Volks Dollfie Dream Mini discussion part 1

Pretty sure this trip wouldn't be as awesome due to some places being closed and honestly this way I get to work on DWC01 instead of jumping straight into DreamChoice girl which now I'm thinking would be nice to have in tan skin 0:
Shoes wise I've ordered this pair since there is already a review that they are a little big on normal MDD so I hope they will fit MochiAshi ; w ; I also have some pairs from my SD10 girl so we'll see if anything fits

 

I'm not sure how best to describe this, but the Mochi Ashi feet have a larger instep circumference than typical feet? They're overall slightly larger than MDD feet, but in particular the "height" of the foot can be troublesome for shoes with straps that go over the top of the foot.

I was able to fit these shoes on MDD Mochi-Ashi with a bit of work: SB-MSD-192

I don't own these myself, but I've heard others say these and similar boots are easy to get on MDD Mochi-Ashi feet: SB-MSD-195

When it comes to any face-up there are stylistic preferences and I find the most important thing is to develop one's one style. The fact it does not look like most of the MDD/DD face-ups I have seen actually is what makes me enjoy it so much.

As for Japan, once things settle down the DreamChoice will be waiting for you as will all the other things you want to do. I actually live in Japan and am not venturing very far away from home so you have traveled as far as I have this year

This is very helpful for me, Alice, so thank you! It seems if one were to avoid "strap" shoes then the MSD shoes should more than likely fit...? I have not ruled out a Mochi-Ashi tan girl someday via DreamChoice and if I go that route I would like the shoes I already own to fit her.

 

Honestly it's not my style it's what @Lalette requested and at first it felt very off but I'm glad you like it as well I really want to paint my own DWC and repaint Hina in the future to gain more experience and then maybe start taking commissions for DD face-ups as well 0:

I really hope DreamChoice heads won't go anywhere because I want to have at least one doll with original mouth, like I wanted Arle but even she's very expensive even after re-release :s

Haven't taken any pictures of Hina for a very long time and now I'm very excited to have 2 MDDs in my photos ♥

 

I have a fun question for everyone with a MDD, where do you get your clothes? I've been trying to locate some everyday clothes like t-shirts, sweaters, skirts, pants, and sneakers. I have checked etsy, but don't know which shops shoes actually fit mdds and clothing is harder to find as well.

 

I am sure Dream Choice will expand the options to attract buyers, so I do not think you have to worry. I have been meaning to see all the heads in person but I do not feel comfortable going to look at dolls while the infection rates here are increasing. It is really great to have that option, of course, but living here can get expensive.

I purchase MSD/SDM clothing and shoes so that my MDD and MSD/SDM can share clothing. The shoes can be a bit big on the MDD but they still work. Here are some of my favourite things I have seen that would suit MDD, I think, although perhaps they may be a bit too cutesy for what you are searching for?

I've been slightly obsessed with your question, so I took some terrible quality pictures that might be helpful, starting here: The Trouble with Mochi Ashi Feet

I wanted to show the MDD mochi-ashi feet next to SDM feet and show the MDD mochi-ashi feet in Volks MSD and Volks SD shoes and boots.

In my experience, the mochi-ashi feet are a better fit in MSD shoes than in SD shoes. There's the chance that with long term wearing they might stretch the shoes out, so I think I'd probably put the really close-fitting shoes on for a shorter period of time or designate them for mochi-ashi use. I just don't think the SD shoes look passable on the mochi-ashi feet. I think it's really obvious that they're wearing shoes that are too large, and it's not a look I enjoy.

A pair of @jadepixel eyes I picked up a little bit ago fixed the problems I was having with getting the standard-domed volks animetics seated properly. Viri's gapping is all but gone and they track beautifully! They pop less here than they normally do because like a doofus I went and took a backlit picture, but they're really quite beautiful.



He looks like a bigger nerd every time I get something for him and it's great. Finding things that aren't (1. Overly Cutesy Pastel (2. Dresses (3. Overly Cutesy Pastel Dresses is a little bit of work, but it's rewarding when I come across something appropriate for a standard-sized little guy!

I realised I didn't have any doll boots at all and got grabbed a cute pair from Marketplace, I'm not really sure who is producing these but they got plenty of space left and should fit MochiAshi as well :>
Both head and body of my new girl are in the UK atm and I really hope to start working on her soon, but for now Hina grabbed new boots for a picture in the snow which rarely happens here and I miss it a lot since I moved from Russia q_q

Noa is DWC-01 head in semiwhite on MochiAshi body, I just finished her mouth modification and face-up and this one was definitely easier and better quality compared to Hina's who will also get a new face-up sometime soon so they look similar unlike now D:
I was worried about shoes but everything I had still fit her lol! Her body was also a big surprise cause it's a new DD-f3 frame and omg it's so smooth and easy to handle, although it had loose legs at first but I tightened couple screws and now she is completely fine 0:

My DCH20 arrived yesterday! Im still playing around with styles for her, but she looks so cute in everything


I can confirm that nine9style shoes fit mochiashi feet! Even the heels I tried were ok. Also, most clothing from Alices Collections seems to fit ok because they make things for volks msd size rather than slim msd.

but trust me vinyl is such a safe material compared to resin, I honestly can't imagine going back to bjd now cause DDs are so soft and light which makes them perfect to me ♥

I ordered some fabric with cat prints for her dresses and need to make white ears cause I think I'll keep this wig for now
