1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

This going too far? [ Dollfie robot? ]

Dec 7, 2009

    1. that is so cool!! I need to figure out how the owner of that doll did that....

    2. I thought it was really neat, but I felt like it would really limit the character of the doll if it can only play a guitar. Now, if it had a wide variety of movement poses that it could do, I would love it.

    3. If you follow the other links that has been provided in this thread or just look it up yourself on youtube you will see that the doll is not limited to those moves only. She can also dance. And it's cute too. :)

    4. Masks are normal to wear in public in Japan. People don't want to get sick or spread sickness.
If you go to a Convention in Japan, masks will be everywhere. You might as well get one to fit in. XD

As for the doll: It is actually kind of awesome that the doll is playing guitar, but she probably isn't able to regularly move. :(
That's what I couldn't stand. I bought my doll because she was adorable, she stole my heart, and she can pose any way I want her to. If I didn't want her to pose, I would have gone to go find another kind of doll. [Although I love BJDs and this is an addictive hobby. XD]

    5. I would love to see the dollfie K-ON! cast wired to play their instruments like that. It would probably cost a fortune to get them all, though.

    6. That is super awesome, I would looove to learn how to do that with one of my dolls...and I would too! :D

    7. Apparently she can be programmed to dance too:
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRmVGJ1bYnM

This is really appealing to my inner geek * u*
If there were some way to wire this into a regular BJD, I'd go for it.

    8. From what I can tell, she's not programmed to do these things; she's controlled by a gaming remote. Really cool. If I had any technical skill, I'd love to rig a doll to do that. Definitely not going too far.

It's almost like Angelic Layer~ It appeals to the inner CLAMP nerd in me. Haha.

    9. Really? By a gaming remote? Where did you read that from? O:

      Edit.
Ahh, never mind. I watched the original video again and saw the remote control at the end - wasn't paying attention the first time XD
I still think there ought to be some programming involved in there though? Hmm...

    10. Thats just amazing. If I could wire up my dolls to do that the amount of Movies/Music Videos/etc. that I'd make would be insane. I mean stop motion is cool and all but nothing really beats live action...Especially with DOLLS!

      *walks away shaking head*

    11. I want half a dozen of them. I will have my own little army of dancing dollies!

    12. I think the remote may just be to trigger different walk/dance sequences which he programmed in advance, since after she was finished dancing he made her do a walk just by, as far as I can see, pressing one thing. The sheer number of different movements she can do as demonstrated in her vids and the consistent pace in the dance videos on the maker's channel make me doubt that it's just "press this button to move arm to left, this other button to move arm to right" and such. Maybe his blog has more info.

    13. I think it's actually kind of cool!
But what I do wonder is if the doll can still pose as well as she could before all the electronic parts were attatched to her.
And if these parts need a heavy battery. Because...Well BJD themselves already are quite heavy, as resin is just quite heavy.
I think adding all those mechanical parts and a battery would make it too much. Especially on a bigger doll...

    14. This is going way too far! What will they think of next! I am so offended! How dare these people use a blank doll to create an amazing feat of robotics! That poor doll to be subjected to the horror of movement....

    15. o.o
i didnt like it, its not that its creepy, i just think that BJDS arent made to move, and dance, but thats just me. :/

    16. That's pretty amazing, but I wouldn't really want one. It's pretty awesome to think about how they programmed it, but still...
I prefer my dolls to remain just dolls and not robots...*_*

    17. I like it so-so~ 8D But I don't think I can ever see a BJD move, I always see them as lifelike non-moveable objects. It was a cute thing to see, though. :)

    18. I actually find it amazing. I saw it a bit ago, and have ever since been thinking about trying it (I have a friend who's very good with electronics, I figured I'd ask what he could do.)

It may add extra life to a doll, but that's just me.

    19. I thought it was really awesome and not going too far! Heck ,if you are into robots AND bjd's, why not?
