1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things that annoy you... *Rant Thread*

Dec 11, 2014

1. Usually all dolls are made to order even if they're "in stock" and you have to wait a few months unless you were buying from a dealer like Junkyspot who usually has the dolls ready to go because they order the dolls and put them on sale when they receive them. It still sucks that you didn't receive what you ordered though, that was really bad business! =(

2. Typically, if a dealer lists a doll as in stock, it actually is in stock. Sometimes you can get deals that way, too, when say a dealer has an older style body instead of the new improved version. Or when a dealer stops carrying a brand, any dolls or parts they still have can be purchased for a small discount just to clear them out of their storage space.

I'd have been very irritated to find out that they'd sold the doll I bought (the in stock one) to someone else. To then to compound the error by getting a different bust size than I wanted AND a different body... At that point, no matter how much I wanted the doll, I'd have cancelled the order and demanded my money back because the error was on their end of the deal (the dealer's side of it) not mine.

When I order a doll, I do so with specific requirements in mind and don't want changes made without my authorization. If there is a problem with something, let me know and I'll okay or refuse the change depending on what works for me. It is a good chunk of my money going to pay for the item so I should get the thing I paid for not whatever was convenient for someone else to hand off to me.

3. I ordered directly from the company, so Yumi might be right, but I can't fathom why they would say a doll was in stock if it isn't made yet.

Iron_Dog I should have refused the doll, since it was different from what I'd ordered, but I guess I was trying to be nice. Silly me. After I got the doll it had other issues, but I have since fixed them myself. Live and learn.

4. Same!
Ugh I've encountered these people before. Just, no.

5. in general lots of things... most recently. potential owner (as in don't own yet) who are looking for the company that makes that 'unicorn' of resins.... the one that will "never" yellow... Mellowing as I refer to it begins as one company put it... 'the moment the resin is removed from the mold'. It is unavoidable. Yes we all want our dolls to look like new for as long as possible but maybe if we looked for a doll that we liked "even after some mellowing". I read somewhere that in Korea at least, many older owners don't like 'new' dolls until they have had a bit of time to age. (Note I am not talking about a doll that goes from white to green/yellow in 3 months... even I would be upset at that)

Dolls are like fine wine... they WILL age... and CHANGE with that time. It should be expected but NOT FEARED WITH ABJECT HORROR.

After all, a doll that never sees the light of day and is kept sealed away... is a sad doll indeed. If you don't intend to 'love your doll'... why get it? (this does not apply to ppl who have to store dolls for other reasons - ie in containers to prevent them from molding >< when not being played with).

And had to reply to this one after last night lol
this make me nuts... found a doll ... granted it's 'limited' however the jacked up price was meant to recover what evilbay took AND make a good profit...
The doll with ALL the extra's (including stuff you could get 2 of) ran about 2,000 USD (she didn't even have 'everything' for the sale)... The seller wanted 3,000 USD (doll is not even a year from it's release date O_O >< ... come on... The store TARGET tried to do the jack the price to make over normal price "while liquidating!"... it didn't work for them either ...

or better yet... a 'head' being sold for $400... when the company value at full price is only $185. You may have to wait for a split or one of the roughly twice yearly head sales to get it but over twice the value?!... And the doll itself (full doll) is 'basic' and sells for $670 ... O_O

6. OH YES Another thing that annoys me to no end is when there's pictures, especially if they are in a certain album or group on Flickr, or here in the Gallery/Picture Request/Database whatever thing... for example, say a certain brand of eyes or wigs. And people post their eyes or wigs in there. And they do not even bother writing what kind the item is!
I don't see how it helps anyone really if they list some blue eyes in there when the company makes about 100 different kinds of blue eyes! Great so we can now see that there's blue eyes... but if we actually like them and wanna buy this exact pair we are out of luck again because we dunno what they are called!
(And yes, of course asking the person that posted the picture is an option but seeing how I'd have to contact like 25 people every day about items that are not tagged anywhere, no thank you)

7. I think what annoys me about this amazing hobby for me is the wait on doll clothing, not when you buy a doll as i know the companies have to make them etc its when you buy stuff on etsy and company clothing it takes about a month for items to come down. I also know some items are handmade but it still annoys me lol

Another thing annoys me is msd dolls only look like young teens when it be awesome to see msd look mature

i think that it for now lol

8. Right now what bugs me is trying to find MDD shoes that fit. All the MSD shoes l have don't fit. The only pair that do is a pink pair from M style.

