1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Thoughts on a guy doll having breasts?

Dec 12, 2010

    1. When I read the title, I thought the thread was going to be about man-boobs from a male doll being over-weight. xD;

I have nothing against people gender-bending their dolls however they choose. After all, a doll is a character of your creation, and you can make that character whatever you please.

    2. Personaly I think it's weird to have a male doll with an unmodded female body. I know that not everyone has the ability to mod there doll's but as far that I can tell for myself I would buy a male doll with a male body and female with female body.
Most of the time I don't know the doll's or owners when I see the pictures, but saying "cute girl" because she has boobs but it's actualy a boy makes me feel pretty foolish.

I don't mind sculpt gender changes, I have some male sculpt's being female dolls. But they all get a matching girl or boy body.

    3. There are girl bodies with small breasts (like Dollstown Sd13) and there it's hardly noticable, but some other bodies can't deny that they're girl bodies. I don't mind seeing one but I can't help to assume that they're still being modified later.

    4. Nah I don't have a problem with it for several reasons. Okay, more like two reasons!

      1) It's their doll and they can do whatever they like with it, it's not my place to have an opinion on it!
      2) There are men out there with breasts. Whether it's because they're trans* or if because they have a condition or whatever, it's just a reality and it's kind of cool if people have characters like that I think *u*

    5. well,I think the sexuality of the doll is decided by their owner, every owner heve their own doll, these doll is different with the doll which you see in the seller's website~They look similar but they are unique~

    6. From what I've seen, heads don't necessarily have to look very gender specific at all. I would totally put a Soom Heliot head on a body that was intended to be a female. Yes, I could then identify the doll as female, but also male if I wanted (unless the breasts are disturbingly big ;)).
Though who says the doll has to have a gender at all? It's not even a biological creature. It's all a matter of identity pushed by the owner.

    7. I don't have an issue with gender-swapping the doll itself, BUT it does piss me off when this happens:

      - See a gallery thread of a pretty doll, physically female, wearing a dress.
      - Comment with "What a pretty lady!" or "She's so cute!"
      - Owner replies with "OMG!!! HE'S A BOOOYYY!!! WHY U SO MEEEAAAN?! TT^TT"

Well. You've got a girly doll in a dress and a girly wig with a girly face-up and tits. You can't honestly expect random strangers to think "oh yeah; that's totally a dude." Chill.

    8. Doll-Mage, I think people get irritated about that because they take the time to type out a little description that blatantly states the doll's gender and people ignore it. That has been the case 100% of the time when I've seen people say, 'Um.. Thanks, but he's a guy!'

    9. Double-post, sorry! Site was jacking up for a minute there for me. Urg.

    10. This is exactly the reason it used to irritate me but tbh, I've reached the stage where I simply don't care anymore. If people can't be bothered to read the artist comment, oh well. I just say thank you, don't even bother correcting them and move on.

People will forever see what they want to see anyway! Infamously, there's a shot of one of my boys wearing nothing but underwear, so pretty much barechested (look! no boobs) and basically nude and a comment under it, with not a HINT of irony, said "I like her dress." Nuff sed.

    11. I also gave up on caring about people getting the gender of my dolls right when my older sister, also completely without irony, looked at my completely naked Unoa boy using the erect penis part standing on the kitchen table without a wig on and went "Oh wow, she's so pretty!" If THAT can't get someone not in the hobby to call him a he, nothing will.

I agree with you, Lulu. It's really easier to just not respond to people who can't be bothered to read your comments on your photography or dolls than to get offended at them. It's never going to get through to them and honestly, most fly by responders don't actually care about a doll's intricate backstory and any complex world building associated with it.

    12. please delete this post.

    13. That's a contradiction. You dislike men who "talk/act in a funny way" by wearing women's clothes, but at the same time you respect everyone's tastes? I don't know if this is your intention, but you're coming across as a homo/transphobe.

    14. please delete this post.

    15. The word you're looking for is "transphobic", and it's really not something to lightly admit to and hope that everyone is going to be fine with. It's kind of like saying "Maybe I'm a little 'racist"... :sweat" and not expecting to get looked at askance.

    16. Exactly. I'm transgender myself and I found that comment to be extremely offensive.

    17. I'm sorry =( I didn't mean to offend anyone, I was just being sincere with my opinion. I'm going to delete my post.

    18. Maybe just keep it in mind that being sincere does not prevent an opinion from being offensive to others. It could have helped to read more of the thread and gauge the prevailing attitude before posting. It saves you from later embarrassment. :)

    19. I'll just keep in mind to not say or write how I truly feel over certain matters next time and just go with the flow by saying: "to each his/her own".

    20. Not at all, it is the owner's reason, choice and opinion and therefor not my place to judge and or comment.
