1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Volks Dollfie Dream Mini discussion part 1

Apr 4, 2007

    1. They're the same size as msd, so about 42-45 cm tall.

I has MDD too, shes a Modified Mirai.

    2. I want some new eyes for my MDD Mirai. I was thinking of trying out some realistic types in either glass or silicone/urethane. I know from trying out some cheap 20mm glass eyes (But the color was all wrong I was trying to do something less realistic and it did not work out) they will work in that size as 22mm would make the iris etc too big and less realistic. Has anyone got any photos of MDD's or DD's with realistic eyes?

    3. You might be able to find a white skin mini DD body from a split of MDD Al Asif or Etheldreda (you might find auctions for the body only on yahoo japan). For now Volks only released white skin MDD as special character dolls. Probably sooner or later you can buy the body separately at regular price.

    4. Oh, so any DD head on the Volks site will fit a MDD body?! I am so excited! I really like 'em and am still deciding whether or not to buy a DD or an MDD, they are so cute!
So, Volks won't do a face-up on the option heads?

    5. Yup you can use any head. MDD are more flexible, but DD stands better.
Volks only makes DD face-up on limited characters and on their 2 standard models.

    6. Haven't been here for quite a long time.
      Latune come to say hello~XD

    7. I don't think there is a database, if there is I have missed it somewhere. However I have a page on my blog with a full character list of all dollfie dreams, including links to their Volks pages. It includes both anime/game characters and the volks original characters. Both limited and standard dolls, dd and mdd sizes.

I try to update it as frequently as possible and it is currently up to date including the Gurren Lagann and Nanoha dd's.

    8. Would anyone know what the measurements are for the basic MDD body (the small bust measurement) please? I've looked and been unable to find it for the small bust, which is the one I am looking at getting. Thank you

    9. I feel like a noob asking this, but how do you remove the headcap? ^^;

    10. With difficulty. Unlike the magnetic caps on normal dollfies they are made of vinyl and it's a case of squeeze and pull and twist and huff and puff until it pops off (Hopefully not snapping the neck at the same time). Firm but carefull. :?

    11. In that case, maybe I shouldn't try to take it off... : (

    12. Only take it off if you need to change the eyes.

    13. One thing I noticed is that older DD heads are quite hard and newer models are pretty squishy. For the more sturdy head types, I need to pop the cap open with a butter knife. Sounds dangerous but really it's not. The newer squishy heads, I just use my hands and squeeze and pop.

    14. Wow! I didn't know the Dollfie Dreams were made out of vinyl! Are there any drawbacks to vinyl as opposed to resin?

I'm in love with the MDD Mayu :D

    15. They stain more easily and are harder to clean stains off.

    16. Thanks, everyone. On Saturday my girl is getting fixed up (we had a scare, thought she was broken because her lower arms came off), but she isn't. Here skeleton was just loose.

I will be learning to open her headcap then. ^.^

    17. Is it easy to attach a resin head to a MDD body? I've been able to easily attach my Lishe head to a DDII body and I love the feel of the vinyl and poseability of the DD body, and since my Lishe is part of a story involving my Soulkid Snyder girl, I'd like them both to match aesthetically. Any thoughts?

    18. I have heard that it is relatively easy to attach a resin head to a DD body in general, but I'm not so sure about a MDD body, since they have the skeleton... You should PM some of the owners of the resin/vinyl hybrid owners and ask how they did it, I'm pretty curious myself!

Also... Did someone on here mention that Dollmore and Dollheart clothing fits MDDs pretty well? I'm debating on keeping my girl and just giving her a new wardrobe... I don't like any of the MDD clothes available from Volks, so I am hunting elsewhere.
