This going too far? [ Dollfie robot? ]

Dec 7, 2009

    1. yeah I don't like it when that happens >.>;

though I think it'd be AWESOME if these dolls would evolve into something like the dolls in chobits >w</ doll + laptop computer = total AWESOMENESS!:sumomo:

    2. I don't think the doll is creepy or that it's going too far... maybe it's not going far enough because it would get on my nerves after about 3 minutes (do something else!)... it just reminds me of those annoying Billy Bass singing fish (uuurrggh!)...

If people wantt o do this kind of thing and give them a greater range of movements, I wouldn't personally want one, but they would be cool to see ;)

    3. Funny, one of the reasons I think I got into doll collecting was because of Angelic Layer! I wish my dolls could move. Every time someone called them creepy I'd send my doll army at them.

    4. You should have looked to the side there was this there ^w^/ apparently the doll not only strums the guitar and walks, but she also dances too >w</

    5. Wow, that's really neat! I wish I knew how to do this. I don't think it's wrong at all - it's actually really cool! But I can see where some people get freaked out by the whole "moving doll" thing.

    6. I think Angelic Layer had a good deal to do with why I'm interested in BJD now too, and why I got my first mini-dollfie :3. If they could move I wouldn't want to make mine fight, I'd just make them dance all the time. BJDs are a lot like the show though, especially with the customization and how unique they are.

Anamatronics creep me out just a little, but I don't think it is wrong. I'd rather have a regular BJD just because I can pose her. I don't think I'd really consider the one in the video a bjd because, while it uses the doll mold, it's probably heavily modified into something something else that doesn't use ball joints. It uses the bjd as more of a skin than what it is anymore (hope that made sense XD)

    7. creepy. i dont know if it going to far, i couldnt watch the whole thing its rather creepy.

    8. I like it. These dolls are supposed to be customizeable (<spelling?) and in my opinion that's just another way of doing that.

    9. I wouldn't have any problems owning a doll that can actually move so I don't think is creepy at all but I still would want the ones that I can pose myself. It's quite fascinating how people can keep evolving things like this, though. I wonder what will be next? Like they said, the sky is the limit. xD

    10. I liked it, the doll is pretty cute and the moves she does combine with the doll look, but I can't think about a serious personality one doing the same. For me the BJD doll need to be static, if it has eletronical movement, it's another kind of doll, I liked it, yes, but I guess it's not the same thing, diferent ones but both pretty beautiful.

And after all, I don't think a "robot doll" will be able to pose as much as a "common" one, the internal system on the doll should be complex and sensitive, maybe it turn the doll even more fragile.

    11. That doll is the result of someone's loving care, dedication, and patience.

If it's wrong to work hard on a doll to create one perfect for you and truly unique and loved, what's the point anymore?

    12. it's strange, but I want to make a computer in the shape of a bjd, and get down chobits style. XD
that's the first thing I though, OMG CHOBITS COMPUTER

    13. I mean, all the more power to japan (or where ever it is) for never failing to shock us with their robots.

I personally wouldn't get one but I think it's pretty cool.

    14. That's nice. In the end, this is hobby. You byu doll and then you can throw it from cliff if that's what you want.
I personally wouldnt like my dolls to move at their own, but then again world has many thing i dotn like and someone else likes.

    15. The first thing that popped into my mind was Angelic Layer. It would be awesome to have dolls that move like they do in AL. I guess the robot is more of a hybrid since the bottom part is obviously square and the original legs are gone. However the upper part of the body for the most part is still from a BJD make. Yeah a moving doll would be creepy to a degree but at the same time kinda cool.

    16. Whoah, that's kind of cool. *_* For a novelty like that ("oh, she plays the guitar!") it's a cute idea, but personally I don't think I'd want my dolls to be able to move on their own. It might creep me out a little. xD

    17. I saw this video a while ago and I thought it was cool. I kinda want to watch the video to music.

    18. Like everyone else, I think it's pretty neat too, but personally, I probably wouldn't buy one. I never think dolls are creepy, but this kinda creeped me out O.o

    19. OOo personally I feel its kinda cool~ maybe one day we have life size bjd doing the same? kind of like Night in Absolute Boyfriend by Watase Yuu (tho it would be better if we can set them to move rather than they just -like- move on their own without warning). XD

But such a doll would prolly be waaaay too expensive!

    20. That's really cool!!! I'd love to see that in real life :3
