1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

This going too far? [ Dollfie robot? ]

Dec 7, 2009

    1. I think it's friggin brilliant! You could see all the ways she could move, it's highly impressive that he programmed the arms not just to be placed in the right way to hold the guitar and play it somewhat believably, but he gave it what seemed to be full motion; It could put it's arms down and even walk, completely supporting it's own weight! From an electronic standpoint, a BJD is a blank canvas for robot experimentation, it already holds its' own weight and we can see clearly it can support itself correctly and actually walk, if somewhat jerkily. This guy is probably not a real professional, imagine what a team of engineers could do with a BJD! The possibilities are endless! Fascinating, thank you for sharing this~! <33

    2. You should have watched the rest; She walked as well. ^^ But I'm sure you can manually pose her as well, it's just incredibly impressive that she can also be controlled by a remote! <3

    3. OMG That is so clever! You're right so much smoother! She is sooooo cute.

    4. I have to add this conversation I had with my husband about this!
Me: Look at this dancing SD! She is a robot!
DH: Really! WOW that is so cool. How is she made? I wonder if the body was full SD or if they just put hands and head on something more robotic?
Me: Shes a doll with robotics in her shallow core. Not like a doll head on a terminator body
DH: Though what if the terminator had a japanese schoolgirl head?
Me: HAHAHA i was just thinking that. what if skynet was just a bunch of cute really big SDs? And they all came and invaded? It would be a cute-apocalypse!

    5. Dance, dollies DANCE! Now I want to see her hula! I wonder if she can turn around. Hmm...

But I think it's great. My iTurtle can dance, so why not a BJD? It's a step up from dancing Santa and dancing Flowers. Not quite the same level as the Animatronics at Disneyland... but getting there. (have you seen their Muppet Vision 3D? The live action muppets look like they are performed by puppeteers... but they are audio animatronics!)

    6. I honestly think that it was really super cute! <3 Its like the evolution of a BJD.
Imagine.. maybe in a couple of years we'll have life-sized and human intellectual BJDs running around. @_@; (Like in the anime/manga Chobits!)

    7. I wouldn't want a doll like that myself but I actually think it's really cool.

    8. I really love this vids, and the doll is so cute <3 it's typicial asians xD

    9. Love the vid!!!!

    10. I will join those who are not supporting moving dolls idea. They really look VERY unrealistic. When BJDS are left posing, they do a lot look like real people. But if you make them moving, when they move like robots... and they will NEVER move realistic enough, so, by making them move, you make them much more robot-like and they lose they realistic features then

    11. Whoa! That's really cool! The idea of robotic/animated dolls isn't new, surprisingly - in the antique doll world, automatons were created in France especially in the mid-late 1800's, which featured bisque headed dolls playing violins or harpsichords, opening bird cages, etc. This doll reminds me of one of those...I love it!

    12. thats great! but seem only the head and hands are original. the rest of them are robots.
i whsh i could have a look if the inside. very impressive.

    13. It's a great thing! I saw it and thought it was cute.

    14. I feel alone with this opinion but i feel like its no longer a dollfie or bjd one it starts robotically moving... then it feels like a robot which is awesome in its own line but it just wont feel like an actual dollfie/bjd anymore...

    15. BRILLIANT!!! :fangirl:

    16. WOW! thats awesome. I really like that and I don't think its going to far at all!! When you have something cool and you like it why not make it better! Unless your a weirdo and make it say stuff like, "I love you master." that would be strange.

    17. Yeah that would be creepy.

    18. I dont know lol, I dont think its going too far. Its kinda cool!
