1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Volks Dollfie Dream Mini discussion part 1

Apr 4, 2007

    1. Just got a MSD-sized unitard from BeachGirlNikita. It fits perfectly, although be patient putting it on and taking it off because the default MDD hands are a problem. However, it *is* true that the wrist joint comes out easy and slides back in easy so maybe that's a solution. My MDD hasn't gotten stained yet, and will likely never get stained now thanks to this awesome protective undergear. The spandex may also serve to give the limbs a bit of support that might help with some of the stabilization issues. As I have said earlier the Volks MDD body stocking has a serious problem because the top tends to not stay up with its pre-teen lack-of-boobies. No such problem with the unitard. Suggesting this for all the rest of you owned by a Mini Dollfie Dream.

Edit: here's what it looks like.

    2. i wonder, does anyone have a photo of the adult sized pre-rooted heads on an mdd? does it look right?

    3. I'm in the process of building an MDD of Rika from Higurashi, and I've fallen in love with the HDD-04 head. Naturally, they are sold out at Volks USA. While I'm waiting for them to get back in stock (I've been hearing late-April or early-May, is that true?), I'm just wondering something. I've heard about the MDDs being a bit top-heavy when using the 04 head. Is this a big problem? Or would I be better off using the 03 head?

    4. Well, judge for yourself. MDD, DDH-04 head:

I did not use any external support in the last picture. No stands, no bracing, not leaning up against anything. She is standing on her own two feet there. Yes, she is a little bit tippy because of the head. But she does balance.

    5. Aw, your daughter is so cute! And good to know she can stand just fine. That puts me at ease ^_^

    6. I'll be in LA next weekend and Tenshi-no-Sumika is definitely on my list of places to stop at. I'll be able to get Rika's body (whoo~ :)) and thank goodness they restocked on the Pitatto wig stuff, 'cause I'm definitely needing some of that right now. Darn slippery wigcap~ Haven't tried the rubber band trick yet though, I suppose that's an option.

    8. Doesn't look like anyone has posted here in a while but I'm not sure where else to go for this. I'm a big dollfie dream fan myself and my mate and I would like to start a project that requires the MDD body. But in order to see if the idea is going to work we require some measurements...if someone will be willing to help us that'd be great. Was wondering if someone could measure their girl for us for the following:

      Knee to ankle
      Chest to belly(button)
      circumference of chest- small bust
      circumference of waist
      shoulder width
      and elbow to wrist

    9. Disclaimer: I am not a tailor. But at least I did use a flexible tape measure.

      Knee to ankle: 5"
      Chest to belly(button): 1.5"
circumference of chest- small bust: 6.25"
      circumference of waist: 5.75"
      shoulder width: 3.5"
      and elbow to wrist: 2.25"

    10. Thanks! I'll be back to say if the project will work. ^.^

    11. im not sure. i bought the wig second hand. I believe its a monique wig... but im not certain.

    12. If you are creating a DD by parts it does require some assembly. I have a figurine of that character she is cute and good choices on parts btw.

volks does not offer faceup on mdd or dd parts so you would have to check the customizing section for customizers who do faceups on vinyl heads. Otherwise you could give a try of faceup yourself there are some links on the web that give tutorials for vinyl head faceups. Depending on how much you want it to look like HoiHoi you may also want to look into a customizer that does elf ear mods on vinyl.

The mdd bodies are preassembled but you need to attach the head.

Here is are some of the tutorials on the volkusa site

    13. Hi guys. I know dollcumentary has gotten a recent MDD and says that they stand well without the previous problems with knees. Just wondering if anyone else has gotten one and also finds them to be fine? I'm considering getting one but want to make sure that Volks did, indeed, fix the problems. Thanks in advance.

    14. Do the MSD louise / illya fit into this category? I had assumed they were both MSD but I could be wrong. I am not seeing any posts referring to them at all.

    15. Hi McGraw.

I moved your post to Mini Dolfie dreams. They are not referred to as MSd but MDD.

    16. Just got my shipping notification for MDD Maria! So excited, even though I won't personally see her until September when I come home from Japan. Still nice to know she'll be there!

I'm really hoping the joints have improved, though. I have Illya and a custom MDD and the floppy joints are concerning. Hoping Maria will be a bit more stable.

    17. Cool. Congrats. September will be here before we know it. Be sure to post some pics when you get home.

    18. Thanks, I certainly will! I've seen her at one of the Volks showrooms, and she is definitely too cute not to take pictures of!
