1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things that annoy you... *Rant Thread*

Dec 11, 2014

    1. Well, if they don't think it's morally wrong to steal from the artists who made the original doll - fine, let them buy recasts. However, if they insist on doing something that many in this hobby (the majority, I like to think) consider morally wrong, they'll just have to deal with their decision's consequences and be mature enough not to whine about how mean everyone is to them because they want nothing to do with them or their fake dolls. It's not like they didn't know what they had coming when they knowingly and willingly bought a recast. It's well-known how despised and hated recasts are by doll owners with a strong anti-recast stance.

    2. Having a doll stuck in transit due to postal strike :ablah:

    3. something that annoys me are the crazy prices for the clothes. i get that i is hard and takes a lot of work to make but i'm so poor!:...(

    4. What annoys me right now? Oscar Doll Eyes. I get it that many people find them cute or special or beautiful - well, I don't and when I'm looking at sales threads, nothing's quite as big of a turn-off as Oscar Doll Eyes. I don't like sparkly eyes. I like normal, human-looking eyes. Or maybe if it's a manga-like sculpt, anime eyes. But recently, you seem to see those Oscar Doll Eyes and similar eyes everywhere.

    5. omg how much I agree with this! That's what had totally put me off the newer FL sculpts because all the promo pics had sparkly eyes x.x It wasnt until I saw some with normal eyes that I was like "oh... that sculpt is kind of cute".... for some reason those sparkly gem eyes just creep me out/look out of place.

    6. Yah, I find them really creepy, too. Not that they're not beautiful - they just really, really give me the creeps.

    7. Interesting. I don't like sparkly eyes either. It doesn't annoy me per se when I see it on someone's doll, but I accidentally bought some urethane eyes that had sparkles in them and as soon as I put them in, the first thought that popped in to my head was "OMG HOW GROSS!"
So, yeah...they look good on other people's cute/fantasy dolls but they just don't suit my guys. (Did I mention my guys were guys? Yeah, I don't know what I was THINKING).

    8. 4 things annoyed me in this hobby:

      1. people who didn't take care of their dolls.... I feel sad, Because My dolls are all like my own child, I'd buy them clothes, wigs, shoes, underwear, socks, etc and clean them frequently, they're on my priority list if I had extra money
      2. People who are jealous if you get more dolls. They stop talking to you, gave you cold shoulder, and didn't even invite you to dollmeet. That happen Only because buying another doll, or have more dolls than him/her, how silly that sounds? But yeah, that happens here. And I didn't even understand that :sweat
      3. Maybe expensive doll but with limited poseability. I love to pose my doll, that's one reason why I buy them. I love to draw, and my doll totally helped me with that, and they helped me for references, but well, sometimes I'm a bit upset if they didn't come with good poseability...
      4. Company changes or upgrade body after you buy from them. And I had to bear with the very limited old body...one doll that I had can't even sit properly..or bend their arms to touch his face...I'm quite upset...

    9. I dont mind some glitter in eyes that mostly look natural, but the ones with the big hunky gem looking things like these = hell no:

    10. Customs! I hate having to wait and pay more if they decide to stop my package, but I'm even more scared about them opening the box and damaging the dolls somehow... (thankfully it has never happened to me).

And some other things: misaligned eyes, companies that don't sand the seam lines at all, and so many wig problems :XD:

    11. - Whenever people butt into your business. As an example, if someone tries to tell you how your doll should dress.
      - Elitist, like...what are you doing? Don't. Bye.
      - Not having moolaa for a doll.
      - People saying the hobby is a waste.
      - When I can't find exactly what I'm looking for.
      - When SOOM's dolls are sold out. RSdoll's tan skin dolls are limited...WHY?
      - When someone outside of the hobby doesn't try to understand my point of view of the hobby.
      - Smudged face-ups.
      - Non double-jointed bodies.
      - Distasteful doll bodies.
      - Some of the doll prices.
      - Non-styled Fur wigs.
      - Doll clothing with poor quality.

