Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. This going too far? [ Dollfie robot? ]

Dec 7, 2009

    1. I think it's rather cool. It would be fun if they became a bit more like the small-sized Chobits (Lame, I know) but then without getting to close too Real Dolls...

Just the moving has to become smoother as Tekkon said. If you put a sound thingy in it with those movements, it's probably perfect to creep out my sister...

    2. It's cute but I think bjd is bjd..and robot is robot . So to me it's not bjd anymore ^^

    3. that would be kewl! it would make photostories alot easier! :)

    4. I don't think it's going "too far", but I don't really want a dancing doll, I like my dolls just being there.

    5. Oh, that's really cool! Thanks for posting it ^.^!

I have to disagree with you though, it's not going too far at all. The person bought the doll and they are customizing it-which is encouraged in the doll world... They have just as much right to do that as people do to shoot photostories or mod their dolls, etc.

    6. Oh my goodness! That is amazing. O.O

I've very impressed with the whole thing. Congratulations to the person who made it. The movements are very good. And it's adorable too. ^_^

    7. I think once all tho movement bugs are worked out and she weren't all twitchy when she was just standing there then wouldn't be so bad, as it is she looks a little posessed lol.

Also if she were looking up it might have made it not so creepy.

    8. oh wow, that video is pretty impressive. O__O

personally, i wouldn't want my dolls to be able to move because that's part of what makes a doll a doll but that is some seriously awesome tech-work on the little dollie. i'm amazed that she's so well balanced that she can keep standing up through all of the movements, that is pretty cool. :)

    9. Okay I admit my first reaction was OMG that is creepy! :sweat

But then I was just thinking how much I want one! :D it would be soooooooooooooo freakin cool! Think how much I could freak out the normals with one of theses:mwahaha

    10. That's so cool! Her motions are cute, she moves like the animation in most anime. :3
Now, if she started moving like THIS robot, that could by a little spooky: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1czBcnX1Ww

PS personally I like her chunky legs. X3

    11. Nk-chan, that thing is very scary :'[

So, it seems the owner of Dancing Dollfie has made a Youtube Channel for vids of her. Great videos, it seems like her owner can program many different motion routines of dances, walks, w/ever. She can do a lot of things (there's more vids on the site linked on his profile.) Maybe those videos will convince everyone who kept insisting in that she was just a mod of some preexisting robot, like Femisapien and other toys -- she's built from scratch and far more programmable than conventional toy robots. Really impressive!

    12. Some great vids and that doll is sooooo freakin cool! That is until it does that stupid dance from Melancoly of... :| and I'm sure it's only a matter of time. Oh look it already has *_*

    13. It kinda looks like it's just the head and hands set on a robot body to me. Not that I don't think this isn't cool. This is ridiculously cool. Of course I think Big Dog is cool too. I really like robots. But it seems more like a robot with a doll head not a robotized doll to me.

    14. is there REALLY such a thing as 'going too far', in a hobby that TECHNICALLY should only be limited by your imagination? I mean it was, until people came along and started trying to put limits on everything within the hobby.. lol Its one of the things in the hobby that prevents me from taking part often. I do what i want, when i want, with my dolls, for ME. and i just enjoy it with the few friends i have that collect

    15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chf6eirs1ps

It is a femisapien, actually (heavaly modded!!). That is how she dances.

I have never said, it is 'wrong' I have said.. that by looking at it, it got out of BJD boundries..
Its more a robot, with a doll face. still very well done though!!

    16. omg O.O that was so cute!! but so freaky tooo... I think I'd have nightmares about my dolls coming to get me if they actually moved!

I dont think i would really consider it a BJD doll anymore, but it is cool nonetheless :)

    17. Really cool that you can control it wirelessly. The walk is a little thriller/zombie/creepy, but I can see it being really awesome when they work out the movements!!

    18. I love her! I really want one now lol

    19. i think this is really cool! the movement is so realistic too!

    20. Oh dear god when I read your comment the BEST idea popped into my head, now I just need to resurect Vincent Price ;) and borrow the doll
