I've never heard of The Cat Returns! And I love Miyazaki films... It sounds lovely I'll have to check it out!

Using Odette as an avatar is a good idea. But I don't think I could convince many people (not already into dolls) to get her. As an artist doll she is...well, a lot more money than a standard MSD and all my friends are po' broke an' hungry I've shown a lot of my friends already and they all said the same thing: "She is so much more amazing than the rest of those doll things you're always blabbering about. If I was rich I'd get her in a heartbeat!"

...oh well

 

Muse Star your girl is so pretty. You are very lucky to live in a place with so much green (I used to live near a riverbank with 7 acres and now I live in an apartment that doesn't even have a porch, I miss it!)

Thank you ladyroslie! I used to live in the outskirts of the city, now it's all city and we got tired of the rudness there and moved into the country. I just love it here! But the people here are a bit clicky, if you are not an oldie, then you don't count. And we've been here since 1999. And I take my BJDs with me, of which they are not keen at all on! They believe, all work and no play! They need a dolly very very badly!

Oh how nice! Yes! I will post my girl there. I will get some pictures for you. Do elves count too? I've got a forest full of faeries and elves! ANd I do have part elf and vampire too.

 

Once I am done with University we hope to move somewhere wild and open too. You are right though, more people do need dollies! (much less stress in the world when people have a creative outlet ^^)

I am looking for all kinds of Fae, and that can be however the poster interprets it. I was just thinking how I have been in the hobby for awhile and not seen all that many fairy dolls.

Personally, I like BJDs because they can be fae, or nymphs or elves. I want to get dolls that I couldn't get in a fashion doll. I am sure there must be more fairy dolls out there, I think I just get stuck looking at the companies I already know.

(and of course if the thread takes off more fairy-lovers will be exposed to Victorian Winter's beauties!)

 

Ladyrosalie, that's a great thread you started! I hope to see a ton of additions in there. I am on pins and needles to see if the mods approve Dream High Studio's Mimi doll. If she's ontopic, I might take the plunge and get my first ever itty-bitty bjd and she's extremely Fae too. She will make a nice companion for Odette, that I plan on ordering at the same time. It'll be double dolly trouble when the husband finds out, haha!! >.<

 

She is a cutie ^^ for some reason she reminds me of a underwater fairy, I just think she looks like she could turn into a mischievous frog and jump all around making a muck!

I really hope people post their fae in that thread too, because this thread has inspired me so much - to start sewing again (just finished an outfit for my Onyx that will be arriving soon) and to add some faeries to my collection! They are what has been missing (and I can't wait to see Gwendolyn!!)

Update on moving: WELL I've had 'fun'. We were expecting to move today, so I packed up EVERYTHING to move yesterday, because I wanted my casting room to be moved first so I can start again asap. It turns out we can't move for another month, so now I have to unpack everything so I can work again -_- I'm not gonna do it today since I need to finish moving my lil sister in law in so yay.
Also my pressure pot decides it doesn't want to hold pressure now. I'm gonna have to add something to the screw part so no air gets out (It'll be harder to de-compress though) Fun! XDD But I'm not stressing out, cus I told myself I'm not. (Usually I would be breaking out in hives by now! lol)
I can however work more on the Pixie (Which I don't know if I can use the name Palm Pixie because its a phone ;A so I'll do that with some blushing of what I have casted

 

What I know of copyright laws, if you name your doll line palm pixie this is probably okay, since the phone and the doll are in dissimilar markets.

...I actually never heard of this phone, but I AM totally cheesed off that something as stupid as a cellphone might ruin this naming effort I'm totally not a tech person, I can't stand cellphones (even though I work in the tech industry...LOLZ!)

I didn't know palm pixie was a phone! speaking of techy stuff..how bout Thumb Pixie! like how there for a while, people tried to call 'flash drives' 'thumb drives' eh eh? yeah, prolly no lol.

Although you could work with something like 'thumb' since Thumbalenia is a classic tiny fae. ^_^

 

Thumb pixie!? Hahaha, that's cute! But makes me think of a MUCH smaller dolly than the palm pixie in progress.

I guess if all the dolls are Welsh Fae, then what about "Palm Fae" ? That way it keeps in line with Tywlyth Teg, sounds very original, and hopefully no cellphone/exercise machine/glove company has thought of it yet!

Thumb Pixie is cute, but they're twice the size XD I liked the double P in palm pixie though ;A;

omg those sound alll so cute!!! I think my favs are Sprouts, Brownie Bites, and lil nomads X3 I might go with sprouts...and have it so they can have a lil sprout out the top of their head (Example 1, 2, ) I'll have 3 magnets so you can also have lil antennae

I've been stalking this thread, trying to convince myself that I'm not interested (a) because of the price and of me being quite financially screwed from recent dolly buying explosions, b) because I've never been able to bond with a basic doll and these not being limiteds was supposed to make me safe), but here I am posting anyway. ^_^;
It was the talk of transparent parts and that amazing purple resin that might end up glittery that finally killed me. ^_^;;

 

I like sprouts too! I can see how Palm Pixies and Tywlyth Teg go together because they both have alliteration. I think Tywlyth Teg sounds so much more unique and mysterious, a combination of words I've never heard before.

I think rather than go the cute route with the name, maybe you should keep with a fantastical sounding name. It should be something uniquely Victorian Winters.

 

Y Tywlyth Teg is Welsh language. Essentially it's a Cymry or Welsh fae, or elf - depending on what part of Wales you hear it from. Refers to the magical creatures under lakes, in mountains, hills, etc.

 

I might talk with a copy right advisor (And to help get my dolls copyrighted) to see if I can use it. I looked it up and it looks like they market it as 'Palm Pixi' instead of Pixie....so I think I should be ok right? gah XD
