1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

This going too far? [ Dollfie robot? ]

Dec 7, 2009

    1. I think that is such a fun idea! It makes the dolls all the more impressive and fun. As someone else mentioned, it shows just how far you can go with this hobby. I have had a big thing for cyborgs and such for awhile and so it does sort of make me think of that which is nice.

To me, it just shows how much talent and creativity can go into this strange hobby so many outside this community will never understand.

    2. I. Want. One.

But think of the cost T_T

    3. I think it's super cute >w< I don't think it's going too far at all, really. People like making a lot of things robotic, and BJDs aren't an exception. I've seen a few dolls like this before, but she's certainly the cutest. I love how her movements, though jerky, are actually realistic.

    4. I need a tutorial on how to do this.:o You could probably make it totally reversable. Just wire the doll and add the leg mechanism when you want a little robot and remove them when you want you doll back. I have a friend whose really ino robotics. Maybe he'll be able to do something similar. :fangirl::fangirl:

    5. It seems pretty cool :D it could move smoother.

    6. I think that's really cool. Her legs and feet are oddly huge for some reason, though... Maybe to keep her from falling over while she moves?

    7. I like it a lot!! It would scare me a bit to have a moving dollfie in the house, but I enjoy seeing the innovation and the potential.

    8. I love this idea! But like other people have said, her legs need to be more natural looking.

    9. I think it's cool but if it became popular, I don't think it would be classified with the rest of BJDs since it's a robot. I think all that junk inside her would probably mess up her joints eventually too. The thing I didn't like the most was that when she was trying to stand straight up and not move, she was shaking all over the place. I think it's an innovative idea but i'm a little wary :\

    10. Ew, I don't like it... It's creepy!
I would hate making my dolls into moving little robots!

    11. As someone who LOVES robots (some would say it was an obsession or even fetish >_<), I'm going to say that a robot like that would no longer be a ball-jointed doll, but a ball-jointed robot, the difference being that the doll wouldn't move on it's own.

NOW... I gotta say, OH MY GOD, she's so cute :) I want one.

    12. i HEARD that its actually a fem-bot. with dollfie dream head and hands.
look at how square the legs are

    13. Ohh, it's so adorable!! I would love to have something like that!! :D
I don't think it's "going too far", I mean, what exactly does "too far" entail anyways? It's all a matter of opinion I suppose. I think that robo-doll is so cool though.

    14. That'd be pretty cool. I probably wouldn't get one myself, but still! It looks great.

    15. Wow, she is totally awesome! I don't think it goes too far because too far implies going beyond whats right and personally I see nothing wrong with it. I don't really see how this is a debate though.

    16. Its amusing but I see it and start thinking about those rocking flowers with the guitar that dance when music or noise. Its definately unique but not my thing. Looking at the video I notice It would loose the ease to dress and you can't change her shoes or mover her around a lot, but still shes one heck of a little robot.

    17. Hmm too far, as in too far for me? It's amazing! Wow! That's great? BUT for me? No thanks. I like my dollies not being able to move. That's kind of ... the point of them for me. To pose them and such knowing that they can't be animated. And think of how heavy(er) the robotic ones are/would be! @_@

    18. That is awesome i didn't even think of that until you said! I love chobits!

    19. This is very nice. I really want my doll can walk and dance. :)

    20. Geez... that's creepy. D: If the movement were smoother or something, it would be pretty cool, but when it's like this... DD: Just imagine horror music to the background and. Oh. I think I can't sleep at night now. :'D I don't mind if someone had doll like that, but really, don't bother to come near to me with it, please?
...just too crepy. And when I think that my dolls were able to move... DDDD8<
      No thanks, I'll say.
