    1. I like two-part bodies, but I have to admit that I like some three-part bodies as well. If my boys and girls can slouch with two-parters, then I'm happy enough. I finally have my first doll with a single-part body and I can tell how much I've been spoiled by my slouchy MNF!

    2. I prefer no joint torsos. I don't do a whole lot of photographing of my dolls, so I don't have a need for super posing ability. I do however carry my dolls around quite a bit at cons and the like, and they are so much easier to lug around (especially my Volks SD10 girl) when they don't have any torso joints. I've found that some dolls have a tendency to twist and turn and flip in all sorts of directions if they have a torso joint (or 2 or 3).

Torso joints wouldn't keep me from getting a doll I wanted though. That doll just wouldn't become my first choice of dolls to carry around with me.

    3. I definitely prefer a single joint... it looks much more subtile in pictures and provides a pretty natural posing ^^

    4. I never had a two jointed torso, but then i never liked the look or found very few I liked the look. Although I'm sure it offers more posability, the joint at the hip I would think can only do so much more different than simply moving other parts to make it look similar. I guess it would depend on how it's made. I the joints were made amazingly well, I can make exceptions, but I like the one joint torso cause you get both looks and some posing with it. Granted not as pleasing looking as a no joint torso, but I like a little in between and besides I've seen some nice balanced looks from the one joint when done right. But I must agree, having the joint right at the waist/hip only is awful to me ><; It would look better and more natural to me if it was more around chest level (like mid to lower chest).

    5. I've only have and interacted with one jointed torsos but I don't miss having more joints. I think it looks prettier but I really like the active line fairyland body too... but that's the only double jointed body I really like. But more than two just no. I don't want to deal with it. Even if it has the most realistic posing even I'm not going to touch it.

    6. I say 2, mainly because I find it makes my kids sit easier.

    7. Hmmm... I don't know how to vote! I prefer two-part torsos on girls and three-part torsos on boys. :sweat I don't like the "underwear joint" line on girls, but I like the slouchy poseability of three-part torsos on male dolls.

    8. I may be in the minority here, but the absolute most beautiful body I have in my collection is the Volks SD10 girl body. I completely love the look of her uninterrupted torso. I also have the Lati green with a solid torso and I think her body is pretty perfect too, and her posing doesn't seem to inhibited by being jointless. Most of my dolls have one joint, though, which seems to be enough for me overall. I'm more into their aesthetics over their posing in the end anyway. Granted, there are some beautifully sculpted dolls with several joints, but I don't require them for my tastes.

    9. The more joints there are (and the more complex the engineering), the more I tend to like the body. I actually love the look of doll joints, and I think the more realistic the body and the more joints there are, the cooler it is. I guess I find the look of heavily jointed yet super-realistic dolls to be appealingly surreal.
For example, I just love the Production Ariadne body and the new Dollshe bodies. They remind me of old marionettes, which I have always found completely fascinating. I don't mind if they look creepy. In fact, I like them creepy. I find hybridization of realism with inorganic jointing to be really cool.

    10. I've never really cared about how 'real' a doll looks so i'm all for lots of joints. In fact, i'm probably in the majority here XD, but i love the look of joints on a bjd. I chose 3 for the torso mostly because i've never held a doll with more then that so i'm not sure what more would be like.

    11. I like two part for my hypers but for volks SD girls I much prefer the NO joint! I just think its beautiful.

    12. Two parts I think. But I like the look of one part torsos....

    13. I like the one joint torsos! And I absolutely hate that Ryog's second joint always tries to eat his underpants! Oo'

    14. I don't have a big preference when it comes to number of joints, but I don't feel the need to have more than a three parter. I used to think that I would really dislike no torso joint at all, but when I got my SD girl body, I found that I loved the way it looked and I've never had any particular trouble posing her. When it comes to torso joints, I do have somewhat of a preference for the low hip joints, second would be a torso joint that was fairly high up--I'm not so found when they cut right across their waist--that can look clunky depending. But, whatever the configuration, if it was a doll I liked it wouldn't be a deal breaker or anything.

    15. I prefer one joint because I never use the waist joint, anyway >.<
Plus, the pinch risk escalates too much.

    16. 3 peice all the way. I won't even think about purchasing a doll unless it has three torso peices. My only exception to this rule is the EID because you can't get anything else like it with three peices. But I have yet to buy one in case someone releases a big body with this option. I just prefer my dolls to be as poseable as possible, whenever possible. Plus, I adore the look of joints. I like my dolls to feel like working objects, as opposed to feeling like purely aesthetic ones.

    17. Emma has one joint, my dollfies have one joint - it's good enough for me.

I'm not particularly crazy about the two-jointed dolls; the waist joints make the hips look weird, to me.

    18. I love the poseability of double-jointed bodies. It allows for so much more expression and range to capture life with. Though it really depends on the body you get. Getting a double-joined body that looks alright (sans-clothing situations) may be difficult. For example, the knees and elbow joints of some bodies may look a bit clunky and awkward when flexed, but some dollmakers have techniques for getting around the issue (kneecaps) or sculpting them so its not as drastic. I love the double jointed arms for the ability of the dolls to reach their hands up to their face or over their shoulder and be able to hold it on their own! I Love bodies that have two torso joints, preferably one just below the breastline and one at the hip (allowing for elegant curved back/ slouching/ fetal position poses). I very much dislike the single joint on some dolls that tries to take the shape of the rib age and just looks awkward when you try to pose them with their back curved (like they've been broken in half or something).

    19. I'm all for double jointed. I think it creates more realistic poses. The only downside I'm experiencing is that my boys often have the string of their underwear stuck between the middle part and the hip part ;)

    20. I much prefer just the single torso joint. My two-joint bodies have had a lack of stability. Which has been improved by sueding, so they're not dealbreakers per se, but I've seriously considered gluing my MNF's hip joint so it doesn't move at all :sweat. Slouching is nice, but I want good, solid, straight sitting and standing, and rarely need them to be able to bend to the side in a dramatic fashion (as both my MNF and SSDF were inclined to do pre-sueding).

Plus the hip/belly area is pretty sexy, so I'd prefer it not be interrupted by a joint. :sweat

I have one no-joint torso, an SD10 boy, and aesthetically it's very pleasing. Also, his waist fits nicely into my hand when I carry him. However, his character really should be able to slouch, so I will get him a jointed SD10 body someday. I may just keep the original body, though, and put another head on it, just because it's so cute.
