1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things that annoy you... *Rant Thread*

    1. @Artyrosie This waiting time has a reason to be actually^^ even the "big" companies are actually very small with just a few employees. Fairyland for example : there are about ten people. Including managers, creators, face up artists, people who make the resin doll... So having hundreds of dolls in stock always is actually impossible, there just isn't enough people to make them. On top of that, making a BJD is really expensive, so making a lot at the same time without being sure that they will all sell quickly is a very good way to make your company go bankrupt.
The company that make your sofa has thousands of employees, the sofa is not that expensive to make compared to the price it's sold... so of course you can have your sofa right away.
Some artists do work on in-stock dolls system though, but the quantities are really limited (so very hard to get) and it's more expensive.

Though I can relate to how frustrating it is to have to wait months to get your doll (I can't help but getting so impatient when I order a doll !) I can't blame the companies for not making them fast enough.

    2. Totally agree!! :)

    3. Another problem with holding dolls ready made in stock is space required for that and the aging factor of the resin. Well all know resin mellows over time regardless of how careful you are. Some resin is more stable than others and even that can vary from batch to batch. 'Tis the nature of the beast.

If a company had say... 20 dolls of X sculpt and 10 dolls of Y sculpt and 7 dolls of Z sculpt and they were made at different times and from different batches, the resin between the sets could very well be different. Then customer A comes along and they want X head on Y body with the hands of Z. How ticked off would you be as a customer to get a doll that had a resin mismatched head/body/hands when buying a brand new, direct from the company, doll? For many people resin matching is very important (myself included) and I'd be livid to get a brand new doll from the company and the colour between the head/body wasn't identical.

If wait times bother you, looking only at in-stock dolls or purchasing 2nd hand is likely your best bet. You can sometimes get just what you want by doing that but every now and again, there's that one doll that you'll wait and wait and wait to get your hot little hands on and you'll be fine with the wait (although likely impatient) because of how badly you want that doll.

    4. This actually happened to me, although I knew there was a very real chance it would happen (as in, the company actually warned us it could happen) when I bought the doll so when it arrived mismatched I wasn't all that surprised. When Elfdoll was clearancing their boys out after they discontinued them they blasted the last of their already-made stock out the door at very low prices -- so I bought a head and body I very much wanted. The head was older than the body, so when they arrived the head was definitely markedly yellower, and both were "brand new". Under normal circumstances I would MUCH rather wait for the doll to be made so everything matched and really was brand new than take the chance on "in stock" items.

    5. Another problem that l find is trying to find the right wig/color. I thought l found the right wig at wigs2dolls but when l got the wig it was way too big for Rini (Mafuyu head from obitsu). So now l am going too see if a wig will fit from www.facetsbymarcia.com. l have two of there 7/8 Wigs and l really like them. This one is going to be a 8/9 thought.

    6. When the outfits you want for an sd doll are only msd size and vice versa (looking at you volks!) Haha

Also doll sites that have all the sold out items mixed in with what's available. .. it should be easy enough to sort those to the end of the list, right?

When I am taking pictures of my doll and think I really got some great shots... only to notice when I get them on the computer a really annoying speck of dust, or a fuzzy, or a stray hair! Ugh, or that an eye slipped out of alignment :doh

    7. ALL THE YES. I don't care if it's a doll site, a figure site, or freakin' Amazon, *sold out stuff should not default to displaying*. It's basic interface design, you guys. . .

    8. I'm guessing you've never bought a sofa that wasn't on the sales floor. If you walk into a furniture store and like one of their ready-made sofas, then sure, you can get it delivered in a few days. The selection will be limited, but it will be fast. Dolls are the same way. If you go to Junky Spot, DDE, MOC, or other dealers, then you can order any doll they have in stock and it will ship in a few days. The selection will likewise be limited, but it will be fast.

On the other hand, if you want a sofa that the store doesn't carry in stock, or if you want a stock sofa in a different color, then it will generally take 8-12 weeks for the company to make it and ship it to you. Just like for dolls ;)

A rant of my own: sellers/customizers who do not communicate. Seriously, if you already have my money, then the very least you owe me is a status update once in a while, especially when I've emailed you to ask what's going on.

    9. I just wish sellers would offer to split a doll if the buyer was after the body. :sigh

    10. Patience is a very good virtue to acquire when it comes to this hobby.

There was a particular doll that I'd been eyeing for a long time. But this company takes forever to make dolls and they even warn you most places they are sold that it might be 4-6 months minimum before you will see one and on the forum I've seen it can be even longer. I've seen people commenting that it took them a YEAR to get theirs. I'm patient but once my money has been spent I'm just not that into waiting that long for a new doll. A couple of months, fine, but no way I'd wait a year for a doll from a company. He remained in the back of my head but I just basically put the idea of owning him aside.

I knew it was unlikely to happen finding him used. He's just not a popular doll. In the two years I've been on DOA I've seen exactly two copies of this doll owned by other people. I've seen only one head, the one I finally bought, listed for resale. This guy, he'd never even had a face up. In the end he still took me a heck of a long time to acquire but since I wasn't actively looking the whole time it didn't bother me. Being patient in this case saved me tons of money off what I would have paid had I ordered this doll myself. Not to mention I did not have the aggravation of waiting forever knowing I had already paid that much for him. In the end he was a deeply discounted dolly, a fact that suits me and my wallet just fine.

$166 shipped vs $450 shipped this is what a lot of patience, some flexibility, and a willingness to hybrid got me. That's a pretty big drop in price that for what amounts to basically a brand new doll. He wasn't the color I'd planned on. NS-Y is kind of weird to me compared to NS-P but it's okay I'm working with that and I'm getting used to the NS-Y thing. Other than that he's adorable. He's a great addition to my dolls. Like most of my dolls he's a very unique sculpt and I'm very glad he did decide to join my doll family.

    11. When a seller doesn't tell you whether a wig is in-stock or not. I want an idea of how long it'll take for it to arrive, guys!

    12. When you buy something that doesn't fit right.

    13. after tripple checking it should be the right size.... *looking at you Leeke* (shoe sizing is abysmally NOT consistent.)

    14. When clothes store don't offer proper measurements for their clothes. I get it can be a bit tricky getting a complete size chart for each item of clothing, but measuring the outer width and lenght of a shoes is super easy!
I can't find measurements for volks sd17 anywhere, so how am I supposed to know if a pair of boots marked "size sd17" is supposed to fit my doll??

    15. I think I should clarify.... yes what you say is easy... but when it's the 'inner' measure you need to worry about it is an issue when said company switches from posting inner for some, outer for others while few have 'both' measurements... and they don't always tell you if the size they list is inner or outer... saying it fits a 7.5 and what they really mean is a 6 because the whole outer size is 7.5 (a 7.5 foot needs an 8) Trust me on this one... you can't be sure what the 'site' is referring to all the time). I have several pairs of shoes that fall into this little 'mess'.

It's as bad as 'naming what doll' they fit assuming you know all about that doll lol...

    16. OR, saying it fits MSD or Yo-SD when really they mean it fits normal MSD and Yo-SD's and not your freaky sized Mini or slim Yo.

    17. lmao this it the nightmare of Iplehouse dolls.. almost 'nothing' fits these guys other than IH stuff ><

    18. I know some friends have had to commission clothes OR make them themselves. My MSD's are slim ones, including one Resinsoul boy so I just wind up sewing everything for them instead.

    19. i hate yellowing, I want to display them outside all the time :(

    20. I am aware of that, but knowing whether the shoes is closer to 6cm or 12cm long gives you a good clue.
