1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things that are hard to find that you would like to see more of

Mar 24, 2010

    1. Thanks Jany and Yuan_mdx I was able to find a few things I like. All I need to do is save for them :)

    2. Glass eyes in odd-numbered sizes. I don't like the way 16mm looks in my dolls'. 14mm have the right iris size, but are a bit too small for their eye-sockets and they gap badly. (I'm trying out some Eyeco Silicone eyes, but aesthetically, I think I really prefer glass.)

    3. Which there were doll shops near-by to view the actual doll before a purchase. To be able to hold a sample doll - see how well it poses, ease of dressing, quality of resin, etc.

    4. Reviving this thread! :)

Twyla, my Luna Tamer EID girl needs 1950s-styled dresses and clothes since she's a Audrey Hepburn fan. I found ONE person on etsy that made summer dresses, I bought out nearly her entire stock when I had the money. I've found one other that had a couple a while back, once I save more money, I plan on going back to see if they're still available.

Twyla still needs more dresses, a winter coat, a light jacket and lots of other 1950s-styled stuff. And its difficult if not impossible to find. :(

    5. I need an ancient Egyptian throne room diorama. I need a copy of Hetephere's throne in scale to fit a Iplehouse EID. I need a pirate ship in SD13 scale ( okay, never going to happen, and no place to sail it, since I live in the landlocked Mid West!) Oh, and a dirigible. Okay, face it, I am going to have to learn to make it all.

In case anyone else is looking for Egyptian thrones, you can find copies of Tutankamun's that are in scale to MSDs on ebay, made of resin.

    6. Extra doll parts like legs and arms. Maybe fantasy parts for sale separately. Aside from heads, hands and feet, they're a lot harder to find if you're modding a doll or want to purchase just parts.

    7. Antique stores would be a great place to look! They're already stocked full of miniatures, so there's bound to be old-fashioned doll sized stuff like that :D

    8. Fancy leather carrying cases. A lot of doll companies sell them but i'd love to see more on etsy. More boots for smaller boys. Was a nightmare trying to find the right size. Even then it was a finger crossing adventure when they came in the mail. Maybe molds for eyeballs and other things. I've seen a few but over all they feel rare. English how to books. Clothing is simple. If you don't see it just, find a pattern and make it smaller. But it's a lot of effort. What would be nice is a base for environments. I want to give my doll a house but I will probably need to make it all myself. That's gonna be a night mare.

    9. A briefcase for a 70cm. 60cm ones just look small. :(

    10. Mature clothing and footwear for Tinies. I've got a set of LTFs who are adult "chibis," and need adult-looking clothing to suit that concept.

    11. I found a plastic music box that looks like an old fashioned sewing machine- It needs a taller table, and maybe a new paint job, but it is totally the right size for my SD! I got it in a raffle at Doll A-Kon, but I bet you could find them on ebay or maybe etsy? For bigger dolls, there are actually functioning vintage toy sewing machines- they're about 8 inches wide though..

    12. Armour. Chainmail and proper plate armour. I couldn't find any to fit my guys. Luckily, I found some anvils, hammers, pliers, split rings and sheet metal. So soon I will... Well, I'll give it a shot, anyway!

(And by 'found' I mean bought. Because who has anvils lying around? Well, me now, apparently. Still, my now retired dad likes to feel useful so at least he gets consulted on my hair brained schemes...)

    13. Feather wigs, especially short ones. I love the way they look, but I can't find anyone that does commissions for them or anything! I guess I'll have to learn how to make them myself.

Also I agree with all the MSD shoe woes. Aelic has a pair of Vans that work really well, but I'd like to find some more. (I think I got those from Dollmore, maybe I'll look there again...)

    14. one of those canes blind people use or even a cane in general. like one the dolls on my wishlist is going to be blind so that would be nice to have. also you know those ball and chain shackle that prisoners wear in old movies and cartoons? cant find any of those either.

    15. I'm following someone that makes kigurumis for dolls. I really love them. ;_; I'd love to see more and more. Also I love overalls, but can't really seem to find many (mostly, I mean for sale).

    16. We must be twins! Those are the 3 things I most want, too.
But I'll add one more thing to that list: A macabre, Evil Queen Diorama complete with a crystal casket, black raven throne, and the entire scene painted in hues of blue, silver, and black.
Oh yeah! You bet we're going to have to make them ourselves. :thumbup

    17. Animal, or pet dolls that are SD sized ;.;

    18. I'd love to see more:
Doll sculpts that have a slight smile
      Shark toothed dolls
Ram horns that magnetically attach to your dolls head
      Doll weaponry
      Horror themed dolls
      Genderless body sculpts
Eyes where the whites of the eyes are black
Realistically styled doll costumes and clothes
      More variety in body types
Furniture pieces and accessories that are properly to scale (pun intended) including things like:
      • Doll wheelchairs, canes, etc.
      • Doll instruments
      • Doll food
      • Doll furniture in general but more historical or strangely themed furniture

    19. Is "everything" a legitimate answer to this? If I have to choose one or two things, it would definitely be European-style fantasy clothing and affordable furniture scaled for larger dolls.

    20. I completely understand why there aren't more of these, but dolls with ethnic (specifically Black/western African) features that come in dark brown colors. Color me surprised that Mirodoll is one of the few companies that offers such a combination, given that they produce the most affordable dolls on the market. A variety would be nice, but I'll just appreciate my Mika that much more for the rarity she is :)
