1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Victorian Winter Dolls discussion

    1. Exactly! And since she's soooo skinny the Etre aesthetic will work mush better then on my minifee.
I did some sketches a while ago..I'll have to dig those up when I get home.
I think the first things I do on my own shall be regency, and flapper outfits. Unless that changes..lol

    2. I might be moving in a couple weeks, so I'm going to try to finish up the rest of orders before then. I probably won't release Gwendolyn til after I set everything up in the new house.

    3. Congrats on the move, VW! :) I'm moving this weekend (eek!) so I'm looking forward to having a room where I can set up my dollies. Did you buy a house? Or just find a better place where you can have your doll shop?? That's all very exciting! I can't wait to hear more! :D

    4. Thank you! Oh nice! I hope to get a room for dollies too later on X3
No we haven't bought one just yet, we're looking around still. What happened is my little sister-in-law (she's 18) and her boyfriend have no where to live right now, so we told her she can live with us, but she wants to live with the younger brother (theres 6 siblings in my husbands family, one older, the rest younger then him) who lives in their recently passed away grandfathers house. (the rest of the family lives with their mom in Texas) The man who owns that house wants to sell it (Their grandpa was living in it for free, he was a wonderful man) so soon he himself won't have a place to live. So my husband came up with the idea (Since house's are ridiculously cheap to live in right now) that we all move into a 3-4 bedroom house. (There was one we missed that was $800 a month! Cheaper then what we're paying for an apartment~! and it was down the street!) I will have the extra room (like I do now) Or the garage. Everyone will pitch in for rent and utilities. So it will be nice :) (I used to live with his whole family before, so I don't mind sharing a house, my husband and I will get the master bedroom :D)
I'm saving up for a small warehouse or studio to work in though!

haa~ Sorry for such a long reply XD

    5. Ah that all makes sense--and don't worry, I think everyone has a complicated housing situation at one point or another. I live in an extremely expensive area (San Francisco--woof...) and everyone is asking me why I am foregoing my extremely inexpensive rent-controlled apartment for one that is just slightly bigger for literally three times the price. Basically, I'm just tired of living in the same apartment my whole life, especially newly married when my brother shares the same tiny space. And on top of all of it, no room for dolls!

A change of location can be very refreshing and inspiring :D

    6. I can understand that. I don't like getting comfortable in places unless It gonna be my dream home lol. Im not planning on living in Las Vegas forever, we're waiting for him to finish his medical schooling and working as a Neuro Tech. (Base amount a year they get is 40K) and whats even better is his lil sister is going to that school as well, and his brother is thinking the same. I'm also saving up money but I want 70% of income to go back into the company (for now atleast)
OH~ And I just got news she's moving in to this apartment before Saturday...I should clean...and then once we get everything arranged we'll all move into a house (They've decided on the 4 bedroom one :))

    7. Woohoo! Congrats! Can't wait to hear about your new "doll factory" space. :D

    8. OH! Also I figured out an easier way to do the Skin Tones! So now I don't have to measure constantly :) Yayyy for me lol!!

    9. Oh that's awesome!! After finally deciding that I want a light skintone instead of the white one I was actually kinda worried that it would cause you too much extra work, lol! Good to hear you're building efficient methods.

Gosh I am so excited about the future of VW dolls.

I wonder, are you planning on doing any kind of limiteds in the future?

    10. :D I know XD Its not that I minded doing extra work its just that I want the dolls out there so people can have them early lol. (But I do take my time so I don't mess up :))

:O Me too! I've actually start the 'Palm Pixies' ;) I have the body sculpted, I'm just deciding on a face!! Every one I draw turns out theres a puki for it LOL. I'm thinking of going more towards a realistic face now since simple isnt working lol.

I might do limiteds, but only because of resin color reasons. I might do a limited color type of faerie but the sculpt isn't limited?

    11. That sounds great, especially if you had a limited faceup and outfit with it to complete the rarity.

Palm Pixies!! Yay!! :D I'm sure you mentioned it before...but how big did you plan on them being?

    12. Of course! :aheartbea

*runs off to measure the size* Exactly 13cm tall. I bought a couple Kelly clothes to make sure they fit (The legs are a tiny bit long...) and Kelly shoes. I found a place that sells tons of them: http://tabloach.auctivacommerce.com/Default.aspx (And for puki's) The wings will be magnetic so they can be switched with similiar sized dolls <3

    13. WOW!! Thanks for sharing! That's exciting ^_^

That reminds me--Did you see Mimi the Water Fairy from Dream High Studio?? She's a neat and exciting little creature--though I'm not sure if she's on topic for DoA...the excellent "otherworldly" fantasy style reminds me of your sculpts ^_^ I was excited to see her pop up on BJDcollectasy.

    14. ! I didn't know they came out with her! *googles her* She's adorable!! I really love her poseability. I wanted to make something really poseable for them too XDD

    15. I hope that not all 'fantasy colored' and/or sparkly resins are limited. I always miss out on the good colors when companies do that. *Sorry* feeling a little sad from all the things I want being limited and only being able to get a few of them.

    16. Thats why I don't really want to do limiteds X3 I might do limited to the colors that people don't normally like (I'll have to figure that out in the future, I know grey and lavender are big, and hopefully green and black :3) There's too many limited color/fantasys out there anyway ;)

    17. That's true, there is a lot of untested waters for many colors. I also find that most colors (Grey, Green, Lavender) are so light in person so they approximate white skin. I would love to see more vibrancy.

    18. My green will be light, but not white X3 (possibly like this: light green or slightly lighter. The grey will also be around that shade. The lavender will be lighter...possibly like Sooms Vesuvia? I also want to do pearly affects like that too~

    19. I actually was so tempted to buy Souldoll's Leira because it said she came in "Moon light grey skin." With the way she is photographed it looked luminescent, like it possibly had a shimmery sparkle effect to it or something. Even now that a few people have their Leira's home I still can't tell if this is true, but it certainly made her tempting!

As for limiteds, that's a good point about how there are a few companies out there doing it, LOL!
