1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things that are hard to find that you would like to see more of

Mar 24, 2010

    1. Omg, seconding this so hard! I knew I'd forgotten something. Yeah, sci fi clothes are basically impossible to find. :vein I've pretty much given up on shelling some characters from sci fi stories of mine because they wouldn't have anything to wear.

    2. Formal SD boys' clothes. I must have missed the 60 cm train, because everything I see is always made for Iplehouse or Dollshe or dolls like them and are too big. I feel like I'm imagining somehow because it seems like it should be easy to find. And the shoes... They all seem to start from 8.5 cm. My poor boys have 7 cm feet and I prefer a close fit. One is now wearing girl's shoes, and the other, who isn't nearly effeminate enough in his styling to get away with that, I am going to try steaming some large 1/4 shoes onto his feet. Probably won't work, but I figure it's worth a shot. I'm probably going to have to get clothes tailored from Freedom Teller it something in the end.

On the other hand, clothes that fit seem to simply fall into my girl's lap, and she doesn't even care how she looks.

    3. I have a hard time finding shoes for slim MSD boys with feet bigger than Minifee feet. I have only ever found one pair that was properly sized and it was for a Tonner doll. I looked everywhere. Slim MSD boy clothes are pretty hard to find too.

    4. Pleated skirts that would be school legal on an MSD - seems like everything I find is just a skirt version of Daisy Duke shorts. I'd also love some dressy dresses that aren't club wear or Lolita style.

    5. It is difficult for me to find pants and shoes for a LoongSoul 70, since they have wide hips and feet.

    6. All of them.

I just accepted long ago that if I want things to fit well, I'm going to have to find places that work with custom measurements, commission someone, or learn how to sew/tailor. I guess I'm attracted to weird bodies...?

Also, I have trouble finding things that are just right style wise, but that's way less annoying than fit for me. Not enough punk/low key gothy stuff that looks authentic out there.

Side note, sentences that sound bizarre out of context: "I guess I'm attracted to weird bodies."

    7. Fantasy, and science fiction style for me is the most difficult to find. Non existent really. I am happy with the bjd clothing collection I have, though. Three favourite places I purchase from, and more than happy with. One day will make my own again.

    8. Fantasy and medieval clothes for both males and females. Everywhere I see casual and loly styles :vein Loly dresses everywhere already annoying me.
Also I'm waiting for slim SD girl with shapes like 22-15-25 cm and I can't find anything suit for her. All clothes I managed to find is for Iplehouse SID/EID bodies, Supergem, Feeplee and DD sizes. All of them have so big breasts :c I feel there are another girls in same small shapes, like Resinsoul, Doll Chateau, Dollzone and etc... But nowhere clothes for them!
And now - bingo. I'm trying to find fantasy outfit for her. :doh

    9. Fantasy clothing. Lord of the rings type of stuff. Flats for 60cm that aren’t frilled and bowed and loli style. I’m trying to pick up shoe making for that reason.

    10. I have some doll chateau girls that have a very extreme pear shape (The hips are twice the shoulders). Naturally, finding shirts that fit is a pain no matter what size they are.

    11. Pants for 70cm+ boys! It always seems that if they're long enough, they're too wide in the waist, or narrow on the hips - or if they fit the waist, they're too short - and sometimes they're just too tight in the crotch to fit, er, shall we say, an overabundance of junk. It's maddening how wide the variety of shapes has become in relation to how few companies offer a decent selection of clothing to fit their own dolls.

    12. Most difficult to find is what you want right now. And shoes. Because their size is hard to change.

    13. Shoes! Always shoes! I have mostly SD's and of course they're all different companies, which means that the boots I bought for my Feeple60 Carol went to Kylo, because they fit 68cm Mirodoll feet better for some reason :huh?: The tiny gal I have was literally luck of the draw, and now she's good to go.

I make a good portion of my own doll clothes (though I will buy for them/commission for special things), so there's that as well--patterns are not one size fit all and the testing is aggravating sometimes.

    14. More sophisticated styles in flat heeled shoes. It's bad enough heels don't fit every arch the right way at times. It would be nice to find something without satin rosettes or made of patent leather or having huge buckles. Indeed, with the tiny amount of material required, why not use real leather while you're at it.

Handbags of the right scale are far and few in between.

    15. So with you on that one - I've spent a small fortune on doll shoes and boots over the years, many of which are now shedding their faux-leather surface and looking awful when they've had no "wear" to speak of.

    16. Gagh! I have a pair of 9Nine boots..the finish was crocking off. I put four layers of Sculpy clear gloss on them to save them but the damage was done. They don't look bad but shiny wasn't the look I was going for.

A pair of beige Volks shoes with stitched on pleated bows ripping away from the stitches. Dunno what I'll do for them.

    17. Shoes are really pain to find! Especially because exact size isn't given, usually. SD shoes, MSD shoes...isn't helpful at all. Not all SDs etc. have same foot size. It's very variable.

Lack of medieval and medieval fantasy clothing! My dolls are mostly elves, so it's quite a problem. I also have some plans to make doll versions of my favourite historical figures, so I will have to sew everything myself.

    18. I have a hard time finding literally anything for my Ringdoll Dracula on the RGM-03 body. I probably would have gotten him anyway, but I do wish I'd known ahead of time what an absolute pain it is to dress those men. I wrongly assumed that he could fit any 70cm clothes because most MSDs seemed to be able to share clothes. But noooooo. He just has to be obscenely buff!

Blue Blood Dolls sells a few things that fit him a bit loosely. I'm fine with that as long as I can get them on him. It's just not very fun to shop for someone so difficult.

    19. Honestly its shockingly hard to find stuff for 70cm girls that aren't Iplehpouse. I have a Loongsoul and two Dollmore girls and I pretty much sew all their clothes.
