1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Unexpected BJD Sightings

Jun 29, 2010

    1. I might have caused one last night... I had my LS Hanyou out with me at Barnes and Noble while I was trying to write (I was writing a story about bird-creatures... I was hoping Mahdis' BIRDY FEETS! would help inspire me XD ) I actually half hoped that someone would ask me about her. I'm so lonely up here :< I miss taking my dolls out and having people know what they are.

    2. Yes, it happens especially in Summer. People carry the occasional BJD. About the booth at Anime North, I think you are refering to the Dealers room. If you had asked to see them she would show you, so don't ever worry about that. And if you had checked out the Programing you would have found Doll North... a whole Room in one of the Hotels at Anime North that had Doll activities from Friday to Sunday. So that will certainly give you what you did not expect with Doll sightings at Anime North. And in Brampton I know at least 5 people who are doll owners, so they are out there.

    3. @Joy: Hehe yeah... during last year at Anime North I never even heard what a BJD was, so I wasn't expecting to see anything related to that. But I'm following the news thread for Doll North this year, so let's hope I can go and check it out! Besides would it be odd to see a "Len Kagamine" walked up and play with dolls? I'm still really interested by the market you talked about in your last post (I'm a sucker for indie and artisan stuff), I sure hope summer gets here fast now...who knows we might bump into each other one day.:)

    4. Another video game sighting for me; I don't remember the name of the game, but it included sorting a few dolls and I could've sworn that 3 of them looked like BJD's. I could tell that possible 2 of the three had non-BJD bodies (one clearly was on a porcelain doll's body, and the other could've been on a Bratz doll), but it was pretty obvious they were BJD heads.

    5. A jewellery company in New Zealand (I used to live there) had used a naked female BJD to display some of their products, she was beautifully posed but because she was naked there was a bit of an outrage and she ended up on the news :D

I'm about 90% sure it was at the start of 2011, it was only a small story but I got overly excited :)
I do remember that she was an MSD with a very nice body sculpt, she had a long black wig on, her face up was quite soft and body blushing was very minimal ;)

    6. Anyone see that cranky guy with the tiny bunny doll over at Frank Ogawa plaza, in Oakland, CA, last week?! Wednesday.....Thursdayish?!

Yeah........that was me LOL my film camera wouldn't scroll. Whoops! Hence my embarasment! I was seen in front of Starbucks, too. =u= small bushes make good trees for my tiny bunny.

    7. I haven't had a sighting of one outside an event in a long time, certainly not since I was interested in them.

I know there's a decent-sized community in my city, I keep wanting to run into somebody with one so I can watch their jaw drop when I know exactly what it is.

    8. Did a quick google search and found an article about it: http://www.stuff.co.nz/technology/digital-living/3886391/Facebook-bans-doll-nipples
That's just silly, I post nude dolls on Facebook all the time xD

    9. Thats not a BJD, thats an Enchanted Doll (They are porcelain and super detailed.....probably more so then most BJDs)
