1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Twigling Doll Discussion ~ Part 3

Aug 1, 2015

    1. @AllyCat OMG can't wait for the vivid to be cast! Waiting on a Vivid Gamine, C bust, short hip short legs I think. I see Haru's updates in my Flickr every day. Waiting....

    2. I too am waiting on an Elbe doll & I was very much considering buying a Gamine head as well.

    3. Oooh Gamine is beautiful as well! And yep I've been keeping a close eye on Haru as well. Though I'm not sure if he's going to cast them or her new local one.

    4. Haru's work I find is really good! it's so lovely to the touch. And I wish Reese all the best in her new endeavours & I can't wait. :thumbup

    5. Sorry for the late reply, I've been super busy!
Solsikke is doing my face-up, I paid for a custom style instead of the default make-up when I placed my Eloy order so my boy could have freckles. :) I have not had great luck with the face up artists in the past(I have waited over a year to get one of my dolls back before) so I try and stick to whoever is working with the company/artist.

Oriental skin will be gorgeous though. :) If worse comes to worse if you have not ordered his body you could ask Twigling if she has had any extra heads cast in a lighter resin (I remember she had a few for sale last time) and swap yours.

I think I would have stayed with the mystic, I think the 5th motif body was well out of my price range.

@Prinsessen I am so excited to see your blue boy! I nearly went for blue myself but ended up falling in love with the pale tan.

@AllyCat I look forward to seeing your Oryx!

    6. @Delphi It is a doll convention and for the exhibition the theme is Space & Time. I have some ideas about what to do, because the theme fits with my ideas about how to use his blue resin, but I don’t want to give it away before the exhibition. I plan to work on him in the summer when I finish uni :D

@Miku_Plantman Thank you :D I think your boy will be gorgeous in pale tan :D
Oh wow, that sounds frustrating with a years wait to get your head back!
I hope you will love the faceup you get :D I think Solsikke’s faceups looks very nice.

I also remember reading that she would cast a few Fresh skinned heads extra. So I agree to try to ask her if you can switch the colours of your head, if you want him lighter.

    7. Sounds like lots of fun & I wish you all the best & if you eventually could post a photo we'd love to see it!:thumbup

I found the most perfect fragrance for Eloy at the thrift shop yesterday! Half a bottle of Tom Fords "Amber Absolute".
Its got this amazing woody-moss, frankincense & of cause amber sent to it which instantly made me think of Eloy & what he would smell like if he was real. So I'll douse his clothes in it which will give him that "I've just come from the forest vibe".
      Such a beautiful smell!
Does anyone else use perfumes or fragrance's for their dolls? For me it conjures up a particular feeling & allows my dolls a personality & helps with character development.
You guys should try it some time, it can really fuel the imagination!

    8. @Delphi Oh, I still have my Eloy head, it was the GooHwa and his Timeless body that I eventually sold.
I did do his faceup myself, and the vest is part of a suit set that I got in a swap at a doll meet. No idea of its origin.
And unfortunately, I don't know anyone sewing for that body. Sorry. :(

    9. Oh Wow! You sure have some great looking dolls & I especially like the "Pan's Labyrinth" dolls/head you have. Its one of my favourite movies. Can you please tell me what its called & what doll company produced it & did it come with its own body? And I also really like your Egyptian god Anubis doll, can you also please tell me who made him & would it still be available?
Excuse me for the misunderstanding about your Eloy, so you still have him & the other body that I can see him on in your pictures, is that the DollsTown 18yrs body, is that right?
Which skin tone colour is your Eloy? I ordered the Oriental which is ever so slightly darker than the Fresh, but I think since you bought your Eloy the names of the skin tones have changed somewhat.

    10. @Delphi Thanks :D Sure, if everything works out with him, I can show his picture after the exhibition. I hope to also show a picture of him when I am able to put in together before I start working on him.

My Fifth Motif body is a few years old by now, so I am interested to see how well the blue stays true to the color.

    11. Either way it would be great to see what he looks like & as you say eventually seeing the colour difference.
Except for one of my dolls, I've been very lucky with the others I own I've not had issues with the resin changing colour.
I keep them almost completely out of direct natural light.

