It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Unidoll - Unilimited resale

Sep 5, 2009

    1. Photos can be very misleading. It depends how the lighting was done or if there is any after retouch. Owner pictures can tell so much more.

My girl is sadly still stuck, but I contacted the Dutch mailservice. They going to search for my package again =.= Hope to hear from them soon.

    2. Good point, and ITA.

How awful your doll's status is still in limbo. I hope they locate her for you soon. You have been so patient and calm about your doll's misadventure.

    3. Daaang, Sint! We're all pulling for you though! Sending "get home well and soon" vibes!!

I'm trying to remember... I think you're right though, Lucky, just a touch rounder or wider in the face. I'll have to check when I get home tonight. (been meaning to, just keep forgetting. :sweat )

EDIT: Yup, I think Sint is right, it's just the lack of a faceup...

      Sint! Any word yet??? :...(

    4. Holy crap!!!! My boy arrived at DDE tonight! They are sending me the invoice tomorrow, so maybe I will have him Monday or Tuesday!

Man! What great news! I am so curious to see him!

    5. Congrats Luckyl :thumbup Please add pictures.

    6. Hooraaaay!!! *throws confetti*
Yes! Here's hoping he gets in Monday!

    7. Grats Luckyl :)

@aernath: Nope still nothing. So maybe I hear something on Tuesday.

    8. Vinge: Oh yes! I will take some photos! I won't have a face-up right away, but I know I will want to start on it very soon after getting him.

Aernath: Yes! Monday would be great, but I have to work today and may not get to pay for him until late in the day. *boohoo*

Sint: Thanks! Maybe we will both get our dolls this week! *fingers crossed*

I wonder if any of the other peeps that are waiting for Unidolls from DDE's dolls came in too...

    9. I got my boy today!!!! I must say I am already smitten with him. I am not disappointed with him in the least, and am very pleased I ordered him. He came in the right sized box with a lovely pair of green eyes, and the default wig that he wore in the promo pics. I thought I would'nt like the eyes, but they are such a unique color, I will keep them for him for a while.

The resin color is a lovely, creamy ivory color, unlike what I was expecting based on other's reporting an orangey tone. I am very pleased with the resin quality too. It has a really nice look to it. I would say he is nearly a white skin doll which is perfect for the character I have planned.

There are no major defects with the resin that I see, the seams are'nt bad at all, and he is a nice solid doll, not flimsey at all. The sculpt is very detailed and I love it, and I also like the body shape very much. The sculpt has one little quirk though which is kind of cute actually, one ear sticks out and the other does'nt, the ears are totally assymmetrical in shape too. I am so excited, I plan on starting his face-up today and have my heat lamp on in my studio so I can spray in the frigid cold we have going on.

      He is definitely a keeper!

With the wig I bought for him:

He sits, stands, and poses fine. Man, what a relief! I like both sets of hands, and especially like the special hands.

    10. Eeeee!!! What a sweetie! He looks wonderful even without a faceup! :)
Congratulations! I hope to see more of him! ^__^

    11. Congrats! He looks amazing!

I have heard back from DDE about my boy but not from what Unidoll has to say to them about it. They are willing to refund me if Unidoll doesn't take care of the problem. As far as inspecting the dolls they send out, they basically make sure the fingers aren't broken, the ankles are intact, and the head caps are on and nothing else. I'm really surprised they didn't see the big gouge out of his chest. :(

*edit* As I typed this, I heard back from DDE about Unidoll:

      Hi~
      I saw photos.
      I cannot check problem definitely.
I think there are 3~4 problem parts.
I make new doll for change. It is easy way to solve problem. But we need time to make.

      1. We make new one and send to you.
      2. You change doll for new one.
      3. please send old doll.(Don't need combine and box)

If you have another way to want, please let me know.
I think it is best way now.

      Thanks~

    12. Oh my gosh, Luckyl -- he's FABULOUS!:aheartbea

I'm completely smitten, too. I don't know what it is about their faces but these older sculpts just have something special.

Congratulations, and oh yes I shall most definitely be looking for post-faceup pics!!

      ***********************

Speaking of which, aw heck why not :) She's too pretty not to share and it'll be awhile yet before I get to her part in the story, so...

I'm a lousy photographer and the lighting washed her faceup out horribly but here's my -03 girl! Love. Her.

Even better? Her "intended" seems smitten as well... I've tried several other dolls for this character and he never seemed taken with any of them. Actually a bit uncomfortable, if you can picture it. I swear he's grinning these days.

Yep, I need/want to give her a manicure too, eventually. These hands are too nice to just be bare. :bellcookie

    13. Aernath: Thanks! I think he is sweet too...with a face-up he has turned from sweet to a bit haughty. I hope to get an outfit I have been waiting for tomorrow, so may post some more pics.

FunnyLori: Glad you stopped by! That is great you got a response form both DDE and Unidoll about your doll's defects. I am so glad they are willing to make you another one.

Baakay: Your girl is gorgeous too! Thanks for sharing her lovely photo. She looks absolutely fab with the black wig. I agree about the hands being very nice. I hope to blush my guys eventually too.
You really need to post some more pics with your girl's beau...:)

One criticism I have is the funky headcap apparatus... that is not the greatest setup. I won't be changing his eyes out very often with that!

    14. :)Just saw this. Yes I got mine in I think the last part of Nov, maybe. I ordered them from Unidoll without faceups. I haven't noticed anything really wrong. Mine were packed snuggly in tight foam inside the correct size boxes. I got 2 wigs as a gift with each doll, but I don't like any of them. Since they were free that doesn't matter at all of course. I also ordered the extra hands for each doll because I don't like the stuck together fingers. I'm lucky I guess, I had to wait longer than 6-8 weeks but they look good to me and I'm happy with them.

    15. luckyl what does there headcap look like inside? What makes them difficult to remove to exchange eyes?

    16. I got a shipping notice today. The tracking number doesn't work, but whatever, I'm just glad she's finally on her way after 3 months.

    17. Congrats 62Kitty and Gypsydale! I know the feeling about the long wait getting unbearable...I think it was worth it though!

Well, there is a nob on the headcap that attaches with a bloody twisted rubber band to the hook that comes out of the doll's neck. Quite rustic, but functional. It is a pain to get it all situated just right that's all. It works ok, perhaps I am just spoiled with all my other dolls that have magetic headcaps.

    18. LOL! Oh yes, that rubberband! I had to spin Huey's headcap a million times, to get the tension tight enough to hold it on comfortably.
Totally spoiled with the other types of headcap securing!

    19. Oh ok so she will be my first non magnetic headcap, I can do it she will be worth it:)

    20. :thumbup Course you can! It's a PITA but it's much more to the point than when you had no real choice but to get a winch or something to haul the S-hook up high enough to fasten in the top of the headcap (now that is a major workout and can lead to major finger pinching)

Wow, it's amazing, the extent to which stuff has changed in just a few years. Did anyone think to give the person who had the idea for magnetic headcaps some kind of prize? :)
