1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Things that are hard to find that you would like to see more of

Mar 24, 2010

    1. More doll furniture/mini appliances/food available.

      More affordable clothes, overall.

    2. It is frustrating to find the right small scale printed fabrics for making clothing for the BJD's. My search never stops.
Recently Hancocks of Paducah's fabric website has small scale printed fabric with crosses on them, black crosses on white, & white crosses on black. I purchased these special fabrics as quickly as I can afford as I know they sell out fast. Small scale printed fabrics seem to come and go away with the changes in fashions.

Making wooden-based furniture was something I thought I could do in my Mom's basement at my late father's work bench. However, I might try making furniture using a heavy strong wire base with paper-mache instead as my Mom has decided to move to Florida & live with my sister & family.
The BJD's are a challenge to make furniture for due to their different sizes, the way they sit, long legs, etc. The cushions I will use plastic pellets with the batting fill material, this might help position the bjd's in an upright seated postition, more natural, than the dollfie-slump. Fabrics for furniture I thought to be a problem to find, however, some fabric sellers now feature small scale, finer weave, finer print upholstery fabrics.
Anyway, I love reading others' suggestions & wants. I look forward to when I can set my own work schedule, have my own workspace, less interruptions, etc.

Thank you, & I look forward to reading more of what all of you have to share with us.

    3. I got an awesome MSD sized spa bath tub for $10 at Walmart on clearance, it even came with a dollieh sized luffa! Have I mentioned I love clearance shopping and garage sailing? I'm also eyeing an MSD sized bed they have as well, but that one will have to wait until next paycheck. Here is Evie showing of the uber cute luffa. <3

    4. OOoooooo!! Spa bath! I expect to see a gallery thread with bubbles! :) Random clearance stuff is great. Big flea markets, too. And TJ Maxx and Ross (and other such random house-stuff places) can yeild some great finds... including seasonal witch decortive dolls that can be stripped down and used for costume pieces for dollies!!

    5. What kind of BJD products would you prefer to be more of.
For example I personally am having a lot of trouble Finding SD sized furniture, It would be really great to see more of it. I also have trouble finding whimsical/fantasy clothing for SD boys.
I guess the answer Is to make your own stuff, but sometimes you're just not in the mood, or don't have the time and wish you could just buy it.
So let me know what you guys wish there was more of :)

    6. Furniture for larger dolls. I would love to find some wooden Sheraton/Chippendale style chairs & tables sized for SDs & EIDs. I can't see myself able to make them properly.

    7. I'm in total agreement about the SD-sized furniture. I'm not really...handy, so anything I could make will probably look like ze poop. I also don't have a lot of space to do anything nice (out of say...wood rather than cardboard or other crafting supplies), so it'd be nice to see more of that. Short of begging my parents to make furniture for me, I'm out of luck there!

    8. Furniture for MSDs, too! D: (I mean, at least with SDs, I've seen people convert pet beds and American Girl furniture, and it looks proportionate..) Ohhh, and dolly-sized mattresses (I've seen a couple--but...yeah, that was about it. xD) What else...? I feel like there was so much more I wanted to have, but now I'm blanking. I feel like there's a shortage of boy clothes in general, though (which is odd...because there seem to be way more guy dolls than girls, but..)

More props in general would be nice, though. (:

    9. I like doll-sized props, so I like seeing regular, people-sized things turned into doll props. I like how some stores have things like doll-sized cigarettes, iPads, laptops, and cellphones, and I'd like to see more things like that - more human things that are in-scale to dolls.

Furniture isn't really a must for me because I don't have a place to put it. It would be somewhat bothersome for me to have any.

I'd also like to see more hanging around clothes. I'd like to see more pants for SDs that aren't skinny jeans (I've seen them - heck, I even have a pair for my doll - but they're hard to come by). My doll just doesn't seem like the kind to wear skinny jeans. I'd also like to see more t-shirts for every size. I see a lot of dressy/casual tops, but t-shirts and regular street clothes I don't see a lot of, either. I'd also like to see brighter colors for clothes.

I'm more interested in the props than the clothes, though. Even though I'm not sure how I'd get those props into a picture, it's still nice to know they exist.

