1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things that annoy you... *Rant Thread*

Dec 11, 2014

    1. All of these things. All of them.

Also I wish they would at least give you a little bit of an idea about their schedule of releases. Then I would know when to save money.

    2. - Poor lighting in resin color images

      - Resin color images which don't compare all the potential resin colors in the same photo

      - Outdated resin color images (if they've changed the colors they offer or the color of a particular resin color)

      - "Tan" resins which are actually just beige (I'm on the fence with Impldoll Anti-UV brown for this, but it is a very nice olive tone)

      - Not mentioning the resin color a doll is shown in for the promotional photos

      - Seasonal or event resin colors which aren't available later; similarly, resin colors only offered within certain ordering periods

    3. I'm the same on showing clothing for the dolls - you fall in love with the whole doll and you just have to buy it as shown and you go to try & order it and it's sold out... wth??
I just bought a DAD Rey & I loved the wig he was wearing so much but of course they didn't sell it... I had to beg them to sell me one, so I hope it's the same or I'll be mad!!
Also random eyes, I always seem to get ugly colors as well. Do they purposely stock up on ugly color eyes to send to you??

    4. The biggest thing that irks me is when:
      1) they don't have pictures of what the body looks like.
      2) they don't say who made a certain outfit or it's not available for purchase.
      3) dolls are limited (I most likely don't have the funds to pay for them >-<)

    5. Maybe you can exchange eyes xD

They should let you decide from a list! D: So that you at least get to choose a general color, random, etc.

Aggghh! I hate that too! I have loved so many clothes and accessories and they are never available for purchasing on their website >___<

They should keep them in a separate category. It's so painful to see them gone!

    6. Heads that are decidedly "kid" faces put on mature bodies! The more anime-inspired the head is I don't care so much.

    7. Yes, this makes me very uncomfortable. Dollpamm does that with their body line names. "shota" and "loli" are not things I want to add to my collection...

    8. only acceptable junk shots are... crap im too excited to do it right right now shots... i suck with a camera and can't see what i'm shooting most of the time (literal not figurative) and omg 'abnormal' posed poses drive me batty unless it's a quickie candid shot... But even 'put away'I try to pose naturally >< I so get that. (chicken wing arms and broken wrists)

    9. To make big discount right after
When a company display Dolls with such awesome Faceup but they dont put option for it !!

    10. This doll is very pretty, but the make up and height just don't make sense to me!

    11. Baffling anatomy choices for bodies. Mainly super buff bodies for "adolescent" guys and badly sculpted breasts on the gals.

Like... muscles don't look like that unless someone is flexing for show and also dehydrated. It reminds me of renaissance art where the artist just kind of makes up the muscles as he draws them and is not a correct representation of the human form.
I find it quite irksome when the body is paired with a baby-faced head that is better matched with a non-beefcake body.

And then there are the half-sphere boobs slapped onto the torso. This isn't the dark ages: if you don't have a real pair to reference when sculpting, there are plenty on the Internet.
(There was also that one 50cm girl body with a hilarious monkey butt)

    12. LOL. This!
Weird.... like the Loongsoul Dolls breast sculpt...especially the largest one!
(that resemble huge silicone implants on a small frame body)

    13. I had to laugh as I read through this list because all of the posts reflect the way I've felt at some point or another as I searched for my dolls!

Maybe it's just my computer, but I dislike the way the Soom imda site loads. All I get is a super reduced view of the page that doesn't fit my screen. I have to zoom out just to be able to see the pictures and read the text.

Another thing I really dislike is when a company offers only heads and then the photos only show the heads on compatible bodies from the bust up. How are we supposed to judge proportions when we don't get to see 90% of the doll? Aarrrgghhh.

A huge pet peeve for me is waiting six months or more for my doll only to have it arrive incorrectly or damaged. Especially when the problem was one that whoever packed the doll should never have missed. Like a headcap with the magnets put in incorrectly making it impossible to put the cap on. Or, as happened just recently, sending me a doll with a broken finger on one hand and no finger in the box at all. It had to have been broken before it was shipped out. Also sending the wrong hands, wrong head, etc. etc.

    14. 1) No photo of the naked doll standing face-on to the camera so you get an accurate view of the proportions.

      2) Clothes sale photos that are "artistic" instead of detailed (it's not just doll companies that do this, and it's infuriating!!!)

If I'm shopping for trousers I want to see how they fit at the waist (and where the waistband falls on the doll body). I don't want artistiacally-posed photo's of a doll wearing those trousers with a shirt hanging over the top of them (or an arm in the way of the details). I don't want to see a doll in a dress where the picture is taken from above! I want full-on-front-view so I can see where the hem of the skirt comes to on her legs (above the knee, below the knee, mid calf? You can't tell if the shot is angled down from above).

It's not as if the clothing they sell is cheap and I don't want to shell out for something (often costing more than I pay for my own clothing) only to find that it doesn't work when I get it and put it on the doll.

    15. To add to the company photos, when they don't have the doll make eye contact with the camera. I understand you're trying to be artsy and good for you, but I'm about to drop hundreds of dollars, give me a closeup with and without wig, a profile shot, or at LEAST 3/4 and always include the body review/nekkid pictures so I can actually see what the bare bones, naked doll looks like.

YES. Iplehouse has that little window right at the top - that's perfect. Explains sizing and what's included, THEN they get into the pictures. (Good pictures of faceup options for most dolls as well!)

Exactly. I want close up, straight on, no artsy-fartsy lighting or anything. Show me what I'm buying, not what the doll could become. Also profile because I hate weirdly pointy elf noses.

THIS ISNT EVEN THAT DIFFICULT. ITS ONE EXTRA SENTENCE THAT PREVENTS A BUNCH OF PEOPLE ASKING!

YES, seasonal weather limitations I get, but come on. Tan should be just scout standard now, right?

Going along with the quote above this one... I'd also like a blank photo of each sculpt in all available resin colors. I know that's a far flung dream, but that'd be GREAT.

I just have a bit of an issue with that in general, as an MSD collector, that's mostly what I get "stuck with". I don't want mid-teens/adolescents, I want 20-something's.

"Here's a 12 year old face with the body of 80s Schwarzenegger."

"We have perfected this beautiful sculpt, we need an equally pleasin-USE ALL THE RESIN. ALL OF THE BALLOON BOOBS!"

    16. In the comments I ALWAYS include "please include blue or green (or whatever I'm feeling) eyes if possible"

I almost always get a gorgeous pair. Usually blue, but it still leaves some sort of randomization.

So far the general concensus is "SHOW US WHAT WE ARE GIVING YOU MONEH FOR"

    17. Man, I wish I had thought to do that for Ilya! Truth be told, I didn't even really think about the eyes until a while after I ordered. I'm definitely gonna remember to make a little note next time, just in case.

    18. Doll "ads" that put dolls in weird dioramas too. Where you actually wonder what the heck in going on in the mind of the company staff.

      • x 2
    19. This. So. Much.

Sometimes I don't want to buy the entire doll only to have another floating head (that needs a body again) in my collection! Or sometimes I don't want to pay >$500 for just a head sculpt that comes with a free body!
