Transgender/intergender dolls?

Jan 7, 2014

    1. I have one boy who is FtM. He is a model and remains very androgynous looking. I got him with the male body from HZ which is pretty skinny and his face is fairly feminine. Down below he doesn't have very obvious male genitals either. He is happy the way he is and never wanted to be a very masculine looking man. He has long hair and likes wearing make up. He also loves beautiful cloths and will model both male and female clothing. I have never put chest scars from top surgery on him but may put fine ones one day. I figure as he is a model he would have had a lot of fine surgery to minimize scarring as much as possible.
      This is my Senri.

    2. Well, I didn't until yesterday. I have had this male Elfdoll Mir since 2008. I love him to pieces, he was my first BJD. I finally got around to giving him a new faceup, yesterday, after putting it off for over a year. I worked hard on it all day, it turned out extremely well. When I got it done, I realized that he just didn't look like a guy anymore. I have been looking for a doll that looked like Nefertiti for years...and I suddenly realized that that was who he looked like now. So now I have to go shopping for a female body for him. His old body had at least a couple dozen outfits, and he was always my resident fashionista.....So I forsee a LOT of sewing in my future.

    3. I have a FTM guy here though still in transition. He's a tan Supia Juah and I really like that the body isn't overly curvaceous making it easier for him to pass as a beautiful male. Going to sand down his chest some and sew him a binder until I some day sand and shape his chest nicely and will be sculpting him a penis. Until then he will wear a prosthetic in some specially made underwear.

Also have a Drag Queen who wears nothing but frilly long dresses, makeup and have quite the collection of wigs.

    4. Well, now that Threnn has arrived - this is mine. :) Threnn is agender in most of their stories. The doll is a Bella head on a male DC body that I modded myself (the male body had less secondary sexual characteristics, so it was easier to take it to neuter than a female body with its very wide hips would have been).

Obligatory note: That is not a binder that they are wearing (bandages do not make good binders!). Setting-wise, it's just like a character with a bandaged chest in an anime - Threnn does not have breasts. Functionally, it was to add break up all the skin showing in the photo.

    5. I actually have a transgender doll planned and on layaway. The sculpt I'm using is a Spiritdoll Smart Pyrus, which I thought was the perfect doll to use since it has a fairly feminine face yet has the boy body ^_^

Her name is going to be Rin and she'll identify as female (hence the female pronouns), but still be biologically male (have a doll boy body). I already have an idea of what she'll look like and everything. I've been thinking of doing a doll like this for a while and I'm really excited about it~

    6. I noticed that a lot of people here are choosing androgynous looking sculpts for their dolls. I wanted to point out a lot of us do like to think our bodies are fairly androgynous. Some people are so lucky. Mine is ridiculously non-androgynous. I have known folks who are happy that their body IS so androgynous though, as it helps them pass and feel good about their appearance. It's very interesting that we have dolls that 'go through transition'.. Remember to wear respiratory protection while sanding!

    7. I have a doll planned who's going to use "they" as a pronoun- an RS Bao that will be called Sindri.

    8. One of the elf dolls I plan to get is intersex, goes by they/them and he/his pronouns. Their name is Szayel :') He's gonna be a ResinSoul to match his partner Tavra (the elf in my icon!).

    9. I have plans for a gender-fluid doll. This thought came to me just one day because I had never thought or planned having this kind of doll personality in my doll family.
They are genetically a boy, but they switch from girl to guy spontaneously, including talking to the other self when in a gender or another, it's going to be quite funny. Their names are Nöel/Nöelle, and they are french.
I haven't yet decided on a sculpt tough, I want it to be MSD or smaller but I'm having a hard time finding an appropriate androgynous face and body, I just have to keep looking.
I'll keep you updated of my progress!

