I'm sorry, you came to the wrong board. This isn't Dollies Anonymous, it's Dolly enablement. And Puki's are so adoreable, you should get some. Now there are at least 7 different open eyed versions, and I can't see not getting at least one of each. Let us know when they start arriving
IngieBee...you are a devil for sure, but I love you....I really do want a ton of them...now convince hubby for me??? OMG...I actually went to Fairyland website...look what you made me do...thank heavens my witts came back before I hit the Buy button...whew : ( They are worse then puppies, so cute you just HAVE to have one...only with out the puppy breath.
I'm sorry, I should be more careful :P Those puki's are so potent! We are pushers but we don't want friends overdosing, LOL. An addictive disease indeed
Puki Rose has stolen my heart...Do they do Layawy? I must make a plan to find the means to buy one. First, look in sofa cushions. Second is to beg, grovel,or do what you must to get hubby to pay for doll, tell him you'll settle for a basic set. Worry about the rest a week or so later...lol
When saving for puki, I severely cut back on all things I don't need, like candy, manga and clothes. I have enough clothes. Then I figured out how much bills and food will be, and found myself with almost enough already. My mom helped a little by giving me little jobs like fixing her pants and curtains, and voila. Here I am, waiting. Tinies will have you working hard, that's for sure.
Ladycrow...I'm in the same boat....nothing in the couch or jeans pockets....sigh....more groveling to hubbie....thinks I'm too old for "dolls"...*gasp* A mere doll?!?!?! Never! but a teeny? I'd do dishes without complaint for the rest of the year....think he'll go for it?
dolldreamer: My Hubby is into trains,so I use the old"If I'm too big for dolls, then you're too big for trains" line. But the monies is different story...lol Dishes for the rest of the year is a bit drastic, maybe for 3 months....yeah 3 months should do,or I can cook for like 2 weeks...no...have to go with dishes also. Unless it's TV dinners,in which case I will go to store and buy them for 2 weeks....he he
Sorry LC, I just have to say it, it's bursting out of me, and so obvious, but.... May the Force be with you! Ok, I'm ducking the rotten tomatoes
Have you ever noticed how as soon as your thoughts start to stray toward Mini or large sized dolls another ultra cute Tiny appears to distract you. It stares at you with its big dewy eyes, whispers things in your ear such as "why would you want a larger doll when you can have several of me instead! We're small so we take up less room that way you can have MORE!!", casts its spell over you, then drags you back into the Realm of Tiny.
Oh man, is this ever true! I've been saving for a Dollmore model doll (Mellow Cole) for quite a while and finally had enough cash to buy her, and then....I went crazy, apparently, and bought a Dollzone elephant, two Banjis, a Batchix tiny, and put deposits on a dark Coco and another tiny Elfdoll. *sigh* Now I have to start all over. By the time I save more money and get my dolls paid off, Tinybear will probably have more creatures to tempt me.
And the advantage of tinies is that husbands (well my for definite) just DON'T seem to notice any new additions Weeks later, my hubby gazes at the shelf, and says 'are they reproducing' to which I feign ignorance
My fiance and I work over 300km apart, so we usually only see each other on the weekends. One of the first things he does when he comes home is open the door to the hidden doll shelf and count... So far, I've been good and always told him about planned doll purchases, though! He's even funded two of them (though I've since repaid him) and called one of those "his doll" for the longest time. He often finds me sighing over some doll in the marketplace or on Ebay, and he usually says, alarmed: "You're not thinking of buying another one, are you?" To which I say: "No no... Of course... not..." *siiiiiigh* *vage mumbling about money and responsible behavior* *siiiiiiiiiiiiiigh* And then he jokes that pretty soon, he's going to find a doll sitting in the farthest corner of the shelf, trying to be inconspicuous behind large sunglasses. Weeeelllll... I said I'd been good so far. A couple of weeks ago, I ordered a LJ from Customhouse, and debated with myself on whether or not I should add a Bisou Ai to the order. I decided to be responsible and not do it. Two weeks later, somebody on Ebay put up two Bisous for 109 Euro each, and since the seller was in Europe, I wouldn't have had to pay import and customs fees, making the Bisous cheaper for me than they would've been if I ordered them directly from the CH website. It was verrrrry tempting, and my finger hovered of the button at least half a dozen times. One time I even clicked, but didn't confirm. In the end, I regretfully let the auctions run out. When my fiance came home, he jokingly asked: "Have you bought the sunglasses yet?", and I said: "Nah. I didn't want you to get mad." He said: "Mad? Why would I have gotten mad because you bought a doll?" He shouldn't have said that. NOW Customhouse have their 30% sale, AND I still had store credit with them, and the temptation was simply too strong. Does anybody know where I can find tiny sunglasses?
These little tinies have tremendous power over frail humans. One finds a way into a heart and home.... then invites other small friends..... and the group demands clothing and housing...... and more friends. What power!
Keladry, if he is already counting your dolls, he may not be the one to marry, LOL. But then again, he did ask why would he get angry... so maybe there is hope, LOL. I got my first puki's recently and another brownie, and with my puki order, I got the DES head, which is a mini size doll... and gorgeous too, so now... I want my mini doll completed, and a Narsha which I think will look like a perfect little sister to her, hee hee hee... How can I possibly ever pay for all this? Must sell something....... but I don't have anything I want to sell! LOL
Oh, I think he's only counting them to tease me... He let me buy three dolls this year without complaint, even though I had to borrow the money for two of them from him. He even offered to buy a doll for my birthday, though I declined that (too expensive a present, I think)!
