Twigling Doll Discussion ~ Part 3

I finished the face up and blushing on my Twigling Ingenieuse. I am happy with the results and thought I would share. I also wanted to know if there are other Twigling owners who have trouble with the pose ability. Sueding was unsuccessful and I am moderately happy with hot glue in the joints but if you have tried something more successful let me know.

Any Eloy owner got any of the newer Dollshe bodies?
I'm wondering if Eloy's head would work well on Arsene's Body, the Mystic Body or Khan's Body.

Originally Haru told me he could start casting in December, which is why I set the preorder end date to Dec. 22 but now he is telling me it will be impossible to start before February. This is incredibly frustrating for me, given that I *just* finished up the long-layaway ordeal. Haru is a good quality reproduction option and has thus naturally become very popular. On the one hand it isn't a huge delay, compared to some, but I opened the website (still not done, but I had to just get it up after the help didn't come through and I ended up doing most things myself) and preorders in June this year, and the summer has been slow due to both lack of promotional pictures (still waiting on most of those) and the heat wave that went form june through august. Obviously I don't have any clear preorder periods at the moment, because we are reliant on numbers, not dates. Anyway all of these things are what has and hasn't happened so far this year and is holding me back from doing anything and everything that I have been wanting to move forward with.

I am working on other projects in the background and will announce as they are tested and confirmed. As mentioned before, the white, pink, vivid, raw umber, and Argyria dolls that had been ordered so far will be produced as planned, but only starting from February 2018, so I am unsure of whether to leave the preorder open or not. Or close it and leave open just for Argyria, light grey, caramel tan, raw umber and the teal resin. I have had to switch from translucent to opaque resin for tan, teal, raw umber and argyria but the orders that had been placed before the switch will be produced in translucent resin.

Other options are being explored for the future and I will report back if/when it pans out but don't want to jinx it for now.

 

Since he looks good on the M28 (Sighthoundlady has one) and both Arsene and the Mystic body are similar in shoulders and neck - I have already ordered the Mystic body for my Eloy head (look up Dollshe bodies on Google pictures).The Khan body would really be bigger than those other 3. Not my thing, but might not be a bad combination either.

 

For deeply selfish reasons, I want the preorder to stay open a bit longer so I can get my finances in order to get a body for at least one of my floating heads.
And on that note, I finally stopped being lame and put my Pieta, Samarra all together

To offer my own two cents, it would be financially very helpful for me if the preorder remained open for all orders just a little bit longer--I desperately want to try and order an Elbe in Vivid resin, and my lovely partner has offered to help me cover the down payment on her as my christmas present [because he's amazing ; ~ ; ], but if the preorder stayed open a little bit longer, I may be able to put down a larger payment for her!

 

Talking about financially helpful: she has a 10% discount for those dolls not already reduced in price! Wish I had the funds for a second one. I would love a Gamine!

I recommend just order when you can and we can organise the payment a few days later (just put it in the order comments, and select ban transfer as payment method, we'll fix it up afterwards).

FIRST LAYAWAY PAYMENT WENT THROUGH!! I am so pleased that I was able to order Elbe, she's been my dream sculpt for my character since the first teasers were released of her master sculpt. Now to work out her eyes and such in the meantime--can anyone give me advice on a good eye size for her? Twigling's notes say she has a 16mm eyewell, but her openings are pretty small.

So I've had my Ingenue for a while and finally got her a face up! Shrike did the faceup and took this beautiful photo. Now to get working on her canon outfit. Been under a lot of job stress so sadly haven't been able to do what I would like.

But man I love her lips and eyes!

Has anyone read Twigling's latest blog entry? It sounds like she's testing some new resin that is more environentally friendly, which is really interesting!!

I am curious though...is she still going to cast these dolls with Haru as planned? The texts are really cool, but I don't know that I want my doll in an experimental resin...

 

I sent a message the other day, if she was still accepting orders. She had mention using Haru to cast the dolls. This was after the blog was posted.