    10. I have several Trans gender, and... other? gender dolls.

The first was my Elfdoll K, Thomas who is FtM. the only "modification" I did was add a couple of lines of acrylic gesso beneath his pectoral muscles for chest surgery scars. I had another doll that I originally intended to be another FtM character Spencer, but the male doll sculpt ( a souldoll vito Edmund) was too harsh, and I didn't like the way it turned out. I'm going to be doing something different with that doll, and reshelling my Spencer as a Zaoll Luv. preferably in tan... but thats going to be expensive. I'm not sure if I'll be doing any chest modding on him, as the character has not yet had chest surgery, and I'm not sure if he intends too.

I have one questioning MtF character... that at this point might be considered gender fluid? He is a B&G sky name Travis James Chesterfield. But he goes by T.J whether he is in "boy" or "girl" mode. I don't know if she will ever end up going through full "transition" (chest mods?) or not... but I guess I'll find out as the story goes on. XD

I have another doll Soong Hi (Customhouse Choa) that does drag occasionally, and did have a period of questioning her identity, and wondering if she was FtM. but now usually identifies as female, and a lesbian.

    11. Me. I have a girl in the process. She was born female but doesn't identify as either. So normally she just wears baggy male clothes with a simple short hair style so she looks more boyish. While she feels more comfortable that way shes not sure what she is suppose to be. Bullies dont help her any either. Poor kid. Her storyline still has some holes i have to fill but that is the gist of it.

    12. I have a character who is intersex and I plan on making a doll of her someday. She has very slight hips and tiny tits so I think I can get away with hybriding some dolls, but I haven't even begun to think of the models I'd use. She needs boobs, a penis, and a very delicate little face, then I'll need to somehow get some scales on her.

    13. Elliott is a genderfluid, androgynous person, who although admits to his physical gender being male will dress in a rather ambiguous manner and will answer to both male and female as well as neutral pronouns at will. Generally, what he does is leaving it to the discretion of the people he's with to decide what they want to call him by as he never genders himself in conversation. If we were to put facts in a feminine to masculine scale, Elli would probably rank at about 70% feminine, being of a slight physique with rather wide hips and a tiny hint of breasts. He experiences no gender dysphoria of any kind whatsoever and is pretty open about his views when it comes to his own gender as well.

    14. I have a trans girl named Coyote. :aheartbea She's a Ringdoll Dylan, and I'd actually had her (and the character) for a few years when I realized that the reason I'd had trouble bonding with her was that she wasn't meant to be a boy at all. It took a little getting used to but I cherish her even more now. I have no plans to change her body or anything; since she's a fae creature anyway she doesn't really experience dysphoria the way a human might.

I also have two dolls/characters that are technically sexless - both Soom tinies. One, Aurora (Soom Bygg), identifies as feminine, presents as a girl and uses she/her pronouns, (her twin is owned by my friend and identifies as masculine) and the other, Leilani (Soom Afi), is nonbinary, mostly feminine-presenting and uses he/him pronouns. Since neither of them were gendered to start with (they're fae too, of course), I suppose that would make Aurora trans in the sense that she identifies differently than she was assigned at birth.

I have other, human, characters that are trans or genderqueer that haven't been shelled, but it happens that it's easier to put a bunch of differently-proportioned dolls together when they're fairies and otherworldly creatures.

    15. One of the boys on my wishlist is going to be a trans guy.

    16. Reika is very androgynous; dresses both male and female. Reika also goes by the names of Sebastian or Bassy when he feels male. I find myself using male pronouns when addressing Reika lately. Reika is like a dollified me.

    17. I have a lot of genderfluid/agender characters planned but don't have them in doll form yet. I also might have an FTM doll planned, not sure if that's gonna be his story or not yet.

    18. I don't personally have a trans doll ( i do have other LBGT characters) but I love the idea of them and having that community represented. Just because I don't have one now, doesn't mean though that I wouldn't have one in the future at all

    19. I have Agender/nonbinary and third gender dolls. I didn't put this kind of info about the characters anywhere yet tho...
One of them was supposed to be a girl but the character somehow developed (I am very connected to this one) and came out as kid with boy body, girlish look and absolutely nonbinary personality and identification.

    20. I am transgender myself so I've been looking into shelling out one of my gender neutral characters ! I think it's good to have trans representation in my dolls since I would really like to see more representation in real life situations !!
