It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Volks Dollfie Dream Mini discussion part 1

Apr 4, 2007

    1. Well after trying a Dollfie DDY girl and not having the right parts or idea how to get clothes. I am trying once more with a Mini Dollfie Dream. I do hope Volks reads my message and double checks I ordered all the right parts & clothes. I am so nervous that I messed up again.

Can anyone tell me what size wig they take? I didn't like any they had at store, so hoping I have ones here that will work. Excited & nervous all at same time.

Volks replied to my question of did I do a good job in ordering right parts for the body. They said I had so big sigh of relief here.

    2. If any one wants to know they have the Standard MDD in stock on volks usa.

    3. What sculpt are you getting/have? Generally they take an 8-9 inch wig I think (been a while since I ordered), but sometimes it just depends on the wig and wig maker. I have gotten 2 separate wigs of the same size from Leekeworld, both for 01 heads and one is just slightly too big (Rainie) and the other I had to stretch out over a tennis ball for quite some time before I could get it to stop popping off of Naiomi's head. Other than that and I really adore their wigs.

    4. I am getting the 04 head with a soft cap as found out those firm ones are to hard for these old hands to get on. Also eyes open as still have some eyes here I can use from last order. I added clothes & extra pair of hands. Now we shall see who works best for me in MSD size. LOL

    5. Ah! The 04 head is so cute ^__^ a friend of mine has one as an MDD and she is just so sweet~

    6. Thank you she is on shipping so will arrive just a couple of days before I go on my trip.

Tama-chan has been having a lot of fun with his new friend Crona. I had been waiting a long time to find the right place to use this joke. I swear, that boy is thoroughly addicted to snuggles.

    8. I just bought my first MDD, which also happens to be my first MSD sized doll ^^. I would really like to buy some clothes for her, but I'm quite apprehensive because I'm not 100% sure about the different MSD sizes of different brands (some like TTYA don't give any measurements that I can see). Could any of you experienced MDD owners let me know of some brands aside from Volks that have MSD clothing that will fit the MDD body?

    9. Mier- I'd really like to help but I really don't buy clothes a lot so I just don't know.

Can't resist showing off a pic of my goofy Bree in her new dress I finished the other day.

    10. Thank you Elinate! I saw the wig in an owner pic and was told that it was most likely a LeekeWorld limited wig. I was really lucky to be given the option to buy it after inquiring where to find one. Bree kept insisting that she wanted 'two toned sherbet colored hair' but trying to find a wig like that isn't easy. It's a bit strange seeing her in properly fitted clothes. She has the tendency to pick up whatever she finds and wear it, even if it isn't put on right. The world at large doesn't bother her too much.

    11. I manged to keep my vow of not getting back into BJD till I saw Rena. I keep telling my husband that she's technically not a BJD because of the skeleton. He's just laughing at me.

I'm not a fan of the way volks does their animetic eyes though. Has anyone gotten SQ-labs resin eyes? I like how they flow better, but I'm not sure if it's just my screen making it look like they flow better or if they have the same lines around the eye 'decal'.

thanks for the help in advance!

    12. Hey! I'm sorry if this has been announced somewhere previously in this thread, but I can't seem to find anything x_x;

Does anyone know of any alternative to KIPS and/or what size they are? I'm not sure if a hardware store or the like would carry any kind of silicone washer...er, I think they're soft and squishy, right?

Basically, I got my first MDD today, and she can't stand on her own at all. She is a MDD Konomi Yuzuhara, so I'm assuming this is because she was released circa 2007. It seems like over time, MDDs got a "version 2" where they could stand a bit better, and I'm pretty sure this is not it.

I normally don't have much of a problem buying from Volks, buuut...in the case of KIPS, they're $11 for a package and $12 to ship, and I would like to get them sooner rather than later (as I don't live in LA...because then there would be no problem XD) because I'd like to bring her to a doll meet, but I didn't know her legs would be like this ;_; Thanks for reading!

    13. Tweendoriru You can just buy kips from another company. Luts sells them for around $3 (with 6 inside) and Alice's Collections offers Airmail and have them $0.50 each. EMS doesn't take long (max a week I think, although I'm not 100% sure if that's the case for USA, it also kinda depends on your customs wether they'll release the package fast or not). Also I don't know where you're located, but Mint on Card has stands, maybe you could get a stand for the meet? I know a lot of DDers who take stands for their girls to meets.

This is my new MDD-04, Airi. She and her little brother Raikou (SQ-Labs chibi Moe) are my first anime style dolls. :)

    15. Does anyone have any experience with modding the new MDD III body(the one that comes in pieces on the Volks USA website) so that it could hold a resin bjd head- an unoa with a hybrid headback in my case? Could you unscrew the "neck-pole" without the entire skeleton falling apart? Would the vinyl stand to having small holes drilled into the top of the neck (for attaching a bar, onto which would we be tied a length of elastic, onto which the S-hook would be strung)? Does that seem at all possible? I don't have any modding experience, but I have a few OT vinyl and abs bodies with Multihead and Puki heads, and I'm enjoying them so much that I'd love to try the same thing out in MSD size. I'd just like to make sure that I'm not up against a wall of impossibility before I take the jump.

    16. Okay, another question- hopefully one that's a little easier to answer. Can anyone with an MDD III body out there give me a basic review: posing, quality, etc.? Perhaps as compared to resin (although I know the two are vastly different)? But basically I've heard extremely mixed reviews about MDD's posabilty/ stability, but here hasn't been much talk in this thread about the new gen. bodies, so I just wanted to hearken back. What do you guys really think about them?

    17. I'd give you a really good and through review if I had an MDDIII. Currently I still just have the MDD body with all of it's issues and my poor Tamayuki badly needs a body upgrade. Both of his ankles were busted before I even knew it, but the loose arm & wrist joints are easy to fix with clear nail polish or super glue to thicken the joints.

As for an S hook adaption, I know that the long internal neck piece on the MDD can easily be removed by loosening a couple of screws and could easily have elastic strung through it. HERE is what the MDDIII internal frame looks like that the neck piece is attached to. I'd think all you'd need to do is take out the one bolt and nut to remove the neck joint and string the elastic through there for your S hook.

I hope this helps even a little.

    18. Yes, this already helps a lot, thank you! I see now how the elastic would work, and it really does look very simple. Although I wonder if there is a way to strengthen the plastic rings that the elastic would have to go through. I'm afraid it could put too much pressure on the plastic and break it off (there I go again- overthinking everything!). And I'm sure others will reply who have the body to give their opinions/thoughts. :)

    19. The plastic is pretty darn strong. I've used a similar elastic trick to attach a DD head to an Obitsu body and at least with the plastic that they use, the hole in the bottom of the head starts to change shape and the internal pieces aren't even affected. If the neck pieces are designed to resist the pressure of a metal nut and bolt, I don't think that elastic would do all that much to it. ;)

    20. Ah, yes, indeed. Thank you so much!
