Twigling Doll Discussion ~ Part 3

My mind has been spinning with ideas. I’ve wanted a Twigling for a minute now. I had two Iplehouse Rexy girls. I sold one to finance my Gamine, I ordered the long hips, legs even long nails, lol. Gamine and my remaining Rexy will be sisters.

I can’t wait to see how this resin looks, I ordered the caramel tan. I was going to try the raw umber but changed my mind. I can tell that I will be ordering another girl in the fall.

 

That’s wonderful that she has a sister waiting for her! I love the bodies! I can’t wait to someday order my own, for another character.

 

That's what I thought. I've been going on limited sleep lately so I wanted to make sure. I hope this new foundry is as good as Haru because he's the reason I jumped on this preorder. I've only heard good things about his work.

 

I understand! The casting company was a factor in my order, too, and I think Haru's work is amazing (I have one tiny doll cast by his company and she is lovely, perfect resin, no seam lines, etc.).

But I think the new foundry sounds wonderful, too. Twigling replied to me on Facebook with the details that the plant-based resin is better for the environment, but still has all the benefits of normal resin. I think that's pretty exciting!

She says she is happy with the resin and the new foundry, and since she seems to be dedicated to offering high quality art, I don't think we'll be disappointed.

 

I just got word that Reese got her shipment for the most resent Eloy preorders yesterday & I'm so excited. I've been anticipating Eloys arrival which in the scheme of things hasn't really been that long considering some other dolls I've had to wait for, but to me the wait for Eloy feels like its been a life time. I suppose when you want something that bad it can seam like an eternity.
According to Reeses's Instagram post, Eloy will be mailed out end of next week sometime if I'm not mistaken. I've big plans for Eloy & have been preparing for him for a while now with clothes, shoes & the most amazing accessaries. Is there anyone out there who has ordered Eloy this time around that would like to talk about their plans for their own Eloys?
And is there's anyone who had ordered the (5th Motif) Timeless body specifically for their Eloy head, as I've done? It would be fun to hear from people who are as excited about Eloy as I am!
I am also willing to go as far as to say that Eloy would have to be my GRAIL.

 

@Delphi I am also one of the future owners of one of these heads A light grey one! And I am getting the Dollshe Mystic body for him - yes specially ordered. Likely the body with clear resin parts. I was also very happy to find the news

I ordered Eloy as soon as he was re-released in pale tan resin, I regretted not making the last pre-order so much. I've ordered my boy with the face up option, so it will take a little longer to get him but he will be gorgeous! Very excited to see him in person.
I have a headless Dollshe mystic body which I've been told is a close match to the 5th motif body proportion wise. I ordered it just before 5th motif re-released their doll but Dollshe had an event on so money wise it worked out quite well and it arrived so fast!

 

So awesome! What do you mean when you say the body with the clear resin parts? And will you be needing to use the neck adaptor (donut) to sit Eloys head on your Dollshe Mistic 's neck, or does it fit without it?
The Mistic body is quite stunning & different to the Timeless body, what made you choose that particular body?

And congrats to you too! I've ordered the Oriental skin but kind of wish I had chosen a lighter tone to be honest, but Oh well, at this point I'm just happy that I'm going to have an Eloy full stop! Which artist have chosen to do your Eloys face-up? & can you tell me what kind of look have you in mind for him? Do you know at this stage what kind of style / vibe your Eloy will be sporting?
If you had known about the Timeless body coming up for sale for the very last time, would you have chosen that instead of the Mistic body or had you had your sights on the Mistic body from the word go? I didn't even know that the Mistic body even existed up until now & its as beautiful as the Timeless body.

 

I’m waiting for one of the blue Eloys (I think I spotted four in the image on Instagram).
My plan is to put him on the Fifth Motif body. Then put Goohwa (who had the fifth Motif body) on a Dollshe Mystic body using the neck donut from Eloy.
I just rather have Eloy on Fifth Motif body and Goohwa on the Dollshe than the other way around. Luckily, they all come in the same colours
I am still waiting for the Dollshe body and I don’t know when it will ship, so to beging I plan to use both Eloy and Goohwa on the Fifth Motif body.

 

I'm waiting on a vivid Oryx but man I can't wait to see the spam from all those gorgeous Eloys! I love that sculpt!

Love your idea with that! i'd love to see pictures of him come through. Any character reason why he is blue?

The Dollshe Mystic body I found a picture on Flickr by @aernath (maybe you want to share it?) with an Eloy head on the Mystic body without needing the neck connector. I thought the proportions looked great - and he has the same feeling for me as the Timeless body. And I love that this body seems to be more realistic.

I ordered the Eloy head in June and spend the next two months looking for possible bodies to hybrid him with. The Timeless body was last summer not yet an option, but would not have been my choice for him anyway. I already have a Venitu and I love to have different bodies. So maybe the Dollstown 18jr old? But that one seems so massive.

And his character started to form in my head. And I wanted that half clear resin body as the freaking awesome impersonation for my halfblood Elf/wizard Eloy warrior that has the ability to be invisible.

That he comes with a Bermann on the side is a plus

I got Eloy with a character in mind, who had blue skin. But over the last few months I have decided to change around in my dolls, so right now his character is up in the air. I have an idea about him to use him in an exhibition in Sweden in September.

Sorry! I don't have any Mystic body. I had my Eloy on the Timeless body while I had it (sold it eventually and the GooHwa head I bought it with), and the DollsTown 18yrs body (the old one).

Poor guy needs some new photos.
I liked the looks of him on the Timeless body, but the ankles were annoying. They kept pitching him forward in shoes, and I couldn't get him to stand for anything. Finally got frustrated enough I sold GooHwa and his body.
The old DollsTown 18yr body has it's own frustrations: those knees! I got so frustrated with them, that I even used duct tape to hold them straight in place for a photoshoot. But then getting the tape off, and then the tape residue... yeah never did that again.
I can still put my Eloy head on a DollsTown old 18yr body though. Head's been hiding out from the sun in a drawer for a couple of years... *sniffle* Too many heads, not enough bodies!

 

@aernath - I'll keep searching - I have seen it somewhere - with or without neck connector on the Mystic body. But where??? And yes - please show yours more often!

Yep waiting for a full doll. She's in vivid skin, the flat chest, long hips and short legs.

 

That sounds like a wonderful combination. Do you already have her character down or will that come later?

 

Yep she'll be part of the story that I've been writing for a few years now. Her name is Ophelia and she's a really important character to me. So I'm praying this doll is willing to portrait this character.

Its just as good as the Timeless body & as you say a more realistic look. I really love the clear head & limbs which sound great with your story of him having the gift of invisibility.

Your Eloy looked amazing! I could never part with mine,
I've seen your doll in google image search & have one of your photos of him in my Eloy file. If you don't mind me asking, did you do his face up yourself & did you make his vest + clothes or did you buy them from some where? The vest fits him like a glove! I would really like a vest similar to yours but there aren't many people making clothes for the Timeless body from what I've discovered & I cant sew. I think there was a couple of people on Etsy but thats about it, but there not around at the moment. Do you know of anyone who you could refer me to? It would be much appreciated.

Using your Eloy in an art exhibition sounds awesome! Would it be some sort of instillation piece or a modifications of some sort or something completely different?
