING like her stock photos. Her stock photos had soft, tiny, delicate features, and the actual doll had sharp hard features. None of th beauty of the stock photos came through at all and I was so disappointed. I had planned to get both dolls in time, but I wound up scrapping her from my wishlist entirely. I don't think I'll ever order a doll I can't see non stock photos of because of this experience.

    14. Things that annoy me: Sculpty for eye putting and also the white eye putty that some companies use for default eyes. Both are terrible for the resin and get so gross when they dry up or start to crack. Both can damage the acrylic eyes :(.

    15. Lack of communication from companies. :( I understand most of these companies are very small, but they are still a business and ones that are selling things for a LOT of money at that. Wouldn't it make sense to make your customers feel at ease in trusting you? I just can't understand the logic of ignoring someone when there are hundreds of dollars (and possibly your reputation) on the line.

    16. I actually think a lot of this has to do with Asian culture. I know Korean culture and some other places they see contracts and other such rules and things as stuff that can be negotiated and changed. Whereas here, once something is agreed upon, we believe it is set in stone and cannot be changed. They also dont like to say yes or no and will avoid answering if they dont think they can give you a reasonable answer:

      -found here: http://davidcliveprice.com/12-commandments-of-asian-business-etiquette/

and then here is some on Japanese business etiquette: http://davidcliveprice.com/japanese-business-culture-translation/
      Korean: http://www.korea4expats.com/article-business-practices-etiquette.html

but basically, they still see themselves as trying to save "face" and they believe they are doing their best in a business situation by not giving us direct answers so that they do not disappoint us or give us answers we do not want. In business, I think most Asians see harmony and balance as very important and unhappy business relationships as no-nos. So even when things take ages, they still are trying to make us happy in the end to re-establish a peaceful business relationship. I think this could be why some older companies have went under.... they probably got overwhelmed with trying to understand their English customers and saving face and trying to make everyone happy. I wouldnt put it past them to completely decide to jump ship and end their business if they cant have what they deem as the "correct" business etiquette and balance and may see themselves as bad businessmen.

also I found this last link interesting: http://www.ediplomat.com/np/cultural_etiquette/ce_kr.htm

      especially this part:

      • Koreans generally start negotiations at an unreasonable position and prepare to compromise. Koreans are tough negotiators and admire a firm, persistent negotiator, but refrain from being too aggressive.
      • "Yes" is not necessarily “yes.” Koreans avoid saying "no." Try to phrase questions in a manner that doesn't require a "yes" or "no" answer. Example: Instead of saying "Could we sign the agreement by next Friday?” say "When is the earliest date that we could expect to sign this agreement?"

    17. That's an interesting explanation, though I admit I don't think I can ever understand it. Nothing makes me more stressed out or UNhappy than not knowing what's happening with my money! No answer is far worse to me than a negative answer, and I don't know how ignoring someone equates to anything remotely positive.

I do try my best to be patient, but it's hard not to get a little anxious/angry when there's a lot of money on the line and I could so easily be scammed.

    18. I agree. I'd most definitely rather have a negative answer than no answer at all ^^

    19. I dislike
-wigs that have the wig caps showing under the fringe. Just urgghhhh. D: I try to avoid it but I have a doll with such a wig. :/ Haha.
-things not coming in sizes you want them. SD things in tiny sizes or the other way around.

    20. I'm getting a bit annoyed myself, even though I know there's still plenty of time. It's only been 41 days out of the 100-day guarantee Soom has, but I'm still sooooo nervous when the status just says "preparing." Has she been molded yet? Is Soom waiting for more resin or more stringing elastics? And then there's the shipping all the way from Korea. Will she arrive just before another humid stretch so I can't work on her faceup until after hurricane season ends? I know these things take time when there are so many dollies to be made and so few people making them, but I'm on pins and needles waiting for my Harriet to arrive. I'm taking my anxiety meds but they seem to be helping with everything but this!
