Volks DearSD 43cm Discussion Part 2

Thanks for the kind words everyone!
Not sure if anyone is interested, but Haruhana (aka Volks Korea) has DearSD Chiyo, SWD Chiyo and SWD Syo for sale right now due to lottery cancelations.
They don't ship overseas but if anyone has a connection, it would be a great chance to get them!
If it was OE Syo and not SWD, I would have jumped on it in a heartbeat...

 

@CMBato : That's dangerous information lol! I really adore the DSD SwD Chiyo...especially when they did her in the Kimono set/Ichima version. I think she would be a cute friend for my Megohime.

I am at my limit for purchases and layaways but I hope someone is able to adopt them, hopefully some people who didn't win the lotto originally.

I haven't taken a lot of photos of her, but I took out my Megohime to play with because I'm getting excited about getting another doll her size. She recently got a name too~ I named her Yumiko

 

These are so cute! I think for my first SD I still want an Graffiti girl or boy but one of these is a very close second. I’m almost leaning towards one of these for my first...I like their child like cute features, size, and outfits and the more pics I see the more I like them

@MilkyTea They have been multiplying! Such pretty girls! It is nice seeing photos of DSD while we wait for ours.

 

I hope your girls will start shipping soon! I'm sure it must bw really difficult for Volks right now with all of the shipping issues worldwide, hopefully they all get to you ASAP

Thank you! Yeah, I was super freaked out when the postman handed me the box and I could hear something knocking around in there, only to find it was her hand slapping the inside of the box! I ended up partially undressing her to check for any damage and luckily she's safe! My SDMs and DDs all came so thoroughly packed that I wondered if she originally came with more wrapping, kind of scary that Volks wouldn't fill up the box with at least a little bubble wrap!

Thank you! I would have had a heart attack if she came broken after all the work it took to get her in the first place lol! I think the pink wig is going to be super fun, hopefully I'll have some new dresses coming for her soon as well to mix things up (it really is such a pain finding clothes to fit them though lol)

@MilkyTea : Your cute coordinated Nono trio is too precious! I love how they style all these DSD babies.

I heard from another user in CA, that they were allowed to pick up their dollie at the store so I hope that's a good sign that the dolls are being prepped to ship! I'm so excited. He was also told that the blank card that comes with the DSD is intended for you to write something for your 'beloved' as you give them the doll. I remember at one of the LA Dolpas, that Mrs. Shigeta spoke a bit about how these were supposed to be special gifts to those you love... but I don't remember too clearly the details.

Has anyone else ever heard of this or done this with the card? I just recently learned this and I can't remember (have to fish around my Megohime box) if my previous DSD came with one.

I decided to name my DSD Vanessa, Daniella... but nickname her "Nellie" after my granny. My granny always loved dolls, and always wanted me to show her any new ones I bought... even my awkward big man dolls I was thinking I would write something to my granny (who's no longer with me) that this doll is also hers. The anniversary of her passing away just passed, and I've been thinking of her a lot.

Also, yes, I'd heard of this with the card! I have the blank cards for two of my DSDs, but I didn't write anything on them. I'm probably going to keep them blank; I can't think of anything I'd be willing to commit to paper!

 

If anyone heard high-pitched shrieking a moment ago that was me getting my shipping notice. Fingers crossed that it means everyone should see theirs shortly!

Will do! Interestingly my tracking number says my girl will be delivered Saturday....of last week. Oh USPS... At least I paid for express shipping so that when she finishes her back to the future act she'll be here quickly!

 

My tracking states label made October 14th, but I got the notice today.

I was unreasonably excited to finally have one of the house boxes as my other girls were secondhand or had a different box! She's absolutely gorgeous, and I can't wait to try on all the clothes I've been stockpiling for her. Aspen and I are wishing everyone's dolls a speedy arrival!

UGH I keep checking... I see a label has been made for my doll (for shipping) but it's not updating so I'm assuming she hasn't shipped. ;o; Alas~ maybe they meant late October~

Can’t wait to see everyone’s incoming dolls! I also have a DearSD on the way, an Una from Y! Auctions. I sold the one I had but ended upp missing her so much I decided to get a new one. She will be called Luna

 

So Volks never sent me an email my Vanessa had shipped, but the tracking code that was on my order page started working and it seems she'll be here this Saturday Now to stalk the mail man...

@rakelnaomi : Congrats! Una is one doll that I'm trying SO HARD not to put on my wishlist because they always seem to do these very special small releases of her... but I just adore the DSD SwD Una's... Please share her when she arrives!
