Volks Dollfie Dream Mini discussion part 1

ok, that does it. I've fallen hard for these MDDs, I really want one T_______T

Only the body is available through Volks USA, right? And the DD heads are the same as the MDDs'?

*deep sigh* I really wish Volks had some MDD standard version available, and well anyway I can't buy one til next year, so maybe then *wishes*

 

I really wish they would do boys.... For both DD and MDD.

Maybe a MDD head could fit on a MNF boy body? That would be great.

 

I have a minifee body that unused at the moment I can check for you. :3 Okay~ the result is...that it does fit because the MNF body look's really close to a MDD body. So you could definetely put a MDD head on a MNF boy body WITH alot of mods. Such as a neck pole (Obitsu used to sell them I think. :P) and you would somehow have to put that in the MNF boy body and also sand down his neck a bit. It might seem a little odd without the neck sanded down. But I don't know that for a fact because I only have a non-used white skin MNF girl body. :3

In the next week or two I'll be finally buying a MDD body for my floating MSD head. And while I am super excited, the MDD bodies just look so CUTE, I'm vaugly wondering how I'll attach a MSD head to a MDD body! But I'll worry about that once I got the body in my hands. +__+; Maybe I could just.. glue it on or something! *coughs* Maybe not...

 

im thinking youd put the head on the same way others have put SD heads on the dollfie dream bodies?... taking a guess...

 

I don't have mine in hand yet... but i'm intending to use one of those neck pieces to attach it. (Like the ones you get from Luts... only i'm getting mine from cool cat... it's cheaper.)

 

Those new MDDs are cute.. I'm also actually suprised to see characters from Demonbane. xD; (that was the anime, right? >>) I like her outfit a lot too.. Sigh. If money wasnt an option. ;_;!

Also, Is there any measurement list for MDDs? I know they can wear MSD stuff, but I need to know how large the large bust is. e_e; I emailed Volks USA about it, but since it is a holiday weekend I have no idea when they'll reply.

Not sure about the sizes myself, but I'm also curious about it.

 

MDD small bust seems very similar in size to SDCute, they can share clothes that are too small for MSD. I don't have one with the L bust though, so I don"t know how much bigger it is...

 

Does this mean that MDDs could wear clothing meant for Unoa's or MNFs? o_o

 

Hi. I've just put in an order for a MDD Mirai. Garnering info from this thread. I just need to know. For the MDD Mirai should I be looking at SD wigs or MSD wigs?

As for clothing MSD clothes should fit OK?

I was looking at an outfit from dollmore in the MSD clothing section so really hope this will fit. I will wait for her to arrive before deciding on other options like kips if needed. I really need to know the wig size in advance so I can get a cap as she has a black wig and I do not want staining to occur.

I read that MDDs heads are the same size as normal DD heads, so I think you'd be looking for a SD sized wig.

I got an email from Volks today! The measurements (for the large bust) are:
Height(with no head): about 16 inches
L-bust size: about 7.25 inches
Waist: about 5.5 inches
Hip: about 7.5 inches

Maybe I should have also asked what the other busts were.. Oh well. e_e;

 

Wind Spirit Lilly, from memory, my medium bust MDD seemed smaller than a Unoa large bust. So technically she should be able to fit unoa size. I don't have any tailor made unoa clothing to test on her though, but I can say that regular MSD clothing is loose in the chest on the medium bust. She's got a very small ribcage. :3

 

Because this is vinyl would an outfit like this be a definite no no?

Can't I protect the body from staining with some MSC or somesuch?

 

Lyddia, Yes, I've read that MSC is safe on vinyl! I've never tried it personally though. I'm a chicken and hate dealing with stains so I just keep her away from all dark colors XD

Edit: I just measured the medium bust, and I got 6.5 inches. :3

I don't know about MSC, but I know testors Dullcoat works fine ^_^

 

MDD heads are just same size as DD heads, so you want a DD size wig size 8-9.
Be careful about MSD or SD size wigs, MSD size wigs 7-8 might be too tight and wont fit at all, and SD size wigs from Volks seem to be size 9-10 so the head cap will be a bit too loose and it wont stay on well. So just make sure to buy 8-9 and you are good.

 

Thanks. I just got an email back from Volks as I was asking if I could add the body stocking plus kips and cap to my order for the MDD Mirai. Unfortunately to do that I would need to cancel and then reorder with the extra items apparently. I do not want to delay the shipping of the dollfie so I have responded by saying I will get those another time. The shipping via EMS is nearly half the cost of those 3 items! So it will be something I think about getting later on. Perhaps with something else from them to make up the worthwhileness of the shipping. I've ordered one of the gel caps from that other site in the mean time. They are on hols until the 20 something of July though. Bummer.

 

Just to warn you about the silicon cap, i used those and my MDD head got stained from a black wig cap through the silicon cap, so use with caution with black wigh caps. Volks black wig caps really stain DD heads badly.
