Volks Dollfie Dream Mini discussion part 1

I love her outfit. I don't need her. I have MDD Candy.

 

I entered for Arle but I'm not optimistic, it's been years since I've won a DD lottery. But on the upside I won't feel so bad if I lose since I discovered that DD Yui makes a really cute MDD too ^_^

 

I entered for Arie because I had the chance to see her in person at the Volks store in Akihabara.
She'll be the first MDD I really really like because she looks so spunky and adorable! ;A; I hope I get her!

Have been refreshing my Volks account to check on results but no news yet.

 

@yoake Were you able to get her? Unfortunately I wasn't lucky enough.

 

Love this girl, I also have the head as well but still to find right make up for her.

W-161D wig looks a bit different compared to how it pictured on Volks site.
Shoes... That's a problem... I have quite a few in my collection but this is the only pair that fits somehow...
And I do not remember for whom I have bought them...

Hi does anyone have photos of an MDD wearing human non-anime eyes? Thanks!!

 

I took the leap and ordered Rena from Volks, along with an outfit. I'm very excited. She will be my first anime bjd. She comes with 20mm anime eyes. So I also bought 18mm anime and normal eyes so I can experiment.

I'm still learning about the complexity of the whole Dollfie Dream system. It seems strange that Rena is the only mini available to buy from them. I like that she will be on the new III body. The markup on ebay for Volks items is astounding, especially for items currently available on the Volks site. LOL.

 

eBay is not a great source for DD items, you'll do better looking on Mandarake まんだらけ通販 if you need to find limited/sold out items that Volks doesn't stock. Also Volks has recently added some more standard head types but they are limited now to the Akiba shop. I expect one day though they will release as new standards.

I ended up getting Arle after all. She's super cute! No regrets

I'm so excited to be posting in here.

My partner has wanted a Dollfie Dream for a while now, but never decided to take the plunge until yesterday. The price and/or style was never right, since he's so picky about his anime girls. We were searching up custom heads on Y!J and eBay yesterday, and he finally agreed to place a bid on this beauty:



He won!

She's a DDH-10 in Semi-White Skin. We're going to put her on the MDD body with a large bust. He really wants a bunny girl suit for her, but alas, I can't seem to find any in 1/4th size. We might just have to make one ourselves or commission someone.

It's so awesome to "officially" have my partner in the hobby with me. I hope he makes a DoA account so that I can stop blabbing about HIS doll, heh.

 

Finally finished this faceup/mod SWS DDH-01 girl I started ages ago... I was unhappy with the mouth mod but I think she turned out really cute ^_^

 

Hello MDD owners. I have a quick question. Since Rena is the only standard MDD right now, what do you use for other heads? Can you put 60cm DD heads on them? I've been debating between a MDD Rena or possibly a 2D doll for an anime-esque doll, but I'm not sure if there are other head choices to use on the MDD body.

 

Rena is the same sculpt as DDH-01, a pretty common choice for MDD head. Any DD head will technically work, and other 60cm heads as well, however whether it looks good or not is subjective. I've tried DDH03, 06, 08 and 10 and those all look cute for MDD to me- check my flickr page if you wanna see photos

Limited heads are more hit-or-miss. SQ-Lab's resin heads work nicely, but you'd better order through a proxy since they seem unreliable about shipping orders to english-speaking customers.
