1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Victorian Winter Dolls discussion

    1. Family is awesome--When I was unemployed we lived with my brother in a tiny rent-controlled apartment. It wasn't much, but we were okay because our expenses were so low and split between three people. It's good to know that in a pinch you can rely on family for something or other. :)

    2. Oh gosh that is horrible!

I hope things do work out for you, no one wants or need a job loss no matter how long they've been employed.
I'll keep you in my prayers/drumming if for no other reason than I can.
      (hugs ya)

    3. Aw, thank you! :(

I am scared, but mostly frustrated. I just moved into a nice new (expensive) apartment and was so darn close to ordering Odette I could almost smell that lovely resin.

The thought flashed into my head "I can sell my fullset Cuprit doll probably for a lot and buy Odette with THAT money! O_o....wait what?!" :shudder

So I guess I'm completely losing my mind already and it hasn't even happened yet. :sigh

Needless to say I've been putting in a good show at work and working extra hard... But I just have that feeling that it's gonna happen, y'know? I'm keeping a strong face though, hopefully it's just the jitters! :eusa_pray

    4. Okies, I did a test run for molds with the setup I have- It failed :'( So I'm just going to buy a new pressure pot, that way I have one for resin, and one for molds (I can work double time!)

Sorry for a lack of updates! I've been doing 10 things at once haa~

I have horns started! (PLEASE excuse my hand, The horns wouldn't stay on because I didn't want to glue the magnets in :\)
      HORN SET 1

    5. Ah good to see you again popping in for updates, LOL! I was thinking you must be terribly busy moving and dealing with your mechanical problems! At least the old pressure pot can still do resin, that's kind of excited that you could have both of them all up and running at once.

OOooo hooornns!!! That's exciting!! :D I love the look of them so far, very elegant in their simplicity. Odette's disembodied head with the fuzzy brown wig made me laugh, haha!

    6. ^^ Yea, but I'm slowly getting things done!! lol. I can also cast twice as quickly if I'm not doing any molds too!! So its a win-win ^^

Thank you! I don't know if I should add any texture or anything...I'm liking them being smooth :3 (Its awesome cus you can put them where her ears go too...looks nifty!!)

lol! Its the only head I had on hand XD

    7. The horns are cute, they look really feminine! I'd vote for either a little texture in the resin itself or some sort of swirls in the painting :)

    8. @ladyroselie: Thank you!! What kind of texture though? I could do like a swirling around, like a unicorn horn?

    9. I like horns w/ thin ridges, myself. here's a link (hope it works. wish google would quite being all wierd w/ its image search)
      http://www.shofarshop.com/nn.html

    10. Unicorn would be really cool. I was also thinking of how a rams horn can kind of look like a seashell.

Or how stag horns can look like wood (Please excuse the fact that it is a corkscrew also :sweat)

Or how bull horns can have that marbling effect.

Please excuse that the pictures are from Google Images. I couldn't think of a proper way to describe the textures I was envisioning. Of course any fae you come with will be amazing! I love the idea of a fairy with horns :)

    11. Oh ok I see now! I love the wooden effect, and the marbeling x__x
OH! I can do two versions! Super shiny, and a textured :B (I'll cast the orig one, then sculpt the texture and mold that)
I like making work for myself XD

    12. That shiny/marble effect is cool and I don't think I've ever seen it done before. Clear resin maybe? That'd be amazing.

I LOVE the curly ram horns, but that's kinda been done with all Soom's MDs here and there and don't make me think "Fae." The shiny marble is doing a LOT for me personally, I really like it!

    13. Shiny is very 'bull horn' to me. I prefer textures. but hey, you're doing both, so I'm catered to ^_^

    14. LOL I think I just like anything in clear resin *_* LOL! If my BJD preferences weer a LOLcat poster my caption would read: Moar clear rezin!!

    15. Yay! The more kinds the better, I second Anneke, I like the idea of clear resin, marbled clear resin too ^^

    16. :O I didn't get updated on any new posts! *pouts*

YESSS Clear resin!! The magnet might be a little visable...but if the hair is poofy enough there shouldn't be a problem....
I'll keep the curly bull horns for later, when I can think of a good fae to with them :3

HINT: I do have a doll I'm working on with Deer antlers ;) (Like, big deer antlers XD)

I fixed my sewing machine!! OMG OMG OMG YAY No hand sewing for me now!! :D I'm so happy everything is slowly working for me and is getting fixed :B

    17. Congrats on fixing up your equipment, VW! You're so industrious to get everything fixed up so quickly.

Huge deer antlers you say? :?

Everything about that statement is SO exciting!!! :D:o

    18. Dibs on Dear antlers. >.O
I've been working on a certain fiery outfit todayy... I'll tease you all with photos sometime on Wednesday probably. (that's when school allows me some time)

    19. YAY!! That's exciting news! I also find out tomorrow if I'm going to be laid off or not since everyone is back from the executives meeting... fingers crossed! *Staying optimistic* :D

If I'm going to be kept on then I'm going to buy so many freaking dolls, the stress has just about done me in and I need a release. *_*
