That's awesome freya! Did you introduce your friend to DoA? Or the VW website? That's so awesome that a friend went squealy over Odette! It'd be a great way to get introduced to BJDs. My best friend saw my dolls for the first time last weekend, gave them an up-and-down look, and said "Eh, I would have rather spent that money on jewelry." I guess not everyone is impressed by awesome dolls at first glance.
She's been here at DoA. I offered her an Invite but she doesn't seem ready to go into BJD's that heavily yet. Although she sure likes playing with mine. LOL I have a bunch of doll maker links on my LJ and she's been clicking them regularly to view the different styles of dolls and their costs (always in important consideration). So far she's liking the CP's from Luts, and the DZ boys. This is the first time she's seen VW's dolls. So I don't know what she'll do or not do. I just thought it was fun to watch a grown 50 year old (she's younger than me afterall LOL) making "little girl" noises over Odette.
Aw, that's super cool freya! I hope we might see her pop over here sometime in the future then, whenever she might be ready to take the plunge.
Bummed I missed you guys last night YAY!!! More faerie interest!!!! I wake up to!!! COOL UPMOST! Mystique has really come out of her shell! She DEMANDS to be with me all the time, much like her tiny Firefly Faerie friend too. Now I have a Firefly and dragon faerie! More please! Yeah, I was changing her eyes out and I saw the piece of resin, this morning I can't find it ! UGH! *still looking* amongst all the excitment! VW...............what did you do to these sweeties? They really have alot of magic in them? You've got to be a faerie yourself or at least have faerie lights in your aura! This is so cool, too mouth looks! First time ever!

My husband promised me an Odette So we're ordering her tomorrow! I'm getting her in LS with body blushing and her outfit. I plan on going to Momochu for morning glory style faceup for her This will be the first custom faceup I'm going to send a head out for and I'm nervous about it but also very excited! Her faceups are just as I imagine a fae like Odette would look like. I'd paste a quick link but it seems the hotlinking system can't work with the many extra characters in the gallery title Oh well.
oh I now about those eyes! I love the look VW put into them, otherworldly. I wish I had an air brush, what is the next best thing to do blushing? Okay here is my Mystique in the Colorado mountains last weekend. Do I see antennas? I see a twig in the water, but they float away. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm Here she is standing in the running water, she has incredible balance!!!!
Thank you Stella Maris and Anneke! You made her day, and me too! tete Mytique is already blushing by VW, and I need to blush a few more dolls that I have here, I have a few Volks pastel chaulks but that's it. Do I apply them with a type of brush or Q-tips? Which is better, I don't want to screw up.
Hey Muse Star, I personally used the body blushing tutorial out of the BJD Orbyrarium, but DoA has a huge section for tips, tricks, and techniques--you might find this link helpful for searching through it: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...ustomizing-Thread-Index&p=6093458#post6093458 When I buckled down to blush my girl I sort of figured it out as I went along, eyeballed the colors, figured "nah I don't think I'll unstring her" and sprayed her with coats of MSC in intervals when it "felt right." I think as with a lot of things regarding BJDs the dolls themselves "talk" to you as you go along to get a sense of how far to go in certain areas If you do wind up blushing Mytique you will have to show us what you do!

My Odette Abernathy is finally (nearly) complete!! So I thought I would share ^^ I got her head back from the extremely talented momochu today Here are some quick pictures of her. She's wearing the Victorian Winter brand Chaorite eyes.
Does anyone have an ETA for when VW will be back in business? I'd love to get some of those eyes like Anneke's girl has, and wings too.
That's such exciting news! I can't wait to see all the cool new stuff along with the redesign. In the meantime, here's a shot of my Abernathy, finally finished!
