1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Unoss Discussion Thread

Dec 9, 2009

    1. Hello everyone! My sister gifted me a Unoss, one of my grail dolls, recently. I think I'm okay on clothes since I can sew pretty decently, but I'm having trouble with shoes. Which of course brings me here. I've noticed all the links to appropriately sized shoes is outdated. Does anyone know where I can get cute girly shoes in Unoss size? I have boots but I'm more interested in flats or even heels if that's possible.

    2. Congratulations on your Unoss Sinful Resin! How thoughtful of your sister for gifting you such a treasure! Lucky you!

Unfortunately I can't think of any shoes right now that would fit Unoss, but I need to dress her too so I will try to find something hopefully. I do know they have HUGE feet!

My Bebe is finally back from the spa! I put her in the elusive cat outfit to pose today. I love her new makeup but she definitely looks more like an Aika now instead of a Siena close up, which is all right because my girl is an Aika to begin with. They are definitely expressive girls!

    3. your best shot would be to check taobao or indie companies on yahoo for super girly shoes but if you can live with unisex shoes there are plenty of boyshoes that look cute on girls from many of the larger companies.

Personally I'm goin through a no-shoe-faze where I just want all of my dollies running around bare in the woods, but thats just me.

    4. Oh, for the good old days when Leeke and Minoru World made girl shoes in Unoss size . . . but Dollheart does come through sometimes! These Rococo shoes for SD13 boy would be elegant on our bigfoot girls, for instance: http://www.dollheart.com/ls001025-p-4135.html#.VGS3gskqkuU (I'm kicking myself that I missed out on these when they were available: http://www.dollheart.com/ls001180-p-3959.html#.VGS5EskqkuU)

Another source would be dollmakers' supply shops, like Monique and Kemper; they sell shoes by measurements, so measure the Unoss foot, add a few mm for ease, and see whether any of the styles close to that size are usable. A lot of them are either too babyish or too clownish for me, but I have found the occasional pair of simple low heels that I can live with.

    5. Well I just went to Taobao and there seems to be some SD17 shoes that might fit. I also saw that ttya has some sneakers that would work too in many colors. I will be buying some later I think for my girl later on and tell ya if it works. I hope so because I learned early on that doll shoes are expensive!

    6. I accidently ended up with my hands on the original Unoss artwork book by Araki! Depending on the condition of the book I'll possibly try to scan it to share it here! :)

    7. Oh Please do!:D

This is my first dealing with single jointed doll and solid torsos.
Despite being so basic, she feels so elegant~

    14. I'm not sure if this is the style you're after, but I just found these cute boots on Taobao. 8cm does appear to be the foot length rather than outside shoe length. I'd be a little concerned about the boot width on Unoss calves, though. If you're looking for a more high-fashion style, Dollmore's Model shoes are appropriately sized for Unoss.
I agree that we need another shoe list!

    16. It's been a long time since I've done much with my Unoss, and I was actually going to let her go, but was inspired by photos in this thread and by Gamekitty's renewal process, so I pulled my girl off the shelf and finally wiped her faceup and gave her a fresh one. She had an Evenstar faceup, which I hated to wipe, but I have been looking at it for six years and was just tired of it. I lifted her brows back up to her brow bone, I love that wide eyed look of an Unoss, and mine was missing it!

    17. I think you did a wonderful job wally! Sometimes all one needs is a fresh face up to enjoy the same doll again.

    18. Wow Wally! That faceup just brings her back to life. I think the smaller eyes really work well to give her a more open eyed look too! Well done!

    19. Thanks Gamekitty and Rinoa, I'm really glad I redid her, and it's thanks to all of you on this thread who inspired me to bring her back out for play. All of my faceups look exactly like my faceups, which I get bored with, but I am in love with her again!
She is on a Volks SD13 body, I sold her body many years ago when I was on a poseability kick. I'm happy with her on the SD13 body, and have learned not to regret much in this hobby, I buy and sell to see new things, and don't want to miss that, so I can't regret moving things along. I am going to blush her body tomorrow, and touch up her eyebrows abit. I can't help but think "Disney Princess" when I look at her, and I like the look. Really happy with the high eyebrows, and am planning to dress her very "sweet", which will be a fun game to play for awhile!

    20. I'm absolutely delighted, after ten years of trying/bidding/offering/failing, to have finally brought home my Ultimate Grail Doll, a Unoss Aika!! :aheartbea

The wonderful Enaibi fixed a botched eye mod done by a previous owner (apparently, her eyeholes were enormous!), and the result is uniquely sweet. Enaibi also did her face-up and body blushing :D

So, I can finally join the thread with my lovely girl, Ambre!

      Ambre by Ashbet, on Flickr

She is wearing a dress by Phantom Creations, a ForMyDoll wig, Musedoll headdress . . . and no shoes, since I'm in the same boat as the rest of you ;)

Cynthia, it seems like that first pair of Rococo shoes is (shockingly) still in stock, so I'm going to pick them up and will report back about the fit!

      -- A :kitty2

ETA: There are actually some fairly femme options in the SD13 boy shoes at DollHeart:

http://www.dollheart.com/ls001025-p-4135.html#.VZTeNO1Viko (Rococo shoes, recommended by Cynthia)

      http://www.dollheart.com/ls001108-p-3698.html#.VZTeSO1Viko (brown lace-up ankle boots)

      http://www.dollheart.com/ls001111-p-3819.html#.VZTeWu1Viko (black patent lace-up boots)

http://www.dollheart.com/ls001189-p-4655.html#.VZTefu1Vikp (brown boots with cutout detail)

http://www.dollheart.com/ls001202-p-4774.html#.VZTbuu1Viko (white suede buttoned ankle boots - these come in white, black, and grey)

Hope they're helpful to some of you!! :)

ETA2: Huh, there are some in the SD17/65cm boy range that might work -- could be a little big, could be just right with stockings. Wish they gave interior measurements on their shoes!

      http://www.dollheart.com/fs000027-p-4125.html#.VZTf6-1Viko <-- white Rococo

      http://www.dollheart.com/fs000001-p-3811.html#.VZTf--1Viko <-- white lace-up boots

There are more, but a lot of them are sold out. Seems like it's a good idea to keep an eye on the boys' section on DollHeart, because they seem to fairly regularly release shoes that might look great on our hard-to-fit girls!
