Thoughts on a guy doll having breasts?

Dec 12, 2010

    1. Well as first when you buy a doll hows official a female but you want it as a doll and don't have money for a boy body yet use the girl body and mod the boobs off as long they don't got money for a boy body . I dont mind of the mould / Sculpt official is a woman or guy vice versa its about what you like the doll to be a woman or a guy .

    2. On the opposite one day i will probably will create one of this monster with a resinsoul green boy for creating a female Orc warrior XD

    3. In this day and age, I would hardly think that it mattered. I love some of the boy sculpts like crazy and wouldn't hesitate for a second to put them on a girl body or vice-versa. I actually think that most dolls are rather androgynous and could be dressed either way. When I first started the hobby, I had difficulty even distinguishing the males from the females and it just doesn't matter all that much to me. To each his/her or he/she own :)

    4. This kind of thing definitely does not bother meโ€“a doll is whatever his/her owner makes of him/her. It might look a little strangeโ€“usually, I find that even feminine male heads still look rather masculine on female bodiesโ€“but really, it's up to the doll's owner to decide.

    5. I don't think I'd put my own dolls together that way unless it was for a specific character, but to each his or her.. or.. his?.. or her? :D own. Dolls can be used for art and/or "play", both of which are forms of expression and ways to understand the world. Gender, body, sexuality are confusing issues for a lot of people and I think it could be perfectly natural to explore those ideas through dolls.

    6. First off, it's a preference thing. If you want it, fine, do it. If you don't, you don't have to but that doesn't mean it's 'wrong' or 'weird'.

I hate labels. Having to discuss gender and gender identity is just too confusing, too uncomfortable because a lot of people don't understand or don't wish to listen.
Over time, I've realized where people are concerned, I can't automatically assume they identify as male, female, etc. Besides, I tend to like a person for their personality first and foremost. If they end up being a masculine person with breasts and a vagina is not my concern D:

And the same holds true for dolls. I think if it looked nice, I'd buy one. It all depends on the way they look and how the shaping of the er, 'parts' are. :p

    7. Hmm, I don't think it'll bother me. I'll just wonder why the owner wanted it that way, but then it's their doll, and they can do however. I knew someone who had their doll which is meant to be a guy doll, but due to a lack of body, they had to have him on a female body instead. But since the bust was a small bust, it was unnoticeable after him wearing clothes.

    8. It doesn't bother me. I dressed my 1/6 in a dress....He's a cross dresser half the time and 100% gay. (Right now dressed in his yukata. If no one knew better they'd think he was a she.)

Besides some people get the 1/3 Obitsu body with the boobs and then change it to a guy with the male chest plate. (I mean look at Kiki-chan's Omi!)

    9. nope. i think of the life and the fact that there are hermaphrodites, transgender persons, cross dressing ect.. i think it can be used in educational ways as well as personal choice. it is geat customes have a choice and the freedom to express themselves as they need to.

    10. Personally, I'm not a fan simply because most of the people that have male dolls who either crossdress or are transgendered are sometimes offended if someone mistakes their male doll for a female. But if that's what someone wants to do with their doll, it's fine by me.

    11. I may have responded to this before, but... I think if your guy doll has breasts, you shouldn't get upset when I assume it's female. As long as you don't get in my grill about it, I don't care. It's your doll, do whatever you want, just don't expect me to be psychic.

    12. It seems weird and creepy to me but people can do what they want.

    13. I think it might look a little odd, to have a doll that identified as a male and was portrayed as a male but yet have a female body. I would just wonder why the person who owned that doll decided to give them a different body. If the doll's character was transgender, though, I would understand and wouldn't find it odd anymore.

    14. There are real, actual alive men with breasts and vaginas too! I don't know if this has been brought up yet.

      I don't question a doll's gender identity just like I don't question a person's.

/is a bit adamant about gender rights

    15. It doesn't bother me, but I don't personally understand the premise behind it. For myself, if I want a doll to have breasts, I'll just get a girl doll and keep it as a girl. But there again, people are free to do what they want, and it doesn't bother me.

    16. Much like kaschan above me. To each their own.

    17. I came on here worrying I'd be the only person saying that, but then you said it exactly the same way I had intended to. Here here!

    18. If it makes sense, it doesn't bother me at all. I think when someone takes a male head sculpt and sticks it on a female body, it's actually a bit of a stroke of genius. I've seen some done the other way around with a female head on a male body (the doll/character itself was male) and it was positively gorgeous!! It opens my eyes to more possibilities and helps me think out of the box.

I'll admit I'm slightly confused by the question though. I mean, if they still wanted the doll to be male but got it a female body... if it was undergoing some kind of sex change or hormone therapy it would make sense. But if they just put it on a female body and still claimed it was male... that wouldn't make sense at all.

      So really, the concept itself is totally okay with me and I even think it's quite inspired and the mark of someone with confidence and true creative freedom. Providing it makes sense ^^;

    19. I actually don't mind it at all. I believe Gender shouldn't be seen as a limit, I think. Men can be women, dress like women, behave like women and have boobs like women.
and like unorthodoxcreativity has stated, there are men out there with female genitals.

    20. no. for one thing, dolls aren't humans, they don't have chromosomes or anything that biologically determines gender. a doll is just an inanimate object that we project personal meaning upon. a doll can depict gender characteristics but if you want to say your doll is the opposite gender to how they appear, or give them characteristics from both genders, there is nothing stopping you.

transgender people and people who don't identify with just 1 gender do exist in real life so there's no reason your doll can't represent that either. heck, because this has potential for a fantasy scenario, you could make up a story along the lines of "my doll was a girl, but she wanted to become a boy, so she became a witch and used magic to transform her body"... if only if it were that simple in real life, right?
