1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things you said you wouldn't do but did anyway.

Nov 19, 2013

    1. I always say I'll never buy Yo SDs again. I always end up breaking that rule xp.

    2. I always said I wouldn't want a boy, I didn't really like them. But then I saw JID Boris, and it was all decided. ~

    3. I told myself I wouldn't fall into the trap of buying a LE as my first doll. Well, so much for that. Meanwhile, my first doll isn't even here yet, and I'm already planning my second one.

    4. I was NOT going to but DC Dolores and Christina on layaway together for 6 months. Nope. Too long. Too much money. Yep I did it. Yep I love them. And yep I am so glad I did!

    5. I was not going to have more than 6 dolls and I wouldn't have an MSD. Broke both of those, the second one just a few minutes ago.

      But I'm happy!

    6. I decided I would wait until I received any awaited doll before buying the next. Fairyland's LE Real Pukis broke that one. I don't have my previous doll from them yet. I also meant to avoid LEs to avoid impulsive purchases, but he is PERFECT. So no way I'm going to regret it.

    7. ...Yep. That one fell, too. There's nothing left on my "things I wouldn't do that I haven't done" list now. :sweat

    8. I said.. Only TWO bjds.. that's IT.. TWO..

I have four now. 2 SD girls, SD boy and MSD girl..

and now I want two more.

    9. I think the only thing I said I wouldn't do was spend over $100 on an outfit.....and that went out the window a week after I bought my first doll (and my mom was actually the one that encouraged me to do it even though she freaked out when she found out how much I spent on Nadeko)

    10. Buy a girl doll.
      Who I LOVE.
      Secretly she is my favorite!

    11. I wasn't going to get tiny dolls, because I thought they were too small and fiddly. But my first doll ended up being a tiny, and since three of the five dolls I've purchased so far are tinies, they make up most of my collection.

    12. Minifees. Hated the leg joint. Now I'll just hot glue it! I have 2 new ones being made.

    13. I said I would never buy anything larger than 16cm dolls since I started the hobby collecting Lati yellows and the larger dolls seemed too big and "creepy" for me. But then I ended up getting Minette from Soom. I justified that by saying to myself that they are not really larger than my Blythe dolls and she's a fantasy doll so that was ok and I would not order larger than a Yo in the furture. I also said I would never want a more mature looking doll but now I've found myself looking at Iplehouse K.I.D dolls and Minifees. I haven't ordered yet but I have a feeling I'll be taking the plunge sometime this year.... :sweat

Of course the biggest "I will not" that has been broken is that I've always said I wouldn't spend so much (as in a couple hundred of dollars) on a doll but that went out the window real quick.

    14. I said I would only get one doll at first, but then my girl was lonely. Then I said I would only get two dolls... Hahaha...
Also once said that I'd never let a stranger hold my doll. At a bjd meet I actually was surprised at how I was okay with a few people, whom I just met, holding her.
Also, never thought I'd be shopping for their stuff and getting deeper into the hobby. :)

    15. Said I wouldn't sell a doll, said if I already own it, may as well keep it. I've already sold one doll, and I plan on selling up to three more in the coming months just due to having so many dolls, and wanting different ones at the same time. I have so many more dolls than I thought I would, I suppose that rule was bound to get broken, but I do follow one rule when selling, only sell the doll for less than I paid, I bought that doll thinking of it as forever, the least I can do is make sure it goes to a good home with someone who will appreciate it, rather than trying to just make a buck off of it.

    16. At first I told myself I wasn't going to get into dolls at all. My roommates had a few and then I caved because I found out they were so pretty and I really loved how you could customize them.
Next,I said I was just going to have one doll...and now I have 3. (and I want more >_>)
NEXT I said I wasn't going to have an SD sized doll because theyre so big and heavy....but that happened too.... So I dont really believe myself anymore.

    17. Nothing smaller than a mini doll! Yeah! Wait, found a couple of teenie tiny second hand dolls that I thought were cute on ebay. Scratch that idea.

Ah, but no floating heads, floating heads are much too creepy for me to deal with. Hang on, oops, I've got several due to hybrid dolls. Eh, oh dearie.

Well, at least they all have eyes right? Dollies shouldn't be left without eyes. Yeah...about that...

Okay, I should instead then not spend too much on doll outfits. I mean, I won't spend $100 on an outfit for myself typically. Ah...thanks Soom for the really pretty outfit you have there!

    18. I said I'd never buy an SD....annnnnd now I have my April Story Jackdaw. AND I plan on getting 2 more big boys from Migidoll. So...yeah.. ^^

    19. I, too, said I would make all my own doll clothes. I don't know why I thought that. I had never sewn a darn thing until my dolls came into my life. And they are so beautiful. And my hand made clothes are so not. They deserve nice things too.

    20. "I'll never buy outfits - I'll only make them." That one actually worked for a very short while. I make cloth dolls, too, and always had to make their clothes as well. Plus, when Fawn arrived, she could share clothes with most of my cloth dolls. So, cool. So good so far......

Then I bought a Pukipuki and realized the sad truth - there is no way in heck I can sew for a doll that small. I have enough trouble sewing for the Pukifees. So that went out the window.

My "no impulse buys" rule was broken when I saw a Pukifee Mio on eBay and just HAD to have her. I love her, so it worked out well.
