1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

This going too far? [ Dollfie robot? ]

Dec 7, 2009

    1. I've never seen a robotic BJD. :D It's actually kinda cool. To each's own, I say. If you have the skills to wire it up, more power to you.

    2. Wow I wish my doll could do that lol
I don't see any problem with dollies being modified to move around :3

    3. Whoa....that's cool...I wouldn't do it to Cyrano, but I would buy a moving doll...

    4. The way I see it, the fact that the Dollfie can move machanically does not impede its ball-jointed doll-dom. It's certainly a unique creation, but a ball-jointed doll, nontheless. An interesting idea for a ball-jointed doll, though. I problably wouldn't want to own one, but it is an interesting and cute creation nontheless. '3'

    5. That...maybe be the CUTEST thing I've ever seen!

    6. I think thats awesome!! BJDs are already so life like, i think the next logical step would be to give them movement, little robotic dollfies is probably the greatest concept i have ever heard!!

    7. That is not a dollfie.
      It's a robot with a resin head.
I don't see it as a doll, it's a robot for me, but a lovely robot and I love it ^w^

    8. I personally don't think it is going to far but i can see why someone would. Once an object begins to gain control of it's own movement then the next step is independent movement, which reacts to the world around it, after that a logical brain and logic always leads to intelligence. The question of artificial intelligence is always hotly debated and many people see it as a problem.

However whilst the doll still has a limited set of moves, all the doll is is a simple robot, no different from the little dogs that bark and then flip over, if more beautiful. I think although I would love to own one, it wont weigh heavily on my mind that I don't.

    9. That's amazing!....I wish my dolls could move, Lol.

    10. This is soooo cool!! OMG! Love it. I don't necessarily need my own dolls to rock out...literally...but this is still an awesome thing to pull off!!

    11. It's a pretty neat idea but I find it creepy too! I watched some of the other videos of her and she can do Para-Para dancing. 0.o

    12. I think it's awesome. I want it.

    13. I think it's really cute! And awesome!
Why shouldn't people use doll parts to make their robots look cute? ^^

    14. I showed a friend of mine who isn't that keen on BJDs the video and he was absolutly terrified >D Makes me want one like this sooooo bad

    15. The doll in question can do a lot more than play her little guitar. ^_^ If you visit her channel after watching this video, you can see her do Llevan Polka besides the dance she's doing in this video. (TLDR so I don't know if anybody's brought that up yet)

You can tell that the feet have been modified to make her more stable, but I think the body is intact.

    16. I've seen that before! I think it'd be interesting to have a moving doll.
But in my opinion, it's just another way these dolls are amazng. Aside from being beautiful and fun to play with, they're a great creative outlet! Fashion geeks can use BJDs to test their designs, people who draw can use their dolls as reference for anatomy/poses, people who are into film can use them for stop motion, writers can use them to personify their characters, so robotics enthusiasts can use their dolls to make cool moving dollies~

    17. Actually, the only doll part she have left is the head, hands and neck. That's why I actually think it should be called a modified robot rather than a modified doll.
You can see that rather clear on the first picture here.
And there's also an official site for the robot-doll, though it's in japanese.

    18. Thats awesome! I actually would love it if I had the talent to do that to one of my dolls. Very well done, and super cute doll aswell! :)

    19. Well, it's there own take on the doll, and the fact that they got it to even DO that is pretty amazing! So all credit to them I think. It personally doesn't bother me at all.

    20. That is too cool I would love to have a remote control doll...like someone stated previously if they have remote control/robotic pets, why not dolls. I am totally going to find a way to do this to a doll, how cool would it be to have your doll following along right next to you.
