1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Volks after event

May 18, 2005

    1. That's what I thought, but the all-black Lolita doesn't say it's sold out, or unavailable at the time. It's saying "Some products are only purchasable in limited quantities"
Try it! And if anyone can get it to work, buy me one too!

    2. Oh yeah, it's the SD-sized one that works, not the MSD. I'm sure it's an error on Volks' part, but I'm still hoping. I need that dress!

    3. First of all, no need to be typing in caps. I don't think yesterday's event online was a waste of time as they did not anticipate the response. YES, the server crashed but it has never been as bad before as it was in the previous After Events online before.

First they do the lottery and people complain about it because they don't get the items they want, then they don't do the lottery and people still don't get the items they want. The problem is there are more demand than supply and Volks can only do so much.

Maybe the server won't crash as they might have gotten an increase in bandwith from their webhosts.

    4. A japanese friend of mine told me that it will be another after event soon.. I don't know where she read this, I suppose in the japanese site.
Cross my fingers... I want Suzuna badly :(

    5. I am really not complaining

    7. I'm sorry you didn't get your Liz (neither did I :( ) but it's neat to see pictures.

Am I the only one who thinks the easy solution to this would be to stop making the molds limited!?

If they can produce Four Sisters and FCS to infinity than I don't see why they can't do the same with the other molds. Obviously there will be times when they're out of stock (like Kun has been for ages), but at least their won't be this insanity.

    8. i totally agree with with
the LE will be always LE same if you can get heads from the FCS, only don't allow us to choose same make-up than the LE one.

to sad some LE are so beautiful, ><

    9. Thanks for the pics they are great!!!!

    10. How could I get a Ludwig?
I´ve beengoing trhought the website for over a week now T_T
All I see is this "to be auctioned at dollpa13" notice butno price link, no nothing!
I´m going crazy, al I see are cindy versions everywhere

Does anybody know how to get a Ludwig?and how much he is going to be?

      thank you everybody

    11. Ludwig was a one-of-a-kind. They only made one of him and he was auctioned at Dollpa 13. The only way to get him would be if the person who won the auction decided to sell him.

    12. Ludwig was already sold at Dolpa. There was only 1 made and he was not sold online. You had to attend Dolpa in person to have a chance to buy him. Sorry for the bad news.

[edit] how did I know that by the time I finished typing this someone else would have already responded? :|

    13. That´s what I was afraid of....but did´nt want to stop looking till I knew for sure...stubborn me T_T

I gues I have a stupid taste, Guess I liked the wig the outfit and particularly that version of Lucas´s cute face (at least I think it´s him)

Okay I guess I have another piece for my puzzle.. Kohya´s eye´s and makeup and Ludwig´s wig^^ (will I ever finish it?..)

Thank you guys for the quick replies anyway^^

[the same way I know if someone else will have posted before I finish typing :P THNX ANYWAY]

Hope you´re Luckier than I was

    14. I just don't understand why Volks isn't handling both the whole Dolpa and After Party thing better by now...it isn't as if this is the first time they've had these events. Its not like they aren't making a huge profit on their products that they can't pay for more bnadwidth to help keep their website form crashing. And what is the deal with having people stand in line for hours only to end up getting a ticket (or chance) for a doll who's number bears no relation to their physical place in the actual line? I'm asking this question based on what other DOA members have reported, as I've never been to a Dolpa. The Dolpas seem very disorganized to this observer, and I would think the whole thing should and could be run a lot more fairly. I agree with the person who wondered why these "limiteds" can't be produced in greater quantity. It's not like they're numbered as many other limited editions of dolls or other collectibles are. Why not just use the Dolpa as a way to introduce a new doll or configuration and take orders on that doll up to a predetermined date, then close that edition? I adore my SDC Kaede, but even my first experience with Volks was a fiasco as I couldn't get my password to work and so missed out on her when she was sold to non-Japanese customers on their website. I think Volks makes beautiful dolls, but I'm seriously turned off to them as a company after all this mess. What should have been a pleasant shopping experience (ie the After Party) seems to have caused angst even those who were able to purchase dolls...and left the rest of us high and dry. :crushed JMHO.

    15. TOTALY TOTALY AGREE!!!!
I wish I could write it in huge letters

That´s what turned my head to Luts. Volks are a dream, but it´s impossible. Either go to Japan (not eventhen, cause you place your order and wait a month for your FCS, it´s not like they´re sculping your head, they´rre basic models for the love of god!)
or trust a middlemen you don´t even know who will dissapear for months, or even better, get your eyes popped out on ebay and end up paying three times more (don´t even get me started on rinkya auctions, not talking about the price but about the risks).
It´s all to impersonal in my modest opinion.
(not saying luts is better but at least you can purchase for five minutes before they run out of everything)

    16. I think it's a volume issue.....
Around the time I joined this forum, there were about 430 members, I think.
Now there are over 2000, plus, I see people on Ebay bidding on the dolls that are not on here.
Since the exposure in Haute Doll, the numbers of collectors have skyrocketed.....even since the last Dolpha.
And, Volks isn't really a "retail" business.....it's family run, and smaller than most know.

But, the dolls are worth waiting for.

    17. Ummm.....not to argue, but the Luts LE Elf Lishe and WooSoo dolls sold out in 2 and 4 minutes, respectively.
You are talking LE's with Volks.....so your five minutes are just about the same.

    18. Warning: Rant

Why is it that every single company has managed to get it right, but volks being the older and more experienced company is still having so much trouble. Promotion, creating excitement and testing new ideas can be done in far better ways that do not cause grief and exhaust your company and your customers.

Why not make TRUE limited editions by inviting talented customizes to work on new molds. Volks can introduce new dolls by showing off all of the different looks that can be achieved. This would widen the appeal of each and every doll they release and truly promote them. These LEs would sell as real, numbered, and certified LEs -- something that volks and all the artists can be proud of and take their time to create and show off.

And after the promo party make the molds regular editions available to anyone. Leave one or two "special custom" dolls like dreaming/sleeping/elf whatever heads as LEs but for gods sake not every single thing your customers are supposed to be excited about.

No rush, no stress, and no grief of either them or the customers. Both them and us can still be as creative as ever, without feeling the need to fork over $$$ to scalpers in order for your vision to come to life.

Doesn't volks want to solve the damn scalper problem? They only thing they did so far is leave their own customers in the cold if by chance something awful happens. Not very friendly to say the least. Do they not realize that the only reason why people buy from scalpers and not from them is because they have no choice?

    19. Honestly I just think they don't care. :(

    20. What "every single company" are you talking about? DOD, who taikes more orders than they can handle, keeps customers waiting for a simple email reply, and only restocks an item once in a blue moon? Luts, who says one thing and does another? Angelregion, who can't manage to send an LE doll's outfit that -fits- the actual doll?

No company is perfect. Believe me, I've done my share of screaming about Volks these last two days, and I agree there are definitely things they could improve upon. But they're talking about looking into that, so let's not bash them without giving them a chance.

And pony_gery-- if you're so sure that Volks is being disrespectful and non-caring and whatever, then why do you still bother patronizing them? Why not leave the dolls for someone who cares about the company and their products? I would have loved to get a Liz at retail, and if my order had worked, you can believe I wouldn't be here bitching about having to click and reclick. I'd be really, really happy and not rub my good fortune in someone else's face.