9. This happened a while back in the forum, but when someone asked me about my grail I gladly told them who he was and they responded to me with "They're not my style, but _ is my favorite." Isn't that a little rude to say, especially when I'm talking about my doll :|

10. I dont really think that's rude... if it wasnt a sculpt/brand that person liked, they were being honest. It's not like they said it was super ugly/they couldnt believe you liked that one. We dont all have the same tastes.... I'd much rather someone say that than lie/say something way worse etc.

My current annoyance is..... not having money for dolls! Iplehouse just released puppies and a new EID girl (Raffine) who I am madly in love with... but I dont have any money to spend on dolls right now. -sigh-

11. The Raven It did rub me the wrong way since I was pretty enthusiastic about the doll I was talking about, but it's very hard to tell someone's tone of voice when we're on the internet as opposed to talking to them irl

12. I understand. I cant say that I always know how people mean for things to be read/interpreted either, but in this instance it doesnt seem like they were meaning to offend. I know what its like to have people not like something you are enthusiastic about, but it's always going to happen since everyone likes different things.

13. I get this... it's depressing when others don't share your enthusiasm... but like has been said (in several ways actually) we can't all love the same thing lol. i get a 'similar' feeling at doll meets (locally) since no one shares my Iple passions. And there are some dolls and 'companies I just can't 'enthuse over. Saddly for me one of them is the Volks dolls which seem to be rather popular in our group. To me it's like Barbie.... 'another one?' But that's they way it goes...

Anywho... new annoyance ;p ... when a company puts out a new product... one you want to love... badly... but they miss the mark ><
Iplehouse put out 'pets' (only dogs so far) BUT and to me it's a huuuuge but. for the size of doll they make they really missed the mark with 'scale'... The dogs are barely big enough for the companies smallest dolls... and to me are rediculous when put with the big dolls... C'mon guys couldn't you get your own companies scale right? O_o

Oh and when you finally ask about a restock and they say "yes we will... it will take 5-10 days".... 15 days later.... where is my item that you said you were restocking? ><. Don't yank my chain -_-...

14. this totally ^^ omg... I wanted them to be amazing, although I still want one, I cant justify spending $100+ on their new pet dolls right now... especially since they arent in scale x.x I really hope they make some bigger ones and cats eventually though.

Also... ugh how I hate waiting for restocks! Usually they show up when I dont have money... and then they are gone again when I do. lol

15. When companies only post artsy pictures only showing the doll from one angle on their sales page, artsy is fine, but i also need a picture without the faceup and for the love of God, a picture of the head from the side! I need to know how the nose looks and make sure the face isn't too flat!

16. i am a bit annoyed with myself that i didn't check the events
so i was to late for The Spirit of Fellowship: Adopt a Newbie Event
but now i kno to check the event forum from time to time

17. I totally agree with you here! I went a few times to a local group, and while the people were very nice, the most popular companies among them were Volks, Switch, and Fairyland. They are all lovely dolls (I even have two MSDs and two MNFs), but my hands-down favorite is Iplehouse, and they were sort of looked down on for their "bad" posing (not my dolls specifically, just the company in general).

I was disappointed with how tiny Iple's puppies are. I had planned to get a few pets from Eve Studio, and it looks like I will be sticking with that plan, unless Iple makes pets that are better proportioned to their larger dolls. I'm hoping this tiny size is just an experiment to see how much demand there might be for pets.

18. I totally agree. Especially when they have the doll looking down and hair covering half the face. I want to see the doll with no wig and no clothing, looking face forward so I can imagine my own wig and clothing on the doll. I'm NOT going to pay a lot of money for a doll I can't see.

19. This just happened today with me. One guy I know and I were talking about the plushes I sew and he asked what I was going to work on next so I told him that I was making clothes for dolls. He was interested and wanted to know more about them so I had a few pictures of them on my phone. After I showed him a few pictures he said he liked my girls but I only own boys. I politely explained that they were all boys even the one wearing all the jewelry and told them they're all characters from a story I'm writing. Then his next response is you should make them into girls.

Right then and there, I wanted to face palm so much.

20. Umm pictures taken with bad lighting and a low quality camera kind of bug me tbh
and the fact that my kdf's feet are so big :(