    12. @Delphi No worries. And thanks!
The Pan head is a Minimee special commission from Doll in Mind. A group of people got together and commissioned DiM to make him just for them. I didn't know about it until the heads started showing up in owner photos. So I got incredibly lucky and found mine in the marketplace afterwards. And no body is made with the Minimee heads, or at least they weren't back then. Mine currently lives on an old Soom Sard body (for the hooves!).

Anubis was a Soom release that again, I missed out on, but got lucky in the marketplace later. He was originally released as a full doll with what is now the old Soom Supergem body, but I got just the head. And wig. Soom painted the head, btw. I have him on a Soom Megagem body that belongs to my Soom Monzo.

Neither of those heads is still available, so your best bet is the marketplace.

Yes, my Eloy borrows a DollsTown 18yrs body in DollShe pure Oriental resin. And yes, Fresh is White, while Oriental is a light Normal or Normal yellow.

    13. Thanks very much for the information about Pan & Anubis, much appreciated! :)

Reese has just posted a photo of 20 Eloy heads on her Instagram & they all look so wonderful.
The more I see the more I can't wait! :love

    15. Congratulations! Please be sure to share!

    16. Hi!
I will as soon as I get his face-up done & buy myself a new camera. I just checked out your flickr account & I noticed you have a gorges Ellana doll from Lillycat. Can you please tell me did you do her face-up & do you make your own doll clothes? I really like your fashion sense which is simple & very stylish & all your gals are so beautiful.
Have you yourself ordered an Eloy doll or own any of Twiglings dolls?

    17. Hi @Delphi Sorry about the delayed response. Xhanthi painted my Lillycat Ellana. Thank you for the compliment though. Lol. I wish I could paint dolls myself. I buy most of the clothes and shoes I have from different etsy stores.
I currently have a twigling Oryx on order in vivid skin.

    18. HAwesome, Oryx is quite a stunning doll!
Hi there to you too, luckeegurl36 ! ◕‿◕
Pleased to make your acquaintance & by all means there's no need to apologise.
I have to say that Oryx is quite a stunning Asian doll which is really so good to see from a European BJD doll maker. You don't really see much Asian dolls coming from westerners.
Which is another reason why Reese (Twigling) is an amazing artist because she incorporates multiculturalism into her line of beautifully crafted dolls.:)

I ordered an Elbe doll last September & am looking forward to pairing her up next to my Eloy, but I've still got to wait for her a little while longer before she arrives I believe? I simply couldn't resist not getting a mate for my Eloy, who I'm expecting to arrive in about a week & a half or so.:dance
I have a thing for unconventional looking BJDs dolls & am always looking to find ones that are a little different from the norm.

If you dont mind me asking, when did you place your order for your Oryx doll? And do you know if she is coming from Haru's casting company or is she going to be one of the new dolls from the "New Foundry" that Reese has found in her own neck of the woods?

Oh! I almost forgot to ask you is Xhanthi an Australian face-up artist & do you know which city of Australia she resides in & do you have a direct link for her website?

I'm kind of new to the BJD community & am just stating to get the hang of it (well I think I am). It can be a bit frustrating over all with the waiting time it takes for almost everything to do with the hobby.:doh
Well lets not forget to mention the fact that the community has a lot of uptight individuals, like really nutty people that are totally & completely out there. :aeyepop:
In the short amount of time that I've been into the hobby, I've encountered a couple of really nasty people, which almost put me completely off the scene & it took me quite a while before even deciding to join this forum, because I was kind of affrayed too.

      Anyways, so far so good!!!:3nodding:

Would you happen to know of any good stores or seamstresses on Etsy that deal in making clothes for Twigling dolls & also stores for accessaries, like for instance shoes that actually fit their feet? If possible, it would be very much appreciated if you could please point me in the write direction.
      Cheers :)

    19. Hello,

I really like the old Ingenue body (pictures by T4124 for reference) and I was wondering if I could "reproduce" the same body using current parts.

      http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8461/7989404329_5f97cc53d1_z.jpg

I think it may be a long torso and short legs, but I'm not an expert. What do you think?

    20. If my mind serves me right, I believe the original combination was short torso, long legs and the c bust. I might be wrong though.
