New rule: Don't waste time making rules about what I won't buy from IH?.... should be able to manage that one LOL.

 

My rules were so funny when I started!

-I'll only get one, my grail doll. That went out the window when she was discontinued.
-Okay, I'll save up for one at a time, and go in order of the characters I have planned. Oops. I have 4 dolls and one on way and only one is a character I had, and she's out of order.
-I really only need one girl in each size, so I can have clothes options. 2 SDs, 2 MSDs (one I ordered this week), and 1 YoSD right now.
-No fantasy dolls. Hah! I want a centaur so bad!
-No unnatural colored wigs. During a blind wig event DDE sent me a pink one and it was all down hill from there.

The only rules I have for myself right now are NEVER PUT A DOLL ON A CREDIT CARD and STAY OUT OF THE MARKETPLACE IT WILL JUST CAUSE YOU PAIN.

 

I told myself only two.

And then I won a giveaway.

So now I need to even out the numbers, but I want another girl. Which means I'm going to want two boys to even out the number at three boys and three girls.

 

One of my rules was to avoid fullsets. Well, I am at my 2nd.
A new rule I have is to avoid buying the same sculpt and the same body. Looking at Twigling's WIP sculpts that will be offered in fantasy colours, the 'no same body' rule is going to be short-lived.

 

I told myself that I was never going to sell my first doll... but I ended up selling him anyway. Then I said that I'm not going to have more than 2 dolls... but I ended up getting a third one. I'm not a very reliable person ^_^U

Told myself I wasn't going to name my practice head, said I wasn't going to get her a body, wasn't going to get attached, said she was purely to be used for faceup practice.
Named her Arwen, have a body on layway, have grown attached and not even using her for faceup practice since I like the last one I gave her for her character!
Told myself I wasn't going to get any other doll until I could afford my LM Giselle
Put an AS Gus on layaway on impulse two weeks later.

-I never said one doll (i know myself that well at least to limit #'s lol)
- ya one at a time lol 2n & 3rd were on one order.... I currently have 1 on LA (2 payments left), a giant pet doll (it's iple 1/3-1/4 ish panther, and a 75 cm guy bought less than a week ago lol
- one in each size ... ya I want that from Iplehouse... only there is the issue of 2 sets of triplets to shell (one SD one tiny) AND a set of twins... and those damned JID's want same age friends ><... and boyfriends -_-.
- i wasn't interested in fantasy dolls.... until I saw one of a fellow club members... baby white tiger boy... threatened her regularly with 'dollnapping'... she had to sell him... guess who got him lol... I'm sagitrious... I HAD to have a centaur ><...
- also didn't have an interest in non natural hair colors... ya I love rainbow wigs... alot... hard not to buy them when I NEED normal colors for my characters lol
- if I didn't have a cc I wouldn't have dolls >< ... and I don't have much I need/want that is even in the MP so I'm safe for the moment on that score XD

you are so not alone.... and btw... you WILL get your grail... my 2 fantasy dolls were both very limited and long sold out before I ever knew of them.... I own both so ya it's more common than you think to get those kinds of grails.... just takes longer ^^

 

Since I posted, I got my grail doll! I have 2 Angel Elf Soo heads, actually, and one body. I also have the other dolls I was dying for that were discontinued before I started collecting! I just need some bodies now. My complete dolls have grown to 7 and I have 3 heads that need bodies. I just paid off a layaway for a rare limited doll from 2003 and I plan to put down a deposit on another rare limited girl when I get paid at the end of the month!

 

see? I was right! and it does not always take forever Congrats on you ever expanding family!

 

My daughter and I were discussing fears of buying dolls second hand. We both said we didn't think our nerves would allow us to do so. And what happened? Today a beautiful second hand doll jumped out and thumped my daughter right in the wallet. LOL She is a very beautiful doll and made us both think twice and of course she bought the doll. I think we both think differently about it now

I said i was only getting one doll. Now im getting a fsmily of dolls. Its cool though because its just more to love, so i dont mind that change.

 

I said I'd never get Dollstown, they're so ridiculously expensive. But uhm, guess what's on it's way in the mail.

 

I said I would never buy a fairyland doll...I technically haven't yet but she is the next one on my list. I couldn't say no to a minifee celine. Her face is perfect for the character I'm shelling.

 

I said I would never buy dolls with facial 'imperfections', I only want super pretty, gorgeous dolls.

Well, I'm now way more interested in sculpts with kind of unusual and/or realistic features.
Like prominent noses, small eyes, mods, scars etc.

 

Oh, I'll only have one doll...... that didn't take long to find out I was wrong.
I'll just stick to the 70cm range...... but then tinies are so cute and more affordable!
Only boys...... well, okay, one girl, now I want a few more.
Okay, no msd size..... there's 2 in my wish list.
I don't want anthros..... that was a lie, now I have one and he's so cute!
I have no interest in fantasy sculpts...... also a lie.
I'll just buy stuff for them so I don't make a mess....... now I want to make them all kinds of stuff but really just make messes trying.
No floating heads, I don't want to start that...... now there's 2 waiting for bodies. Also, a couple dolls have extra heads so they are never headless.

I quit telling myself all the stuff I wouldn't do, because I'll just turn around and prove myself wrong.
