1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Twigling Doll Discussion ~ Part 3

Aug 1, 2015

    1. OOoh! How exciting, @Skittzlez2 ! Do share some photos when you can :)

My Kalho has a nice outfit waiting for her when she arrives. Can't wait to do a photoshoot with her when she shows up.

    2. @BlitheFool fancy seeing you here xD cant wait to see your Kalho!

Heres an attempt at posting a photo from this stupid phone....

Heres Isodel and her best friend, Natalia's head, for comparison.

    4. Just a quite update (even putting it here before I go to the FB page) to say that the next shipment is due to be shipped from the factory at the end of this month. They have invested in new machinery and re-division of the work team to dedicate more team members to our order and hopefully this will help to speed things up. Apparently my dolls are the most challenging they have ever worked on, but it seems also because they have not previously worked on dolls of this size, which I didn't know when I started with them. Despite the growing pains we have experienced, I still have hope that I can keep working with them going forward beyond this order.

    5. Is that the pink or vivid order that will be in by the end of the month? I am one of the vivid's and I'm ridiculously excited to hold this beauty!

    6. Me too! Ridiculously excited!
And some spam of my Ingenue Tallulah (well, it's more of her beautiful blingy necklace, but still ;))

    7. As far as I know, it's the pink ones next and the vivid will be after that.

    8. So the tan orders are at least a few months away?

    9. I hope not that long, and that by May this is all being resolved. But it's difficult if not pointless to guesstimate and speculate at this point. I'll update as I have news, and in the meantime keep working on what I can do from my end.

    10. It's good to hear that things are progressing at the factory, albeit slowly. It sounds like they took on more than they were expecting casting these dolls but at least they're giving it their best.
My girl is in pink so fingers crossed my wait is almost over, which is good because I can't wait for her to arrive! I've had her commissioned wig sat around here since November and I'm dying to try it on her! :whee:

    11. I appreciate your efforts! Still super excited about owning your art.

    12. I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this or not but I wanted to share my Twigling Ingenue, she arrived just a short while ago. I hope it helps with those who are still waiting for their dolls to arrive.

This is Herla and we've been learning some new skills together, my first dress, I went pintuck and ruffles crazy in its design. And my first faceup. I intend to wipe it and practice some more but I think we are getting there!

    14. Thanks so much, @Therealwalter! <3

And I also wanted to provide a link for her boots, as I know people are on the look out for things that will fit their girls. They are by Rrabit: SD10/13/16 Girl/DD * BLS003 - Red Wine

I bought them last fall, and they are out of stock now, but hopefully they will be available again at some point. (Edit, I lied! They are back in stock!)

    15. Ooh wow she's fantastic! I love her outfit and all the autumnal colours, and I like how she fits in with her surroundings too!
Thank you for the link to the boots; I love finding more bjd shoe sections to browse through! :D

    16. Congrats, @Sighthoundlady ! She's really lovely. That outfit suits her :XD:

    17. Thank you @Zaliayn! I had originally planned a color scheme of purple and pinks for her, and black hair. But when she arrived, I tried a brown wig on her, and all my plans changed, ha!

Thank you @BlitheFool! She is really fun to sew and make things for!

Okay, I wasn't sure where to post this, but since I'm making these for my Twigling Ingenue I thought I'd share this experiment here.

My attempt at making some small Iris eyes, these are glass taxidermy irises from Snow Bars on Etsy. I've got 5mm and 4mm diameter irises and put them into balls of white sculpey.

      http://i.imgur.com/VD7bgTC.jpg
The top eye is a normal large Iris high dome 14mm glass eye. Don't know the diameter of the eye but you can see how much bigger it is then the 4 and 5mm.

Baking now. I hope these turn out!

Original idea from this came from @MaryamDN
      Realistic eyes 101

      First attempt:

It's not bad! These are the 5mm irises. I think 6mm would have worked well too.
Problems though: Eye gapping. I think if I pressed the irises further into the clay to make them as level as possible is going to help with the eye gapping I'm getting when the glass cabochons contact the eyelid margins. I think the globe should be flattened too.

Round two, with these modifications coming up next. (Hope that's alright!)