    12. The fact Iplehouse is having a sale AND getting resin out in record time while I have no money for dolls.

    13. Oh well some people in the hobby that start to say or post in their account "if you want to know more about my doll do some research" or like "im tired of people asking about my dolls try to do research of your own". I know there is google and it can help you a lot when you want to know something but sometimes it helps more when you tried to ask somebody. Just like me on my very first year in the hobby i always browse blogs about BJD and i saw how some collectors earned followers from social media acc. (like IG) or tumblr and flickr and whatever, how their dolls become what really their characters and really grow into the hobby. And i saw also how that person changed. I know it's none of my business and theres nothing to do with me and i cant complain if that person doesnt want to help or tired of answering over and over when they got asked about their dolls. It just annoyed me >:( So i end up unfollowing them. lol. Well they are just negative energy for me. But i like some fellow people in the hobby that is really nice, like some people that are willing to help. :)

    14. Exactly!! My pockets are burnt!!

    15. Something that annoys me are those people that buy dolls like normal people change underwear.
It's okay to buy a lot of dolls, but I HATE those people that are like "Omg, an order from dollzone came in today in the mail, I don't remember which doll I ordered, hehe!" ... WHAT? It's a REALLY expensive doll, and you don't REMEMBER spending that much money on something? 0.o

Also those people who write like... "Omg, just made an impulse buy! So happy about ordering this guy" (About a fullset doll) and I' thinking... Wow... "Impulse" buy? For that much money... You have too much money....

AND! Those people who buy a doll, and then unpacks it, and then list it for sale, because "It just wasn't the one" or "I didn't connect with it" and so on. Spend time thinking about it before ordering it! 0.o

      Then there's the smaller things like;
People who take really ugly pictures of their dolls.
People who don't finish their doll, but still take photoshoots of them as if they are finished.

Yeah xD Those people makes me irritated.

    16. I can agree 100% with the eyes, especially after I put eyes in a bjd the first time.. like it's not very hard!! why don't you put in the effort to make your dolls look nice!

@rikkedehli I agree with this too

    17. Personally, my only real gear grinding that I just can't stand is the whole not putting effort into a photo shoot.

Just make sure the hair is combed and the eyes aren't crooked. Just that much effort goes a long way.

    18. I have to say that after spending a MINT at iplehouse, I'm talking "The Works", Pamela in mobility, face up, both CH clothing sets w/ weapons blushed, Another,4 full sets of dresses/costumes , lingerie sets, cashmere friggin coat, 5 pairs of shoes, several wigs, and a few glass eyes...I mean, when I do something, I do it all the way (much to detriment to my bank account). Anyways, after ALL of that plus more later to outfit my David Kuncci, iplehouse didn't even sand down the seams OR even make the (sorry, but no other word will get my point across) damn head cap fit evenly or use damn magnets that actually work!!

The good and lovely folks here on doa offered excellent advise on how to make it secure and I appreciate that immensely. But dude! The fact that we know that this is so common from this company that we pay so much money to hasn't fixed the problem and still charge the same amount annoys me a lot. That being said, I really really want to get the new Aliyah with faceup B...and Lahela with special real skin.....heh

    19. My current annoyance is customs and anything post-related.

I ordered a tiny BJD just recently, she was a birthday gift to me from my boyfriend/partner. I've admired her sculpt ever since I started the hobby and I was so excited to add a tiny version of her to my 'collection'. However customs/EMS decided to be jerks and detained her twice so far. First she was detained because they couldn't find out her exact monetary value so they didn't know what they should be taxing me. I grit my teeth and told them I'd pay whatever tax they decided to put on her but they wouldn't release her. Then I mailed my proof of payment to them and also sent the documents by post just in case they wouldn't accept it by mail. Just when I think my girl would finally be released they slap a 'dangerous' warning on her. Yes, because a 15cm BJD is bound to take over the country when you let her in. They're now figuring out if resin is actually 'legal' in my country to import.

Please keep in mind while reading the above that I already have an SD girl at home that was ordered through the exact same means and paid in the same way and she arrived at my doorstep without any issues. They must hate that little doll with a passion.

On top of that it has been smoking hot here lately and I'm scared to death for my little girl since I don't know where they're storing her. A cardboard box can get really hot really fast and I don't want anything happening to her. I'm also scared to death they've opened her and harmed her in any way. I'm really dissapointed in the whole system to be honest and doubt I'll be ordering a doll outside the EU anytime soon again.

    20. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but nothing grinds my gears more than researching dolls, stumbling across a pretty face and not finding any information about the dolls in owner pics anyfreakingwhere. No tags, no text, nothing in the owner/poster's profile ... annoys the heck out of me.
