Twigling Doll Discussion ~ Part 3

@BlitheFool , thanks for posting this picture, wow beautiful girls and beautiful outfits!

Has anybody the original body and the new long legs body? I read somewhere Twigling was trying to make the original legs the same length, I wondered if it meant that the new long legs are shorter than the original legs.

 

@Lilla Long legs and original legs are the same. For the last preorder I did make some aesthetic changes to the knees, but both short and long legs uses the same knee.

A Quick Question: Would any of you be interested in seam-sanding and sueding as separate services for orders placed last year (and also future orders, natch)?? Depending on interest I would have to bring in some help, but I would love to be able to offer these extra services so that you can choose whether you want to DIY to bond with your doll or let us do it for you, so you receive her tweaked and tuned and ready to play with...

Seam-sanding would clock in at around €100 (its quite a few hours work done by hand and with care and attention).

Sueding (for now still done with pliver/leather, but vegan-friendly materials are being investigated) would cost €75.

I am not sure about offering sueding without sanding, as if you decide to sand later it would probably not have a very good effect on the leather (as wet-sanding is recommended to reduce dust and improve efficacy of polishing).

 

Shipment of the vivid sets from factory is now being organised. Tan sets should start shipping from factory by May 10. Fingers crossed!! I will start contacting those who have vivid dolls on order about any remaining shipping costs and the ability to add extra services, so that I can be organised and start shipping dolls as fast as possible once they arrive.

I was thinking about sewing some boho/hippy skirts for my girl while I'm waiting (it'll help shrink the fabric hoard!), and I've found the waist and hip measurements but I was wondering if anyone with the original/short hip & long leg body could tell me the length from the waist to the floor? I can always adjust them when she gets here if they're too long, but I don't want to make them too short for her!

Tallulah is the original/short hips & long legs with the now 2nd largest bust size

 

I also see waist to floor at 43-44 cm or 17 inches. However I would hang the skirt much lower on the hips myself.

Btw, I was having so much fun writing emails and order updates in preparation for shipping cost invoicing to everybody waiting for vivid dolls, that when I finish I will go ahead and contact everybody with tan, pink and teal orders as well before I go back to writing Terms & Conditions and other content for the website. I am working with Wordpress and learning as I go, actually going in behind the scenes and doing a lot more coding and adjustment than I thought I would be capable of. I am of course a bit too perfectionist, but I really want to create a nice site WITH an excellent user experience. Hoping to launch some sort of Beta in a month or so, depending on how swamped I get once dolls start arriving.

Yeah, I'll probably make a lower slung skirt in the end (perhaps more than one) but I figured I might attempt something like a maxi dress too. Or at least think about attempting one anyway!

I have emailed everyone directly involved already, but there is a problem with the tan batch which will need to be resolved, I am waiting for a sample to make an informed decision, hopefully receive it next week. We are halting production of tan dolls and moving the pinks and tans up.

A new casting foundry has been sourced and will be ready to step up to help out especially with the problematic darker colours, but most likely will need to wait for them to make new molds for the majority of the new parts (and obviously need to have the parts on hand to mold them). It is believed at this point that the current foundry will be able to finish with the pink dolls, but it seems they may not after all be able to make the darker colours. I am still trying to understand exactly what the problem is to see if I can offer some solutions, and as such I cannot yet say for sure whether or not I will continue working with them.

Lovely Pieta. It helps to see what I am waiting for as it has been so long I have put her out of mind. She is spectacular. Now I remember why I want her.

 

Thank you! Yes, it is an Iplehouse couture dress she's wearing (EID sized) and it is very snug across the hips. The fit in the chest is a little off, but that's mainly because Twigling's sculpting accounts for gravity and Iplehouse's... does not...

She's a v2 so probably not quite the same as what you ordered if I remember correctly? Either way, Pieta is a lovely sculpt and I'm looking forward to there being more of them floating around DoA and flicker

Wow, I wish I had known how much information there was on her Facebook as I have been kept checking the website and getting zilch for information. I was wondering how people seem to be informed.
I was debating if I should ask for one of the reject tan bodies so my Kahlo head would not have to be a floating head but seeing the greening photo think I should probably wait until I can get her a proper body. No idea when that would even be possible now. Oh well, the saga continues.
P.S. Yes, the Pieta I ordered is version one, but it has been so long I have trouble seeing what the difference is now.

It's such a damn shame about the manufacturing issues and those holes are pretty shocking I feel sorry for Reese; she must be tearing her hair out over this long layaway order.
