1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

This going too far? [ Dollfie robot? ]

Dec 7, 2009

    1. I wish I knew where to buy one. I would get one in a minute!

    2. She was made by someone who wanted to merge their 2 favorite hobbies together. I don't see how it can harm anyone, or why anyone should be offended by it.
My personally opinion on it is that I wouldn't do it to one of mine, but it's none of my business what other people do to theirs. To each their own, eh?

    3. I think it's amazing!, Creative and I want one!

    4. Its very well done , being the daughter of an electrician and amature robotist I understand how hard she was to make. I am thinking I may have to call my dad and see if he has any extra parts.*grin*

    5. i think personally it is a very cool idea, but i would not want one dancing around in my room. the plus side to this is that we now know that they have invented this. And if you can make it dance imagin all the cool poses you could get your doll to do without even touching it. it would make photo shoots much easier. the problem would be water though... like if you were to take her/him out and it started raining out of nowhere... although the likeness of that happening it about 1 out of 10 it could still happen...

    6. Well, personally, i love the idea. I once read this manga about a person who bought a doll that came to life, and I've always been kinda jelous that that camt happen in reality..... If i had the money or resources, i would definitely give one or two of my dolls an AI and make it so it was able to move.... Ive never been able to bondmwith real people that well and have fallen in love with these dolls, so it would be a dream come true for me.

    7. As my friend said after watching this video,

"Japan will one day take over the world using adorable little dollfies" xD

    8. Aww, I think it's cute as hell. hmm... what an odd saying, 'cute as hell'. :huh?:

    9. i wouldn't call it going too far. If someone wants a robotic BJD then so be it. More power to them. I personally think it's sort of creepy but thats just me. Nothing is really going to far in a hobby all about customization and making something the best it can be for you and what you want out of it.

    10. Eh..its kind of cool i guess. But i like my dolls to be dolls, not robots ^^;
I like being able to move them myself and pose them. They just wouldnt have the same appeal to me if they were robotic.

    11. I find this absolutely awesome.

Props to the guy for electrical engineering know hows.

    12. Ahahahha. I would love to have one of these! This video alone is what really got me into dollfies to be honest :). I want to plan on saving up so I can actually afford one in the future just in case if they sell em ^_^!

    13. After seeing this and an example of a robot dancer/singer using vocaloid, I'm pretty sure we could have a genuine Hatsune Miku performance from one of the results of turning a BJD into a robot.

    14. Woot! That would be freaking awesome! :D

    15. I don't think it's going to far, I think it would be really fun to have a robotic doll! It's unique! People add mods to their dolls all the time, it makes the doll their own, so why not have a robot dolly!

    16. I really find it awesome! The movements are natural and have you seen the other video of that doll dancing?? Too cute!!

    17. I wouldn't do it to my own doll, but I think it's actually pretty cool. It's just a non-traditional mod, that's all.

    18. Its cute allright.
But as my personal opinion, it is not doll; it's robot.
Dolls do not move around. They don't have motors inside them.
As soon as you stick motor inside something to move it, it becomes machine; robots are machines, not dolls.
Do you remember those electronic dog robots few years ago? Or those owl-looking things, Ferbies or something like that?
They were toys, for sure. Ferbies had soft fur.
But people didin't call them stuffed toys; they were "machines" or "robots".
This is no different. Its a robot that looks like doll.
Still, it's a creative idea, and very well done.
