I had Heath in my cart and made it to the first of the four purchasing steps. Then it locked up and wouldn't let me go to the next page. :cry: I'm really not sure what to do next. I figure that the computer will time out, and if Heath isn't already gone, he will be then. Do you suppose the Cyndys that were available at 3 am last time were the ones that were locked up in shopping carts earlier?
I think I'll go have some comfort food... like apple strudel I hope the site comes up soon I was just thinking that too.... good luck with Heath
The way I think of it is that while you might have it 'in' your cart, it's still showing up as available stock in their system, as you haven't yet processed the order. It's just that you've got it listed as something you want to buy. Once you've paid, the stock gets removed from the available stock and gets marked as your order. So having it in your cart is just to help you keep your order organised - it doesn't mean much to the system.
But that doesn't make sense.. if you're shopping in a store and you have something in your cart, wouldn't it be *yours* until you saw fit to pay or remove it? And wouldn't that prevent people from randomly reaching into your cart to pull out things they liked? If I recall correctly with Kaede, she was sold out for a bit, then more stock came up when people couldn't process their orders because of cc trouble or mind changes. Oh God, I hope this will be the same.
Well online and real life shopping works differently I think Volks works accoring to what Loki says. Evildolly, eeks! Strudels is fattening! LOL!
I guess I'm having a hard time understanding it, especially when they have this posted at the bottom of their cart: The shipping cost is charged per order, so you can save money by purchasing several items at once. How are you supposed to purchase several items at once if you can't guarantee what will and won't be in your cart when you're done shopping?
Nope because if u click on the after event link - they say its inaccessible When I tried to go on to my payment details after being in limbo - i got an error message and my cart was closed by volks!

Hi Loki, I understand what you're saying, but I don't think that's how it worked when I done other online shopping...when I place an item in my cart, it is reserved for me until the cart clears, usually no less than 1 hour from the time of placement. IMHO, if Volks is doing something different with their shopping cart, then they shouldn't offer any online shopping and work thru dealers exclusively. Heck, their system seems to crash every single time they hold one of these "shopping sessions" and they hardly seem to show much of anything in stock to order the rest of the time anyway. Grrrr, sorry it I'm coming off bitchy...its in no way directly at you Loki :wink: I need chocolate now, and having the new OZ muppet movie on the the background is the only thing keeping me from having a total meltdown I guess. Oh well, my little PF Yoko arrived this afternoon, so I'm gonna go play with her and Kaede-Sugar for a while and get in a better mood. Hugs, Juli DC
