1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    4. Yea, I have to remold one of the hands because the mold fell apart ;A;
On my website blog I will be updating in full a complete whats-ready-whats-going-to-be-done post. Its just hard to keep up the site while I do everything else lol.
Molding is my least favorite to do...mainly because its messy and I'm actually allergic to the silicone :( (But only in its liquid form) but then again its my favorite lol

    7. blue-white chocolate flakes? Hmmm sounds like Blueberries dipped in chocolate.
Dayamn now I want some! LOL

    8. I really enjoyed viewing your wips VW>..
and Freya your doll photos look funfun! they are debating books ofcourse!!
and cake!!! its my birfthday soon too... not this weekend but next

    9. OH!!! I'm SO ANGRY doa didn't send me email updates all day!!! Agh!! This is so amazing *dies* I can't wait to see what little fairies are born this weekend! :D

Your new eyes look amazing! Are the red ones for Gwendolyn maybe?? :D And I love the look of that black resin, it looks SO dark (not ashy at all!)

I know that all the companies that do colored resin (and tanned resins) say you shouldn't sand it because of the ashy/discolor issue. Does that mean they dye their resin? I always assumed it was the nature of something darker to show the rough surface if it was sanded.

Also, GWENDOLYN'S EAAAAR!! *small restrained squee*

I finally get to see a wee little part of her :D hahaha.

    10. Freya: Haa~ They tasted more like plastic though lol X3 blueberries and chocolate does sound yummy though!

Hawthorne: Thank you~! I'm going to try to do more posts from now on....

Anneke: Yea I had that problem too! Its cus they made the filter stronger and put stuff from DoA into spam :\
Thank you! YES they are for gwendolyn ;)
Well what happens is when you add dye to resin (not Rit dye, actual resin coloring) when the resin cures, the dye settles on the outside edges of the piece. There are some resins that you can get any color, but more then likely there is still some sort of coloring that will go to the edges anyway. The reason why is because its heavy, and while the resin cures it pushes it all outwards (I guess like coffee drying on a countertop?)

Heehee :) I can't wait to get her in resinnnnnnn

    11. Ah I didn't know that about resin (doll making is so exciting!)

I am excited to see more progress pictures in the blog too! :D

Freya--I didn't mention this before! You girl looks fantsatic! And now you make me crave chocolate covered blueberries as well O_o I'll have to settle for chocolate cookies. Anyway, I especially love how her hair glistens and the blue is very pronounced. It's interesting how the fullset Odette's still take on a life of their own! :D I hope Muse Star's is doing okay in a house full of vampires, lol.

    12. I'll have to visit your Web again VW. Did not have time this morning. Sounds like some major exciting additions that I totally missed past the initial Bwca photo (he looks cute btw) XD

I've got the one tanned Bermann and he was not sanded; but from gentle wear he's got a couple of light spots. To my mind I'd rather have rough spots than non-natural fading or scuffing but that's just me. None of my kids were sanded except the two original dolls with their full body work, (Stops to drool over her full bodied El in his nakedness ...... um, yeah.) and of course, Odette.

After shooting this morning I was sitting and "playing" with her. She really IS a very different kind of BJD. Single joints and nice joins. She takes some getting used to with her body joins but really, she's sweet. I showed a piccie of her to a coworker this evening and she was amazed at how life like and real the little darling looked. :D

    13. This is also what I'm excited about, Freya. I really like the variety of my doll collection so far--everything from my super fancy Soom Cuprit, to my sweet and simple Resinsoul Mei... Odette is a likely addition in that she doesn't look or feel like ANY of my other dolls, but still fits in with the overall family. I have almost all fantasy dolls, but no fairy dolls! So there's a big empty spot waiting for her.

...And then I saw Gwendolyn's ear. :doh And saw the magic of black resin. And I'm imagining a whole fairy or elf doll made out of black resin cropping up from this growing company. So far I have LOVED that I work only three days a week and still can afford to pay the bills. Victorian Winter dolls may be the reason to start working a full 40 hours a week so that I can afford every single one of them. *_*

    14. if you watch True Blood.. it is said vampires cause the extinction of the fae... b/c their blood was sooooo tastey!!! that and its a sortta supernatural ingested sunscreen

    15. See that's what worries me. I get 20 hours and I STILL want the whole family. Dunno why. LOL
Odette is my first "non human" style doll. I like the non-humans but never saw one, other than Soom's Sabik Elf, that I liked. Still, Sabis is freaking huge! at 80 cm and -- well I commented before about naked dollism. LOL 45 cm is very easy to do. I do a lot of mix/match with my kids anyway - taking a guy's suit and using part of it from the 68 cm to be a skirt or outfit for my CP Lishe. It works for me. I'm seriously trying to figure out how to do some shells and gauze for Mairead. I'll have to swing by Joanne's soon to see what they carry; meanwhile I've got other bits and bobs to try. But she has the look that none of my others have that allows me to just put a bit of lace, gauzy stuff, something with fringe and a snap or two and suddenly she's got haute clothing.

Ok, I suck at description and sewing. But my Hound seems to enjoy the leather leg fringes I did for him so we'll see what can be had for a song for Mairead/Odette. XD

    16. Soom's Sabik Elf *crys* he is soo booootiful... *crys*

    17. Hey everyone. Saw the Sabik Elf post, and caught my eye. It has been non stop here with not much time to play. We lost our old big poodle just a few days ago and now my little one is bad this morning. My husband feels like a funeral director.

My father isnt doing good, got some tests back and not what we were expecting and not good either, my mother and I are a bit tramatized, think I will get out of the house for awhile today. HUsband is worried about us both.

      Does it end...............................

    18. Aw Muse Star... I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles :( It's too bad that not every hurt can be solved with dolls. Losing pets is hard, but ailing family members is a whole different kind of scary. Best wishes and big hugs to you.

    19. Does it end? ... yes... eventual... nothing.. even pain sorrow and loss is forevar...hang in there babe!
