1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things you said you wouldn't do but did anyway.

Nov 19, 2013

    1. I swore I'd never get mini- or tiny- sized dolls... so much for that! I also said I'd never want one of those creepy-looking Rengemaru/Suzuna sculpts and now it's one of my all-time favorites (and Suzuna is a permanent part of my collection), also no elf-eared dolls, no dolls with fantasy parts... my rules must be made to be broken! (Next thing you know I'll be putting my poor Isao in a dress - something I swore to him I'd never do!)

    2. Save up for an SD.

    3. I swore I would never get a doll smaller than an SD, but then I got my first MSD.. But I sold her. Then I got a YoSD, he's so adorable that I ended up keeping him. Now, I have two MSDs ordered, I'm planning to get another MSD in the future. Then maybe another YoSD, but I still haven't found the perfect one. oTL

The other one is to do face ups, but I've done a couple now. Then another thing I said I'd never do is put tattoos on my dolls, since I was very afraid of staining them. Both my big guys have pretty large wing tattoos on their backs. My girl is going to get hers. I plan to give my "little angels" some sort of wings. xD

    4. Following the trend of this thread... I've recently started to be drawn to a couple of SDs again. :sigh With the cost, I certainly can't do anything on impulse (nevermind that one's totally unavailable right now and the other is unavailable/discontinued/going to be a secondhand quest if FairyLand doesn't re-release his sculpt), but I'm going to let this one sit and simmer a bit, and I might end up with SDs again after all, with my fingers crossed that this time things work out better. (Maybe the pair will do the trick where a single one failed? It's terrible that BJDs seem to work better in multiples...)

    5. Said I wouldn't buy a doll this year. Buying two.

    6. I said no more than 6 and I'm looking forward to a body coming in for a floating head, which will make 7. I'm close but my will is weak. I have several other floating heads that won't work on current bodies, so what's a girl to do????

    7. This happens with all of my hobbies, but I set a price and swear not to go over. When I got into resin dolls, I said I wouldn't go over $300...then it was $400... I currently have a doll on layway for $700:doh And it will continue going downhill. I've also said to myself that I would NEVER buy an SD. That is until I saw SupiaDoll Lina and fell head over heels in love with her, so now I'm saving up for her too.

    8. I said I would never get a floating head, and I have two now. I said I'd never change a character... And my first doll is completely different now. I never wanted to order directly from a Chinese/Korean company just in case something went wrong and we couldn't understand each other well (and the shipping!!) and now I've done that too. There's more on my list of things that I say I'll never do but probably will in the future (like spend over $300 on a blank doll, haha right)

    9. I said that I wouldn't buy any dolls I didn't already have characters in mind for. My first doll was completely unexpected, and I had to wait for him to tell me who he was. And tonight I just ordered two more dolls I don't have characters for!

Which brings me to my second... I ordered a doll last weekend, and told myself no more for six months, minimum. But then I ordered two more tonight...!

Oh well. XD I am going to be patient, though, and I know exactly when I am ordering my next doll after this (because it will be with next year's tax refund), and what character he will be... he was supposed to me my first, but now he's going to be my 5th!

    10. "I'll only have two dolls" mhmm yea, THAT went out the window in about 3 months lol. Now I have.... 10? Little over a year later.

"I'll only get dolls that go together"
Again, was broken within 3 months, lol. I got an adult msd, my first was a SD and not on the small end lol.

      "I only want human dolls"
I now have 5 fantasy dolls, one catgirl, 4 pony people(most of whom need parts lol)

"I'll be very careful with them"
Pfft, one of my dolls likes climbing trees. Everyone else gets played with by kids (a pair of six year olds, my daughter and my niece). So far, only the paint has been damaged, and its not really noticeable anyway

"I'll only carry my dolls in special bags just for them"
.... This happens.... Never, lol. They ride in a duffle bag on wheels if I take all of them somewhere. A sewing machine bag if its just a few, and one of my minis rides in my purple bag of holding, aka, my purse. Only one doll has her own carrier and its not ready yet lol.

    11. Broke another rule I'd set for myself... I swore I'd never sell a doll. Sad days.

    12. 1. I would never buy a YoSD. Never. Too small. Too hard to dress.

      Sakuranbo. >.> YoSD.

      2. Never buy another smaller doll, too small! Too hard to dress!

Plans to buy Xaga Doll 1/6 Lara and co ASAP because they remind me of a resin version of a popular and way too expensive plastic doll I've always loved but they are RESIN and that makes all the difference. (and my 1/3 girl with 3 heads needs a 1/3 dolly....She told me this. Seriously.)

      3. Never would have floating heads.

I have two now, and they will continue to share that body because I can't find a better posing body for them.

      4. Would never like Iplehouse boys. They are just to 'human' shaped, too unbalanced looking for a BJD (mind you this is my opinion).

My friend's SID guy is adorkable. WANT!

      5. Would never like those huge freaking Soom guys.

Same friend, Soom Idealian, awesome to work with. Still, scary his face falls off sometimes and his brains show....eugh......Still, putting wiggly plastic eyes on said brain was pretty hysterical.

      6. I would stop at 3 dolls. Never was I going to have more dolls than I 'needed'.

HAH! I have to stop and count on fingers by name now. >.>;; And I often forget some. I NEED MOAR!

      7. None of my dolls would never ever have to go naked for more than a week after getting one.

Kiki my 1/4 girl finally has clothes of her own. She was living in a man's suit pocket type handkerchief for years while I made clothing for everyone else. *hands head* I'm a baaaaad mom.

    13. I said I would make all of the clothing for my doll.

I have managed to make one full outfit in the years I have had her.

    14. I think we can all say we said this:

      "ONLY ONE."

      And that plan died instantly.

    15. Last year I was absolutely sure I'd stay with fashion dolls and never buy a resin BJD - I've got three now :) Then I was pretty sure I'd focus just on MSD size - now considering YOSD :) And now I'm quite sure I'd never buy an SD - ask me next year

    16. After deciding that 70+cms was perfect size for me I declared I would never get another under at least 65cms. I now have two tinies as I could not pass up bjds with Naga tails:)

    17. 1) Swore I'd never buy another doll, yet I'm waiting for my second one right now.

      2) I'd never get anything smaller than a 60cm. My second doll is 45cm.

      3) ABSOLUTLY NO 80CM!!!!!! Unless someone offers me an IoS Lacrimosa. ;D

    18. I swore never to get MSD or smaller.... Yeah, right. It think my pukipuki would disagree... :sweat

    19. /stares at a potential second boy thinking "I wouldn't buy you until my first one arrives"
Well I bought him a week later anyway haha xD

    20. I said I will never ever get a MSD but yeah my first Bjd was a MSD XD
