Thoughts on a guy doll having breasts?

Dec 12, 2010

    1. On your initial question: Yes, I would be somewhat bothered if a straight guy were to have breasts. Manboobs maybe, but breasts? >_> Did he loose a bet?

But on a doll, it won't bother me as much. You did say that the owner bought the body because of height and musculature issues. The problem only occurs when the body has big boobs and the owner didn't cut them off. It would be much easier for girl dolls to be on boy bodies since there are girls who have small breasts. It would be a bit confusing if the getup is too guyish but quite doable.

    2. For my first doll, I bought a flat-chested girl doll for a boy character because it didn't occur to me that I could ask her head to be put on a male body--but ultimately, the character's supposed to be softer than most boy sculpts anyway, so it worked out. People assume Receba's a girl, and since the doll doesn't quite look like the character, they've eventually just turned into two separate things. Receba the girl is an elf, Receba the boy is an alien space hooker.

That said, since this is a highly customizable hobby, I would probably "what" a little bit at a boy-character doll with a curvy female body if it had nothing to do with his backstory.

    3. Honestly? When shown a male doll with an obviously female body, I'd probably just assume that the owner eventually planned to do a boob-removal body-mod on the doll and hadn't gotten around to yet. That was a pretty common thing a few years ago, so seeing what seemed to be that kind of doll in it's "pre-mod" stage wouldn't really strike me as strange.

Now, if the doll was still being called a guy a few years down the line and yet still had the...er... Vast Tracts of Land, so to speak... I might raise an eyebrow and wonder if "male" was really the designation the owner should have gone with. Still no harm done, obviously, but it would seem a little odd.

    4. Doesn't bug me. Besides a lot of molds are rather flat chested anyway. I don't know any male who doesn't have a little bit of boob any way, even if its muscle. But I guess when the breast are massive and popping out, it would be a little harder to see him as all male. But hey, it's their doll and everyone can do what they want with their own doll.

    5. If it's part of a character backstory or something, fine but if it's supposed to be biologically male yet has an unmodded girl body well to me that's just lazy and stupid. But hey if that floats your boat, go for it, just don't blab about it to me.

    6. I have to agree with what's been said earlier. I personally wouldn't do it,but if it's not my doll, I have no right to judge. If I wanted to have a boy, I'd just buy a male body and the same goes for females. However, if someone else feels that they want to mix and match and doesn't feel the need to take tons of nude pictures of their doll, I'm fine with it.

    7. As a transsexual (FTM) myself, I would feel sorry for the poor guy, not having had his breast removal yet ;) Other than that, it depends. As pointed out previously, if it's part of the character, then go for it. If it's not, and you just haven't got around to modding it yet, or if the breasts are so small that you don't really notice them anyway then, again, no problem. But if it's supposed to be a biological male, and if the breasts really stand out (so to speak), then you should probably get around to modding it pretty soon, simply because it doesn't look realistic.
But again, as has been pointed out before, when the doll is wearing clothes and the really female parts don't show, then it can simply be about having a feminine boy, or a short one, or whatever, which simply allows you greater variation :)

    8. Sure if someone wants to do it, thats their choice. But in the back of my mind the question would be...why?

Edit: Yes I doooo understand some people wants certain characters made ;)

    9. nope. whether it's unmodded or due to the characters gender, it doesnt matter. as long as i dont get my head bit off if i guess the wrong initial gender.

    10. It would definitely bother me. I know some doll owners want the skinnier body or whatever, but couldn't they mod the male body? Or at least sand down the breasts completely?
I hear a lot of people saying it's their doll they can do whatever they want to and yes, while they can, I don't think that they should always use that right. :[ I mean, I definitely don't.

    11. It's always bothered me that people make their male dolls look too feminine, but if they are going to put it on a female body, then why not just make it a female. Doesn't make sense to me. Your doll, do what you want, but I don't have to like it.

    12. I understand the question and the complain, but my creed is, people should costumise their dolls the way they want. It's their doll. It's their prerogative.

    13. Ultimately that's up to them. Personally I don't care, but I'd love to see a doll that looked like Gren from Cowboy Bebop, man parts, long hair, boobs and all :sweat

    14. Your doll, your choices. I really don't see this as a problem <3

    15. People can do what they want, but this is something that has been bothering me. Not that they use female bodies to portray males, but when I think that it is a female wholeheartedly and WHOOPS NOPE. I know that dolls tend to be feminine, but giving your male a colorful face, long hair and gender neutral/female clothes really does not help.

    16. Personally I have a character who's very obviously male and muscular, but he also has actual medium sized breasts and nothing but man parts down under. As far as putting a male head on a female body well to each their own. If I were to do it though it would just nag at me if I didn't slap on some man parts, the breasts though I wouldn't really be worried about.

    17. I just want to drop in here and note that the correct term for a human being with both male and female sexual characteristics is "intersex." Human beings are not "hermaphrodites"; snails are.

ETA: no reason it should be bothersome. There are men with breasts out there in the real world, no reason they shouldn't be in the doll world.

    18. It doesn't t bother me. It's kinda like taking a tiny that was supposed to be a boy and giving it a girl character. Even though most tinys are gender less. I actually wanted a MNF Luka on a girl body. It just doesn't matter to me. If people want a boy sculpt on a girl body.

    19. I'm amazed and somewhat disheartened by ignorance of gender and sexuality issues in this thread. Sex does not equal gender and gender does not equal sexuality. Most people seem to have the right idea, but a lot of people are waaaaay off.

    20. Nope, sorry. Check your transphobia at the door, please.