    10. Nth-ing the desire for 1/3-scale furniture. I have a very strong idea of the setting I want for my dolls, and it looks like I'm going to have to make all the furniture for them myself! Which, while it will be interesting and allow me more control over the finished product, is going to almost certainly be very pricey and very time-consuming.

It would be nice to be able to buy things like lamps and end tables pre-made, instead of having to think how to make them myself :XD:

I'd also love to see more 1/3-scale horse models. There are a couple out there, but only in a couple of breeds and a couple of poses. I definitely want to eventually have 4-5 horses for my dolls, so the lack of variety would be quite noticeable.

    11. I would really love to see nicer MSD boy clothing :/ I always see stunning outfits and coats and accessories for SD boys but MSD boys kind of get shafted. Most of the clothing is too child like or edgy. I would like to see more sophisticated, chic, fashionable items. And more msd accessories/props, like glasses and such.

    12. Hmm ... other than furniture, I'd definitely have to say weapons, especially more modern ones, that look in-scale and relatively accurate/convincing. I've got a big 75cm fellow who's practically a walking arsenal, but I've had to hunt just to accumulate the small miscellaneous jumble of weapons I have for him right now -- an AUG rifle, an M14 rifle, a Browning M3 machine gun, a couple of Mark XIX Desert Eagle (.50 AE) handguns, and a combat knife. I'd love to be able find some good miniature replica grenades, or maybe even a bazooka.

    13. I don't really care either way about furniture. I don't have room to store it and would rather spend my money on dolls and clothes/wigs/etc. for them, but I guess it would be nice to have more available on the off-chance I ever want some.

I would LOVE to see wigs of all sizes done in traditional Japanese styles. A greater variety of authentic kimono (I'm kind of including yukata, hakama, etc. in this category just for the time being) would thrill me too. I know some places out there offer super-authentic ones, but they can be hard to find and tend to be limited in style (yes, there are multiple styles of kimono). I think ethnic clothing that isn't Japanese, Chinese, or Korean would be nice too. A larger selection of clothing for oddly-sized dolls, like Iplehouse JID girls, EID men, or the Model Dolls with the glamor bust, would also be nice. And yes, I could make all of those things -- in fact I intend to make several of the things I mentioned -- but like Morinaga said sometimes it's nice to just be able to buy what you want and not have to jump through all kinds of hoops to make it yourself.

    14. This. I actually, quite recently, sold my MSD boy because of frustrations with buying him clothes. I'm not the type to keep my dolls in a single outfit for long periods of time, and it seems most dealers just do not make clothes for MSD boys.

    15. I would have to agree about the furniture. Right now my boys are kind of just sitting on my desk, which works since it has an area they fit, but it doesn't look very good.

    16. I second the need for weapons. All kinds really. Both modern and older/fantasy.
      And Nth furnitures.

    17. I would have to agree with the MSD size Furniture. I know that alot of the american girl stuff fits the MSD size but l find that e-bay wants an arm/leg for there AG stuff.

    18. Another for not only MORE SD furniture, but more affordable! I simply cannot pay $200+ for a nice couch. My MSD guys are easy, I have full livingroom, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and offices for them, but SD seems a lot harder. My dad makes excellent furniture, but I feel kind of guilty asking him for a lot, since he does so much for me already and is a busy man.

Also, more mature clothes and accessories for MSD. Books, glasses, business attire, office supplies...I would LOVE a hookah!

Tshirts for everybody, and not anime related. Seems most tshirts I do find are in some way anime related and that just doesn't fit any of my dolls. Adult Swim or just funny tshirts would be better.

    19. Scaled fabric prints for dolls! Thank goodness for Spoonflower.

30+.. do you think we should start a new thread or wait for the mods to respond?

    20. How the heck.... Is this the Age 30 thread or what??? I'm looking at the topic and I'm like - I did NOT subscribe to that!!

And yes, the most difficult thing to find for dolls is period style clothes. Especially since I have oddly proportioned dolls - I always have to have things custom made. :x

Do any of you have any idea how much I love my puki??? WELL I DO!!! I thought my littlefee (10") would be my favorite but my 4" one is my favorite, I carry her everywhere, I just can't believe how much I lovez her!

Oooh, speak of the little devilette:

Actually, she's not a little devil at all. Herz a little angel!

YAY for jewelry box furniture!!! :aheartbea
