1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things that are hard to find that you would like to see more of

Mar 24, 2010

    1. Zaoll sized anything
      Commissions for FtM modifying
      faceup/modifying people in the UK/Europe
doll anything in the UK/Europe - so much postage T_T.x

    2. Amazonian woman

Though the petite builds and face sculpts are a selling point for many collectors, it would have been nice to be offered some alternatives. I am talking broad shoulders and high cheekbones, kinda like Wonder-woman

    3. More 5-6 wigs that are not made of fur...

    4. Martin Freeman.

Uhm. I mean male dolls that are cute, but masculine. Friendly. Squashy little noses and squarish jaws. Big ears, like Russel Tovey (because maybe I'm thinking about making a "George" from Being Human).... which brings me to ... more werewolf parts.

Knitting patterns that aren't sweaters. (I really need to get the time to go through all the knitting threads here)

    5. I think you could achieve that fairly easily with a transparent plastic tube (like a poster tube or something) or maybe even a big glass jar or vase... Add some clay details and electric wire and set it on top of one of those ring-shaped or circular LED display thingies:

      :)

Edit: I assumed you meant a standing stasis tube... But for a horizontal one you could use the same idea, only you would need a different shape of LEDs.

    6. Good looking glasses and sunglasses! I always want my doll to have sunglasses like mine! hahah!

    7. More styles of clothing for odd-sized dolls.

More props and accessories and furniture.

      Hmmm... maybe custom wig styling?

      Different kinds of hats?

    8. I'd say, shoes that are not platform. I hate those! They're everywhere! Also, ballet outfits. Nice handbags and backpacks! Wigs that can be styled different ways without having to buy different ones all the time.

    9. I want realistic bird parts and rabbit ears. My need has not been sated, though I have looked before.

Jointed feet. That is, ones where the ball of the foot is articulated, allowing the doll to stand on their toes without high-heeled feet. If hands, then why not feet?

    10. Because hands don't need to carry the weight of the doll. I've seen some OOAK handmade BJD's with a joint at the ball of their feet, but those are all anthro's: Things like mice or foxes who usually walk on their toes. And their toes are all made huge. It's just very hard to balance a doll without the feet being a solid base. Shoes (with or without heels) provide some sturdyness to the feet of course, but nude it would be very tricky.
It's possible, but the risk of face-plants increases so much that I don't think any company would do it.

    11. Domuya dolls have jointed feet. they are out of production now but still come up on the marketplace and ebay.

    12. And they are still available trough the dollpeddlar.

    13. When I was looking for sculpts for my first doll, I really wanted a doll with a smiling face (not neutral or sad or intense) that had elf ears. I really couldn't find anything, so I would like that. I also agree about the furniture. More kimono options. Um, there's probably a lot more but I can't think of any more right now.

This. It's so hard to find a male sculpt I like, because they all look like girls to me. But then the ones that do look masculine always have a mean look to them. So I would like to see more variety in male sculpts.

    14. I think having more dolls that aren't plain skinny would be interesting. Girls who are actually plus sized or a guy who doesn't have perfectly sculpted abs would be cool. I like a variety of body types.

    15. A 1:3 scale crossbow! :D

    16. Ah, it makes sense that most companies wouldn't go to the trouble of sculpting an extra set of feet that don't work as well and only a handful of people would buy. Except Domuya, it seems. I'll remember them, when I actually have money XD

    17. A decent helmet for SD dolls.

I finally have an almost-definite plan for my RD Sol (who is expected to arrive very shortly) and yet I cannot find the perfect helmet. As there isn't much choice out there. I suppose, I could either buy one to modify into something that remotely represents what I want it to look like. Or, I somehow make it from scratch (or commission someone to do it for me)...
